This pastor is exactly how all Christians should act. She doesn’t throw Christianity onto others, which is so good. Since I am a Christian, I get upset when other Christians believe that they are better than others.

as a Christian I agree because most of us say “Join us or you will burn in hell for eternity and torture” and try to scare others into our religion which is not right we shouldn’t force it onto people but just preach believers or non believers 😊

It’s really how all Christians should act! I’m agnostic. I don’t believe in God, but if life down the road shows me that he does exist, I will be more than happy to believe. It makes me so sad that Christianity believes to be judgement free, but I’ve gotten judged for not believing and had someone once try to shove it down my throat. Thanks for being the great Christian and understanding what to not force it onto others and not believing you’re better than everyone else, everyone appreciates the understanding ones

Just a little explanation for those who don't (really) know about God's love and Jesus' sacrifice.
      If I ask you:
      -Have you ever lied?
      -Have you ever stolen?
-Have you ever looked at a man or a woman with lust?
-Have you ever used the name of God in vain?
-Have you ever disrespected your parents?
      -Have you ever killed someone?
      Etc.
The answer for all of us is probably yes to at least one of these questions. According to the 10 commandments, if you did commit those acts you are then a liar, a thief, a blasphemor, a murderer etc.
If you were in Court (God being the judge) to be judged for these crimes, would you be held innocent or guilty ? Guilty. Would you go to heaven or hell? You would go to hell since you are guilty.
But is there a way for you to be exonerated? YES!
Jesus is the answer. He paid the fine. You are now free. Indeed, by being crucified, Jesus took all the sins of the world (all of my sins, all of your sins) on his shoulders.
      What does all that mean?
Now the law still exists. But it is not the law nor our good deeds that will save us and make us just to God. You can have Eternal life with God. How? You just have to accept Jesus's sacrifice, repent from your sins and follow God. It is totally free! You don't have to go confess your sins to the priest to be saved, you don't have to pray 5 times a day to be saved, you don't have to be perfect! All God wants, is to have a relationship with you. Real christianity is not a religion. It is a RELATIONSHIP with God. All you need to do is to have faith in him.
And of course, if you accept Jesus in your life, you will still sin. We are all human and weak. But trust me, you will experience a love that will totally transform you and that will give you a peace that nothing in this world can offer you.
And if you sin, just recognize it and leave it to God, ask him to change your heart and he will. He freed me from an addiction to pornography and drugs. Nothing is impossible for him.
God knows you completely and loves you totally and this void in your heart is him inviting you to seek him and to surrender everything to him.
He promises us that: If we seek him with all our heart, we will find him (Jeremiah 29:13).
No matter who you are, no matter what you've done, God wants you to know that he loves you and that he wants a relationship with you.
And if you turned away from God because of a religion, a church or someone, know that even though they said they talked on behalf of God, it doesn't mean that what they told you was true. Many religion and people transform God's Word for whatever reasons (money, Political reasons etc.) But don't listen to them, just look at God's Word.
      Be blessed my Friend. 😇

If you really believe in hell you gonna gain a lot by being an atheist. If you don't, then the most you gain is having a way smaller chance to falling for cults and religious quacks, nothing else. That's a warning.
I' m not sure if spreading the atheist arguments is bad or good. For society, is great for sure. For individual, just if the person is in some form of radical thinking. There are some simple questions that when answered with sincerity leave no room for a belief in God.

Mario Sebastian yes. Exactly. That's an incredibly self assured view. The idea that the only reason someone would leave or deny faith is because of some evil experience they had. No. People don't just ditch a believe in the main structure of the universe for some petty reason or because someone was a dick.
Imagine a white supremacist telling me "well you only married outside your race because a white woman broke your heart when you were young." It's deeply offensive, and wholly wrong on several levels, not the least of which is your inability to see why it's wrong and offensive.

