I've been wire wrapping for years but your tutorials have given me such inspiration! Your instructions are excellent. Thank you for sharing your talent.
you are so addicting to watch I don't have time to do my own work because I'm watching you...I taught international art at University of Moscow for 6 years and now I am taking lessons from you. YOUR WORKMANSHIP AND TEACHING METHODS ARE BETTER THAN MINE......i GIVE YOU AN A++++++++++.
Oxana, Your work is amazing! Every stitch is perfect and you make it look so easy... that is, until I try it. I almost gave up ever trying wire weaving/wrapping until I started watching your videos. Your tutorials are great! Please keep them coming!
Yes, please view your videos first before starting. This was a great tutorial, but I had to do a rimless version because I did not have enough blank wire at the beginning. It is such a good design, maybe the author wouldn't mind a re-do since it was made. I love your videos.
Hi Oxana. I do adore your tutorials. Your explanatons are clear and fun... But I suggest you use a dark back ground. The white one creates some sort of diversion. From Venezuela with love. 😄😄😄
Hey Oxana! First I want to thank you for taking the time out to make and show us these videos! Your work is truly inspiring and I know a lot of artists charge money for designs I don't think people really understand the hard work that gets put into these videos and the fact that its FREE! So you will never ever hear me complain! I appreciate your work so much as I have really found my passion and without watching you and others I wouldn't be where I am at! So much gratitude to you! I do have 1 question, is there a name for that weave so I can look up how to do it? I absolutely love the look of it, its beautiful!
Thank you very much! I am not sure it has a name, and there are a few different weaving patterns in this video. Here are some tutorials just on weaving patterns specifically that may help: 1.) th-cam.com/video/BZwjkikxyws/w-d-xo.html 2.) th-cam.com/video/TfNX4PnWlbE/w-d-xo.html 3.) th-cam.com/video/_SzrGVmtw9k/w-d-xo.html
I can’t find anywhere in the video notes what length 20g wires you start with. It looks like maybe 12-14 inches. Is that right? I am working my way through your tutorials and I can see your wire weaving skills are amazing. Your filming and explanation are also getting better. I have never tried making a tutorial video but I’m sure it’s not as easy as we think. Your creativity is beautiful and you make it look so easy. Thank you for sharing
You are right, I just watched and it seems like I must have forgotten to say the lengths, and as this was an old video it was before I knew to list out all the supplies under the video like I do now. But I think 14 inches like you said should be good, unless your cab is much bigger
wicked design. I can see that you have been doing this for a while. your fingers move so fast that it's difficult to see the weave pattern. diagrams would be so helpful, especially since the close ups are slightly out of focus. love your work!
I love al your tutorials. I just alway wonder what else I ca with the wires on the back. I just can't feel so sure about just making loops out of them and tucking them in. I feel like it might catch on something.
I love your wire work. Do you use half hard or dead soft wire? You make the bending and wire movement look so easy. I cannot seem to make my half hard wire move so easily? Thanks for the help.
Your work has consistently inspired me to continue down this wonderfully creative path. Thank you for your in-depth instructions and tips to help guide us all! I am just wondering what tool you use and where you buy it to hold/clamp down on the wire to help stabilize while I weave? Much love from Canada!
How I wish you would have mentioned that we need to leave extra wire lengths on the first end to be able to wrap later on. Someone else mentioned this as well. I watched the entire video before ever handling any wire, but without that specific mention, I started wrapping way to close to the starting ends of my wires.
So sorry, I have thought about just taking down this old video because of that issue. I wish I could find a way to insert text somehow telling people to leave extra.
how do you come up with your designs? Do you sketch them out first or try them out or what? Seems like a lot of things have to come together for it to work... which is pretty cool. So curious how you plan for that...
+Christina Vegan I actually do not plan, sometimes I have a rough idea in my mind, but I just start wrapping and see how it all comes together, a lot of times it turns out to be a lot different in real life than I imagined in my mind.
Hello I have been watching a lot of your videos and I must say you are a amazing person!! Everything you make is so beautiful. I was wanting to try and make one so I thought I would ask you if there is a place online where I can buy cabochons?
@@OxanaCrafts I just meant in general. I want to get set up but am not sure what the best option is. Thank you for your answer, do you like canon cameras?
I love your stuff. I think filming this against that background wallpaper is causing your camera to repeatedly refocus on it instead of maintaining focus on your hands and the work. I'm no expert or anything, but that's what it seems to be doing.
Omg this tutorial was so enlightening! Your voice is so calming as sit in my back yard, until the dog barked and bout jumped out of my skin! What a great technique you have showed us! Also as I watch as you focus your close up, I always take a screenshot of what the wrap is for later. So thank you for holding in focus long enough to get that. Bless your heart, your kind heart for all you do!!😃
How do you get the wrapped wire to enclose on the stone, as "/ \" ? When I tried to bend it around my stone, it wouldn't all close in nicely around the stone like yours did. Mine kept on leaning , like "/ /". I couldn't get the stone to stay in and I had to modify the wrap to keep the stone from falling out, even after all the capturing at the top. :'(
I'm not sure exactly what you mean, but I place my stone on a flat surface and bend the frame around it so it has the same shape as the stone. That's good you were still able to make it work by modifying it.

