    To everyone saying it’s too fast, you can change the playback speed, three dots in the top right will open settings for the video and you can slow or speed individual videos, it helps

      It's not that the video is to slow, it's that my hands and comprehension are too slow lol. But I just hit pause and play back.

    At last !! a clear view of just how you are wrapping the wires, I'm a beginner and so want to learn this, THANK YOU ♥

      You're welcome! I'm glad you like the video. It can be difficult to show to camera how to wrap the wires in the middle of a project so these videos are a lot easier to concentrate on the weaves themselves.

      @@LilyTree Absolutely! 😍 Also question for you! When using sterling for these wraps do you use 1/2 hard or soft wire for both the wrapping and base wire? Thank you!

    • @LilyTree
      @LilyTree  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Personally, I almost always use dead soft. This, for me, makes shaping easy, and if I need it to be firmer for weaving onto it is easy to work harden with a rawhide mallet. For the weaving wire, I'd always start with dead soft, it will work-harden a bit as you go. I did try using half-hard once, and it was tough going! 😁

      @mikeevans-nomadicaspiratio3672 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm discovering it's all about the type of wire. Definantly a very pliable, small gauge and a sturdy, thicker gauge base wire. I was getting gauged wire sizes and resulting in complete messes also lol. My small gage was too sturdy and my base wire too pliable. Wasn't working out and didn't help I was learning with 3 base wires. I fell back to two base wires now that I'm getting the wire styles.

    Thanks for your great videos! One thing nobody on utube is showing us, though, is how to finish off the wire in wire wrapping. Because those tiny wire ends can end up coming up and snagging your clothing. And other things. Even when you smoosh them down they can still come up and snag. In sewing you can run the thread underneath a few of the final ones. But in wire wrapping it's too tight to run your last bit back under a few stitches and then snip it off. Any suggestions?? Thanks 😊

    • @PaulBishopSingsTheBlues
      @PaulBishopSingsTheBlues 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Clip the wire with a small pair of cutters just as it exits from between the base wires at the end of your weaving. The closer you can clip it, the less it will snag.

    • @PaulBishopSingsTheBlues
      @PaulBishopSingsTheBlues 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can curve it as you go too. If you’re doing a tight turn though, your base wires will be in the way of the previous weaving, so just take your time moving the wire where it needs to go, and push the weaves together.

    Love your videos. Can I just ask how you anchor the wires at the start and finish

    • @LilyTree
      @LilyTree  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you Lisa! I just wrap the weaving wire three times around one base wire, both at the start and finish. I find this gives a solid enough anchor both whilst weaving and for the finished piece.