"Opinions" = are abstract - and hence meaningless. Where the "angst" comes into play - and rightly so - is when people = act on those subjective beliefs to the detriment of others. So it is not so much what people believe per se as if upon acting upon their beliefs others are impacted negatively. That has always been the source of friction between Christians et al and others. Theists simply can not wrap their heads around the reality that just because "they" believe a certain way = others should supposedly submit to that - and the answer of course is no.
As an aside. You see this is real time right now in the US in the form of a court case to be heard by SCOTUS. A Christian zealot wants the "right" to discriminate against others in matters of business simply because they happen to be a Fundie. Last I checked money in the US is "green" - not "Christian" = ergo if one wants to operate a business in the public space they should serve all customers as that is only fair after all - is it not. 🤔

Really? See, when I was a Christiam, I was taught to be a vine for Christ and to introduce non-believers to Christ which would obviously require association or communication with all kinds of people. I brought many people to Christ, did a lot of introducing Christianity outside the bubble. Obviously, having said used to, I no longer believe after many years of complete dedication. I regret bringing people to Christ, because it came from a vulnerable, naive person that was brainwashed slowing overtime by wanting acceptance from my family (and wanting my family to be loving and stop veing toxic) and I just happen to be good at convincing or persuading snybody of anything. Had my logic and sense of curiosity and understanding how to rely on myself instead of God.. Had that been nourished, I wouldn't have suffered nearly as much trauma. Most people living inside religion who DO have relatively peaceful families that don't really experience true struggle/pain with anything such as mental illnesses, addictions, financial issues, access to activities/hobbies/ good education, ect..they will be less likely to ever question or disregaurd the religion they were raised in and/or surrounded by in their community; whereas people who do have more struggles, toxic enviornment/family, are treated as less than by their parents (ie:little respect for their thoughts and ideas, ignored or not considered beforehand, not understood nor being sought for praise or attention), mental illness, addiction, financial struggles, little opportunities, little hope in anything BUT God, having tonrely on prayer as a means for getting by in a very depressed or lonely or vulnerable state- they are more likely to eventually question their beliefs, how they were raised, how others live and/or believe, what else is out there for them. This xan be said for every religion not just Christianity, and the same (but opposite) csn slso probably be said for non-religious people.. although for them, finding God would more than likely come out of desperation. I tend to look through psychological/sociological lenses now and I am happier than I have ever been. This this just MY experience going from a christian life to a non-religious one. Also, the theory or rather statistics from whatever study was done of when people leave their raised religion vs. When they are more likely to stay (btw, not saying the reasoning is the same for everybody, just thought it was interesting and made sense) in their belief system aren't necessarily why my mind changed, because even after I stopped going to church, I struggled for a VERY long time to find my way, telling myself at times I still had some faith deep down or that I wasnt atheist/agnostic.. But the truth behind that inner struggle had more to do with the fact that I still couldn't/didn't see my mom (esp) and sister for who they truly were (which are sociopaths) and I still dealt with issues of acceptance from others and self-esteem.. I was lost and I also pretty much had to raise myself and teach kyaelf everything..which leads one towards the path of learning from mistakes. Wish I had allowed myself to think more logically and react/be less emotional and expect to be treated with respect sooner or not allow anybody toxic in my life sooner, because I would have found my way towards a happy life a LOT easier and not have wasted so many years feeling confused because I couldn't 100% think and trust on myself alone (or rather, I believed I couldn't). Choosing the seemingly lonlier path (always different for everybody on what that is) is never easy, especially when you have been conditioned during your more formative years or since birth. I guess religion (or "relationship", whatever floats your boat.. It is STILL a religion) is fine for people that have considerably "normal" lives, have support, dont really need for anythingnor have reason to question, are content with not thinking outside of anything they've been taught, but it still -NO MATTER WHAT- inadvertently (yet still, also directly) affects society and individuals in a harmful manner (both outsiders and believers or insiders) by halting progression significantly while promoting INCREDIBLE amounts of fear/shame, massiveI ego-feeding, the treatment of others as scapegoats, the decay of logic/science, the inability to think for oneself or to only see things through one perspective leading to endless amounts of "sign seeking", the ignorance of helping to find real solutions to help in society without requiring some obligation to continue to grow the church or spread the word of their god, . I could go on for a while but I will leave it at that because I have digressed quite a bit from my original point which was that it is hard to believe you don't experience any lifebor communication with people outside your faith. I assume it is the same for many of your friends. To me, that doesn't make sense. Perhaps living as a Christian these days means more protection & control over the youth and less outside ministry, less trust and more fear. Many parents fear their children experiencing anything that might make them start to think more open-minded or could possibly "lead them astray" from the person they expect you ti be and stay.. But that doesnt say a whole lot about faith and it also isnt parenting in a well-rounded way because if a parent is then expected to raise children through a one way perspective, they cant possibly prepare their children for the real world nor can they easily accept their chlldren for who they truly are if and when that child needs to go their own way because their identity or s part of the way they think doesn't align with the families belief system. Okay, holy rant man.. I could seriously go on forever lol, my bad. Im gonna stop rambling now!

