    For everyone confused who won't watch the video: she carried and gave birth from an ADOPTED EMBRYO -- kinda like IVF procedures, just this is not the genetic material of her or her husband. Because all the material was donated/adopted.
    She wanted to get pregnant and experience giving birth again, but they were having fertility issues so she could not conceive. That is all :)

    They’re able to afford giving these children a life and be loved.
    That is my goal, to get to where I can have an adopted child along with my own- a) give love to someone whom needs it b) teach my children you don’t have to be blood to love and be family

      That has been the path I'm known for, helping with two girls from Sao Paulo and two boys from Lagos. But note I only succeeded swerving around the legal things because there are trust issues with the people carrying it out. So in a way they aren't supposed to be here. Avoid the main method if possible. It's worth it. True family comes from the soul.

    My bf is a carrier for cf and I have brittle bone disease, but am fit and strong enough to carry a baby I just worry about genetics, and embryo screening cost £20,000 so this would be a great option! Never really heard of this as hadn't looked into parenting much yet but it's definitely something I'll bear in mind now!

    • @emilygilbeyful
      @emilygilbeyful 5 ปีที่แล้ว +14

      @Speaking Truth yeah it is. My sister has it too and has got 4 kids, all hers, it's 50% chance of passing it on and none of hers have it she is so lucky but I don't think I would be! She did have to have cesareans and I probably would too. We have both had 40ish breaks but always heal normally and you wouldnt know to look at us, we both work full time jobs on our feet etc.

      Go to Prague. I saw a story that a couple went there, took a week long European vacation, and came back pregnant. All for under $6,000, including the transfer and meds, and genetic testing. Do your research first, but maybe an option?

    • @LydiaXavier321
      @LydiaXavier321 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I hear you. I have T1D and my mate is on the spectrum. One day he became a blood or organ donor to a receiver who happened to be pregnant, and everyone considers him like a true father despite us being barely teens at the time (different donor laws). I couldn't bring myself to do anything embryo-related.

    • @AreilKnight
      @AreilKnight 5 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I feel like the terminology itself is misleading, Adopting refers to taking in a living being. "embryo adoption" implies "life at conception" which may be true for many people but it isn't a universal belief for the origin of life. "cryo-embryo salvaging" and "Embryo donation recipient" would be a less click-baity term to use IMO.

    • @saberur66
      @saberur66 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      because this is not adoption, its a fucked up way to look at recieving a donated embryo and making all embryos into some sort of living thing. its not, this is not adoption, and they should not receive any recognization for this. they adopted living breathing children before which is indescribably life changing for said child who was being adopted.

    I have never heard of this before and I am incredibly grateful that you shared this story. I have a genetic disorder which has a 50% chance or better of being passed on to a biological child. It is because of this that I decided at the age of 12 that I would adopt. I never thought that I would be able to be pregnant, which, for me personally, as a young woman is both scary and a natural desire. I still intend to adopt, but knowing that I can potentially carry a child without passing on my genetic disorder (which for better or for worse can vary in severity and is not something I wish to pass on) is a gift. Even if I never do it, now I know it's a possibility.

    • @ChrisplusJoe
      @ChrisplusJoe 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Margaret Thym hi. Just to let you know, IVF has a testing procedure called PGD (pre genetic screening). They can test your embryos for a specific genetic disorder and you can select to only transfer embryos without the disorder.
      Wishing you the very best in whatever option you select.

But haven't been up to date with them in the last year or 2 so had no idea they decided to go through embryo adoption. Honestly, so wholesome! The embryos are from people who had left over and don’t want to terminate them, so they give them to people who can’t produce eggs or sperm or just don’t want to go to through egg collection. So many embryos will never be used, so it’s beautiful to give them an opportunity

    I love this gathered nest! I also love the idea of embryo adoption. I really would love to adopt, but ive always figured it would be a child who has placed for adoption by his birth parents. Ive always wanted an open adoption with a birth family and being able to have that opportunity to bring people into my family for such an amazing reason. I also think embryo adoption is just the coolest thing, but im not sure I want that many kids to be able to do both. I want at least one biological if the universe decides that path for me, but I don't want anymore than three. This momma is something special with her 7! Her kiddos are just the most precious!! I am so thankful there are families like theirs out there cause I certainly would not be able to take on all she has!

      @@gymblondie I understand your point but to my mind, the embryo adoption isn't the "coolest thing" because if you want a child and are looking into the adoption option , there are a LOT of children living in orphanages that are waiting for a family and I believe the families adopting should prioritize over frozen embryos that aren't born yet. Plus, we live in an overpopulated planet and I am not sure that having more children via embryo adoption is the best adoption, considering that there's already plenty of kids waiting for a great family :)

    • @gymblondie
      @gymblondie 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@annalefrancois3423 Im pretty sure thats what I said. Im not sure if you are agreeing or if you are stating your opinion is different than mine. I meant I always planned on an adoption that wasn't an embryo adoption. Its incredibly interesting but I don't think with the amount of kids I want, it would ever be an option because I would "traditional" adopt first. I'd love an international adoption, that would be first and foremost in my mind, but there are plenty of children in the united states that need homes as well. Sorry if my comment wasn't clear, I still think embryo adoption is the "coolest thing" because how cool that our bodies are able to do that and science and technology has figured that out.... thats the way I meant it, but either way I think adoption is an amazing thing and I would love to have my family grow with it someday. Hi! I’m also a mom through biology, adoption, foster care adoption and IVF. We made 13 high quality embryos! 😳 Needless to say, I don’t intend to have 13 babies and we consider placing our embabies for adoption. I found out that if this is something the bio family would consider or want, you could also have a relationship with them! Just like an open adoption. In MY opinion they already exist and are also worthy of a change to thrive and a loving family! ❤️ Best wishes!

    They are an amazing family. To be able to have and give life to kids that are not your own and adopt kids from another country, go through so much emotions ,paper works, investigations etc . You do have to go through a lot to adopt and idk if I would’ve had the patience to do that 5 times.
