Happy Saturday Everyone! 🎉 Taking you back in time over 40 years ago to a Saturday in 1981 with this video from a betamax tape in my collection. It consists of commercials and bumpers that aired during a an episode of SNL, Enjoy! 🙂

10 days after I was born in Huntington, Long Island! I'm sure my Mom was watching this episode of SNL that night on WNBC at my first home in Smithtown.

On this date in the United States: Saturday December 12th, 1981 is only 6 Days After PBS stations across the country including my local station: KPBS San Diego have all concluded their "Winterfest '81" Membership Pledge Drive which began Friday November 27th through Sunday December 6th, 1981, and the programs that brought the most membership pledges were "James Cagney: That Yankee Doodle Dandy", "Bing Crosby: His Life and Legend", the December 1980 Encore presentation of "A Christmas Special with Luciano Pavarotti", "The Making of Raiders of the Lost Ark", and of course the most watched PBS series: "Cosmos" with Carl Sagan.

Hey meredith so those nick jr commercials from 1999 u just uploaded that date is from February 1st. I know because of the frustated episode of blue's clues and then the valentines day episode of little bear, they both premiered as new episodes on that same date.