I'm Christian, and this is really beautiful. I have atheist friends and Muslim friends. One tim when I was talking about being Muslim to my church, they said since they worshipped Muhammad like a God then they'll go to hell. I know they didn't mean it in a real way, but I didn't want to try to correct them saying they don't worship him, and that he just a prophet. I really hope someday, I'll meet Christian's who will accept all religions.

The best people are those who come to understand both sides of the conversation, like the pastor. I've had to deal with judgement from not only some people in my church, but my parents as well. Being the young person that I am who doesn't have a fully developed mind yet, it's pretty rough. Luckily there is a person just like the pastor in the video who understand what I've been through as a young person. You don’t have to throw Christianity onto other people, it’s their choice to believe, and it’s okay if they don’t, not everyone who doesn’t believes it’s not a good person…I’ve meet awesome and really good people that don’t believe and that’s okay! Religion it’s a really big step and it’s a choice, it’s a personal choice. I don’t fell that my life it’s full without god, but if you are happy without him, if you feel okay and full without him, that’s completely understandable. Everyone has different needs, everyone has a different vision of the world, and that’s okay. ❤️

    • @varyolla435
      @varyolla435 ปีที่แล้ว +6

Yet religious people absolutely foist their subjective beliefs upon others. Were that not enough = they as we see in the news via endless examples additionally use the levers of government to try to compel others to accede to those "personal beliefs" - usually in a negative manner. *THAT* has always been the problem with religion - always. People unable/unwilling to distinguish that their beliefs are not necessarily the same as others.
p.s. - "purpose" actually comes from within as opposed to without. So if you were not "happy" until you found religion that bespeaks of a problem that caused you to seek solace from outside of yourself. People do not "need" religion to have a sense of purpose or fulfillment in their lives. This means they are usually grasping for something as "a coping mechanism" for what are other issues......... 🤔

Yes. It is _"the grand irony"_ if you will. The decline of religion will not come from people who do not ascribe to theism per se. It will follow = the increasingly extreme actions of the religious believers themselves. All religions suffer from the issue of subjectivity = people ascribing to their beliefs what *THEY* want - as others of the same faith follow another direction. Thus it is the extremists such as you alluded to who will in the end cause the downfall of what they claim to believe by the actions they take.
Moral of the story: the evangelical Fundies are driving away far more people than they can bring into the fold. This is why church attendance in countries like the US is declining as well as people who opening ascribe to religious beliefs in general.
Now this extreme belief is spilling over into political governance. So just as a light bulb burns very bright before it goes out = so we are seeing "the last hurrah" of the Fundies in the US before the rest of the population turns against them to rebalance the scales. 🤔

