    I cast things in resin and have wanted to learn how to do these more complicated wire wraps to make pendants but I've never been able to find a good tutorial. It was like it was a big secret nobody wanted to share. This was years ago, so I gave up. What I'm getting at is: thank you SO much for posting your tutorials. I am so excited to finish my resin pieces that have been gathering dust.

    I am so thankful and grateful you have created these tutorials, I have been making many styles of jewelry for a couple years, and I finally decided to buy some supplies to wrap cabs, because of your video right here exclusively. I clicked on other videos and your energy, voice, and great instructions to make a simple yet elegant piece is outstanding. Thank you so much, I am excited right now not even done with wrapping a beautiful green calcite right now with stainless steel 20 gauge and 28 gauge copper the two tone look is really pretty and it really makes this stone look so fabulous so far:) Thank you very much you are rockin the universe with great help to so many, I hope you are getting many blessings and great karma from these tutorials :) thank you again!

      +Bryan Dowling Thank you! I just keep the weaving wire on the spool as I work with it, I do not cut it until I am done with it, since you probably need a very long length of it.

    HELP! I'm working on this weave and I'm having some trouble. I did decide to do 7 instead of 5, but I figured it was still an uneven number so it should work out. It's hard to see on the video exactly what you are doing when you come back down. W on the way down the wire is in the middle, so when you go to pick up the two wires going down are you actually going around just one and a half times and then just grabbing the next two wires going down. I don't think I'm explaining this right. Wrap twice and you are in between and going over the top of the wire. Could you just show going down? I keep messing it up Do love your work.

    Oxana I have a lot of beads that do not have holes. Do you have other un-drilled tutorials for different shapes? Sometimes I have a hard time getting things to work with weaving different shapes of beads. It is hard to explain! But when I use the tutorial it makes it easier. I can go step by step and freeze the mode until I get caught up. That makes it nice! I look to you to inspire me with designs that I might be able to incorprate together. The drilled beads are easier to use, but I found a bunch of un-drilled beads that are so pretty! They are glass beads. Big bag for like 3 or 4 dollars. Can't go with that price! I am still learning! I have sold several so must be doing something right! LOL! Thank you for all the videos. I might of posted some pictures on your site on face book.

      any of my cabochon tutorial will work for undrilled stones. you would just bend the wire frame around whatever shape you are using, it may get a bit tricky if you have shapes with sharp corners, but can be done. Also if any of yours are large-ish in size a tree of life(especially the "frameless") would work well for those

    Do you have a tutorial for tumbled/polished small stones? I have a bunch of nickle to quarter sized gemstones, that are all different shapes. I have basic wire wrapping knowledge, but I don't know how to make a cage for a two or more stone piece. If you don't have one, would you consider doing one? I would really appreciate it :) All I need to know is how to make a cage on a whim... if that makes any sense :/ lol

    • @OxanaCrafts
      @OxanaCrafts  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you! This one is a little tricky, I much prefer this way here of securing a cabochon: th-cam.com/video/7ylASz0ojfo/w-d-xo.html For the piece that you already made, you could try maybe adding more wires to help secure it, like weave on 2 wires and then wrap that around your pendant kind of like extra decoration but also to hold the stone from the front, and just secure and tuck away the ends on back. Hope that helps!

    • @sunnyd3276
      @sunnyd3276 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    • @OxanaCrafts

    What options do we have when we run into the bail decor if ours doesn't look like yours?
    what I mean is. Mine look great except for the front only in the area covering the bail. Are there alternatives in using separate wire to fix any bail covering issues (hope that makes sense)?
    It's kinda disappointing when spending so much time on these and having the same issues repeat. ☺

    • @OxanaCrafts
      @OxanaCrafts  8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      you could take two wires and weave a pattern around them, then wrap them around the part by the bail that you don't like and want to cover, and just tuck them in and secure them on the back so the ends are hidden. Hope that helps!