I don't understand how you wrap the wire so effortlessly around the cab at the top like it's made of cord rather than metal. the cab doesn't even move. I guess I just don't have the hand strength for this because to use tools marks up and bends the metal. I've wasted more wire trying to manage these seemingly effortless maneuvers. Cab keeps falling out. Really frustrated at this point and wonder if my effort is being wasted.
Dead soft? I order wire from Parawire and they only allow you to order by metal, color, gauge or shape. It's not bare wire...that I know. I only use copper or silver (but all say copper core).
I think parawire sells dead soft, so that is probably what you have. If 20 gauge is too stiff for you to maneuver easily, maybe try 22 for base and 28 for weaving. I work mostly with bare copper, and I do find it a bit softer than the coated copper.
you do beautiful work, however I find it very hard to follow you at times. you only show your weave for a very short time, half the time you're camera is out of focus, and the other half your hand is out of view. lots of other channels do their work on a white covered table top. is there a way for you to do that? or perhaps go a little slower when starting you're weave?
I know, I am working on it :) If you look at my more recent videos I think I'm getting better at staying in frame. I have not had the chance to make any videos recently, but I hope they will get even better when I do.
OxanaCrafts you do do a beautiful job on your pieces. I love how great the outcome looks. but if you do go a bit slower and put a while sheet or piece of white paper on the wall that will help with the focus better. I would just love to be able to make one of the pieces you do. they look so good. thank you for what you have done though! I'm going threw you're playlist little by little. 💖💖💖😙

Thanks for breaking the steps down with clear instructions. Going to try this when I’m able to place a material order. Inspiring tutorial.

I love al your tutorials. I just alway wonder what else I ca with the wires on the back. I just can't feel so sure about just making loops out of them and tucking them in. I feel like it might catch on something.
You can make a really small look, or tuck it away a lot so it is barely visible, that might help.
hola,me encantan tus trabajos, como haces para envejecer el cobre
Thank you, to age the copper I use liver of sulfur gel
Best I've seen. Hope I can see more.

Is there a formula to figure out how much base wire to use? Maybe 4 times the dimension of the cab?
+Dianna Mooses my stone was about 30mm tall and I used 12 inches

I am just wondering what tool you use and where you buy it to hold/clamp down on the wire to help stabilize while I weave?
Much love from Canada!
it is a spring clamp from the hardware store
Are the base wires round or square? They looks square on the camera but usually folks weave with round…
they are round
Amazing pendant. Would this work with a round cabochon?
it might be slightly more tricky but it should

Doesn’t oxidization affect the base stone?
beautiful wrap. your weaves are really nice. is that brass wire stiffer than the copper?
yes, it is a little stiffer

+Tim Wilson Yes, I think that is why, unfortunately I don't have another option, but I will see if I can find some other way to film.
i suggest hanging a white piece of fabric behind you covering the wallpaper pattern it is blurry quite a lot
:Light beige or pale gray would be a better option. White can be glare-y.
Gorgeous! ! Thank you for your great tutorials :) do you make these designs yourself?
+Hannah Fey You are very welcome! Yes, I invent the designs.
what's keeping the stone from popping through the front?
+kaybee11982 the front opening is slightly smaller than the stone front.
THANKS FOR THE GREAT VIDEO! I WILL DO THIS! :)
A plastic toothpick is a great little thing to open grooves where you need put a skinny wire😉