Respecting someone's "opinion" is one thing. If however an opinion is cast as supposed "fact" when it runs counter to science/history and logic = it is less fact than some might assume. At that point the record must be corrected lest human civilization degenerate into "intellectual anarchy" whereby people are creating their own purported reality based upon whimsical "belief".
Moral of the story: it is not what some belief per se as how they act based upon those beliefs which causes mankind problems. Religion, or at least Christianity, is not about using religion to get away with bad or immoral conduct. In Christianity, the repenting is to show God that you are truly sorry for your actions that have gone against his will. But, his will is unachievable, unless of of course the person repenting is Jesus Christ which therefore implies that you are perfect. Repentance is not a get out of jail free card. If you are truly following God, then repentance should be a one and done thing, as after that one time, as long as you follow the path the Bible shows us, your sins are forgiven. This does not mean that you can commit immoral acts all of the time and get away with it because you can just repent and keep doing it. That is against everything that Christianity stands for. At least, its not what true Christianity is about.

@@user-zp5lt3kj7o thank you for responding. I would be happy to briefly explain why I do not subscribe to any religion (which is often indoctrination to children "[g]et them while they're young" mentality). Being non-religious is not to be confused with atheism, though. I would like to first say, that I do not attempt to change people's religious beliefs via a convincing argument. I talk about these matters mainly for myself. I know that this may seem selfish, but it is so that I can better understand my position with the matter at hand, and which direction that seems most appropriate. Persuasive arguments do not necessitate the claim being true. I only express my personal experiences and understanding, and carefully abide by the old motto live and let live...unless it encroaches on my liberties. I have learned...the hard way... that faith is not a pathway to truth; faith is often very misleading and to hope for things which are unseen. For the myriad of religions that I have earnestly studied over the years (Christendom, Islam, Judaism, etcetera), I find much fault in each doctrine. I have learned to appreciate by eating the meat but leaving the bone. Western philosophy is a great way to apply critical thinking; it enables us the necessary tools to better understanding truths, even in our finite brains. However, I do think that it can only apply to this physical (tangible) life, and currently cannot step beyond that veil. The very reason why we are succeeding in life by staying alive, is either by our own critical thinking or the critical thinking of others. Now, if there is demonstrable proof otherwise, than I would be willing to listen, of course. Generally, at least in our recent past and not-so-recent past in human historicity, depending on the locality of your birth place, was the determining factor on what religion he or she were to embrace, and often it was a cultural embracement either through force, by threat, or just wanting to just be accepted by the family or in societal existence. Often, as I have just previously mentioned, religion is a cultural thing, as I have personally witnessed, and other times it is sought in desperate times of need. I see religion more widespread in poverished countries. I do not condemn the individuals for being religious. As I told my loving Catholic girlfriend in Asia, I am not religious, but if she must pray for my soul than I will not fault her for it, nor will I be offended. I love her regardless. Considering that she is praying because she does not want my soul cast into an eternal hell (yes, I know some Christian sects debate this), than I can see that she loves me enough to be concerned with my well being. My biggest quest in life is fueled by the same passion that painted the Sistine Chapel ceiling; wrote, by reed pen, the Egyptian (Kemet) funerary texts; and articulated the words to that ancient poem The Epic of Gilgamesh. Oh, I would like to add, that Christian denominations...as well as other religious denominations...are generally divided because even they do not agree on interpretation.

The hardest Bible verse for Christians to follow (esp me), ‘everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry.’ This pastor models this well! We should be slow to judge those who have left and listen to their story, being heard and understood itself can bring healing to a person, esp if they have been hurt by others who call themselves Christians.

Where as people who walked out from a position of power often are pretty stand-offish and smartass. And the stereotypically portrayed atheists are often the latter.

It is called "cognitive dissonance". People who live in a science-based world surrounded by technology etc. created as a result of fact-based evidence and logic in the pursuit of understanding = then willfully embrace ancient dogmatic claims built upon "magical thinking".
For some _"a comforting lie"_ is preferable to a hard reality. It is simply human nature. People who build a worldview based upon assumptions and a desire to believe as true what they do because it comforts them are subsequently reticent to relinquish that. 🤷