    • @johnkennedy9078

  • @nklongmire
    @nklongmire 9 ปีที่แล้ว

    thank you so much.. great tutorial... i still have a problem with securing the stone.. but think it might be the cab i used... it has a straight edge rather than sloping.. or is there a trick i am missing to make the the wires around the side secure the stone? if i push from the back i can pop the cab out

    • @OxanaCrafts
      @OxanaCrafts  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +nklongmire you really want that front "window" that you can see the stone through to be smaller than the stone, if it will pop out trhough it then it is too big, the wires should go up onto the stone, they will cover up the edge of the stone, but this will secure it. Turn the weave a little sideways with your pliers, so it is not parallel to the edge of the stone but is kind of turned to go up onto the front, if that makes sense.

    hi oxana I absolutely love how beautiful your wire work is and how simple you make it ! thank you! I'm going to try this with a rough opal piece and an so excited to see it when it's done! just one quick question: how long do you keep your weaving wire- if you cut it or do you keep it coiled and just unroll a little more as you weave? thanks so much!

    • @OxanaCrafts

    Wow! Thank you for sharing your tutorial. Can this technique be used on a tumbled undrilled stone?

    • @OxanaCrafts

      +nandejesus It would be easier if the stone had a flat back like a cabochon, but if it is a relatively thin stone you can try it, it may work for it.

    Hi Oxana. Great tutorials and huge thank you. I am just starting out. I saw that there are tutorials for drilled and undrilled Stones. I love the ones for the undrilled and wondering how to use it for drilled stones. I want the weaving to go all the way around the stone like above and not just one side. Is there a way to do it? or would a person put a bead over where the hole is showing?

    • @OxanaCrafts
      @OxanaCrafts  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you! How is your stone drilled, if it is top to bottom, then you can just treat it like a cabochon since the holes will not be visible. If it is drilled up top front to back you can use a little bead or some sort of decoration to cover up that hole, maybe even just those wires up top coming down and covering the hole.

    • @OxanaCrafts
      @OxanaCrafts  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +DDMarla I just cut them relatively long knowing that I will be trimming off the excess at the end. I forget what I said in this video my length was, maybe like 10 inches. If your cabochon is much larger than mine, you would do longer.

    I really want to try to make this but I never had a cabochon and have no idea what size to purchase. I know there are charts online, but they are confusing to me. I like the size of this one that you are working with. I was wondering if you could tell me the approximate size to order to make one similar to the size you are using here? Thank you!!

    • @OxanaCrafts
      @OxanaCrafts  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Bead Nik Do you mean the size of the cabochon? I don't have this exact one anymore to be able to measure it, but it was less than one inch in size if that helps, probably like 3/4 inches tall.

    hi, I have a quick question. I've been doing wire wrap jewelry for awhile but never a cab wrap. I fell in love with this, you did amazingly. when I tried it I had a issue tho. I did the weave straight and when I went to wrap it around the stone It didn't want to wrap correctly became wavy. what would you suggest I did wrong?

    • @OxanaCrafts
      @OxanaCrafts  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hmm, I am not sure, do you mean like the base wires got wavy?

    • @asher5153

    • @OxanaCrafts
      @OxanaCrafts  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Is it 20 gauge, dead soft? I'm not sure why it is doing that. But this particular design can be a bit finicky. I personally like wrapping a cabochon this way better: th-cam.com/video/7ylASz0ojfo/w-d-xo.html

    Hi oxana, I want to know how you come up with the length for your base wires? Is it based on the circumference of the cabochons and you add or certain amount of inches the circumference length? I hope you are able understand my question.

    • @OxanaCrafts
      @OxanaCrafts  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I usually just guess and cut them extra long because I've had a few situations where they ended up too short and now I'm paranoid. After the first time of making something you can note how much extra you ended up with so you can cut shorter next time.

    Hi Oxana, I am going to attempt this tutorial using silver wire but I have only got enough 20 gauge for 4 base wires will it still work with 4 or can i use a length of 22 gauge as well? Also approximately how much weaving wire will I need ( i have about 70")?

    • @OxanaCrafts
      @OxanaCrafts  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I highly recommend the first attempt be in copper so expensive silver does not get wasted if it does not work out. I think you could possibly get away with 22 gauge for one of the wires. Unfortunately I always just keep the weaving wire on the spool when I weave, so I am not 100% sure how much got used, but if you end up running low you could always just do a bit less weaving(like on the top swirls).

    Another question? How do you know how long you should have your wire?

    • @OxanaCrafts
      @OxanaCrafts  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I usually provide measurements of how long the wires I am using are, but in some of my older videos I did not do that. I basically just eyeball it, and cut my wires to be extra long, because I figure it is better to have some extra to cut off at the end then to run out, and I work with copper so it is really cheap and not a problem to waste a little wire.
