I dig that nighttime skyline graphic. Really miss that sort of thing on TV.
LOL at that Commack Motor Inn ad. 😅
To us locals it's a PUNCHLINE .
Even though these are advertisements.....they are a much needed reminder of our days past.
Every generation makes comments about how "life was better back then" but growing up in the eighties, with cable and wor-9 and wpix-11 these compilations are a nice visit to those days. Life really did seem better back then. Thanks for being an archivist.
Just think.. when these commercials were in rotation we hated them and wanted those few minutes gone so we can get back to our "regularly scheduled program" Now look at us watching a 30 min block of these time capsules for fun. Most of these commercials are more entertaining than modern day tv!
I've often thought that tv commercials have a greater ability to transport us to the past than the tv shows themselves, the reason being that we tend to continue to watch reruns of our favorite shows over time, whereas with the commercials we watched them enough back when they were in rotation to memorize them but never since.
That Commack Motor Inn must've gone out of business by now
Those who brought those Time-Life home improvement books saw how hard it was to do it themselves, gave up, and hired a contractor instead.
😂😂😂
I was almost 9 months old when this aired. I had a crush on the girl in the Adam's Apple commercial.
I was born the next day!
Well you missed out on the fabulous 80's!! I was born in 77 😊
That Sergio Valente commercial with the Asians would NOT have flown today 😂😂😂 I remember it well. I was 17. Good shit! 😂
