@@tillmanfranklin4931 buddy you might wanna ease up on reading multiple books at a time because it certainly didnt do good on your sanity, judging by the comments.
At 19:36 it skips most of one page particularly page 10 of the paperback version. Skips the description of the horse of Call's, Augustus asking about the whereabouts of Newt, Pea Eye's response, Newt throwing rocks at the mare, Augustus commenting on Newt's ability to stand on one foot.
Yes, you're correct! The missing section reads as follows: The mare in question was known around town as the Hell Bitch. Call had bought her in Mexico, from some caballeros who claimed to have killed an Indian to get her---a Comanche, they said. Augustus doubted that part of the story: it was unlikely one Comanche had been riding around by himself in that part of Mexico, and if there had been two Comanches the caballeros wouldn't have lived to do any horse trading. The mare was a dapple gray, with a white muzzle and a white streak down her forehead, too tall to be pure Indian pony and too short-barreled to be pure thoroughbred. Her disposition did suggest some time spent with Indians, but which Indians and how long was anybody's guess. Every man who saw her wanted to buy her, she was that stylish, but Call wouldn't even listen to an offer, though Pea Eye and Newt were both anxious to see her sold. They had to work around her every day and suffered accordingly. She had once kicked Newt all the way into the blacksmith's shop and nearly into the forge. Pea Eye was at least as scared of her as he was of Comanches, which was saying a lot. "What's keeping Newt?" Augustus asked. "He may have went to sleep down in that well," Pea Eye said. Then Augustus saw the boy walking up from the lots, so tired he was barely moving. Pea Eye was half drunk by the time Newt finally made the wagons. "'I god, Newt, I'm glad you got here before fall, " Augustus said. "We'd have missed you during the summer." "I been throwin' rocks at the mare, " Newt said, with a grin. "Did you see what a hunk she bit out of the Captain?" Newt lifted one foot and carefully scarped the mud from the well off the sole of his boot, while Pea Eye continued to wash the dust out of his throat. Augustus had always admired the way Newt could stand on one leg while cleaning the other book. "Look at that, Pea," he said. "I bet you can't do that." Pea Eye was so used to seeing Newt stand on one leg to clean his boot that he couldn't figure out what it was Gus though he couldnt' do....
When they said Texans love this book, and this man, they were not joking....i saw so many references to this book on business names and elsewhere on a recent trip....lol
Thanks for this upload. I've been listening to Lee Horsley's narration of the book and after 12 chapters could no longer stand the way he shouts the dialogue of Gus as though the character was deaf. Come to think of it, a couple of lines where other characters comment on his shouting and deafness would have helped me tolerate the narration of what is truly a great feat of literature. Hope Kandinsky does better. Thanks again
I love this book and these characters and it's so nice to have the audio. I wish the narrator had the requisite Texan accent to voice the various characters. Thank you for uploading nonetheless. Thanks very much!
I actually think the dude in the audible version nails Gus’ voice like no one else I’ve heard since. Not that it couldn’t be updated (Richard Poe has my vote) this dude would be good for newts voice😂
This voice would fit Edgar Allen Poe. Kind of scares me and creeps me out for a Western such as Lonesome Dove. I gave it a good try but gonna have to pass on the rest. I love Lonesome Dove too much to have this in my memory but Thank you and Y'all enjoy!!
1 hour of voice recording and no plot has yet occurred. Lol, just joking about the pacing. This really is a great novel. I’m in writer’s circles and I get bored about the BS about making everything loud and flashy. The important thing is to convey an experience. Corporal taking a walk in the dark conveys more of an experience than having some train blow up just to “keep things spicy”. Pacing really is a hard concept for modern-types to grasp...
The audible version is SO BAD! I want to live this book but I can't get past the first hour. I'm going to give this TH-cam version a try sad I wasted $33 on audible for that horrible narrator.
Thank you so much for having these recordings of Wolfram Kandinsky reading Lonesome Dove. It seems that you have all of part 1 but maybe not all of part 2 and part 3? Are more coming? I originally listened to these on Books on Tape. I have been trying to hunt down the complete recordings of this book by Kandinsky to no avail. Can you help me or give me any advice? Once again, thank you so much. Just hearing Kandinsky’s voice once again has lightened my heart.

Thank you!
I just gave this book to my daughter, to take on a trip to Ecuador. I knew she needed a book, and I am sure she will love it as much as I do.
I love this reading of this fantastic book. You have a beautiful voice and I even love the little blips. Thanks so much.
Best book ever written for my vote
why fill the intro with spoilers? if you have not read this book. Skip to 4:28 immediately
No doubt! Why do that???
Can you imagine how good this would be with say Will Patton as the narrater. Its about time it was updated with one of the best modern pro's
I'd add another pawpeice to that fancy onion. I'll have my secondary at this time thank you. Oh and lest you forget the
I wish Frank Muller did it. He did Comanche moon, and it’s brilliant! Everything MR Muller did was brilliant. Sadly, he passed a few years back.

Maybe Frank Muller but he can be dern boring like Pea eye…would be cool if they did one of those gay “plays” with multiple voices

This narrator doesn't sound anything like the story that he's reading. He should maybe read a book on Economics. Sam Elliot should had read this.
