    You are a natural teacher. Just a bit on myself, I'm a coppersmith, and in the past made custom copper weather vanes. Due to a back injury, I no longer practice metal sculpture, however, I stumbled upon wire weaving and your patient teaching techniques. Your work inspires me.

      Thank you so much! I took a class on metalsmithing, and it was very interesting, I had lots of fun learning the techniques. I don't really do it anymore, just stick with wire wrapping, since that is something I can do in my home without needing to get any expensive equipment and such, and also soldering gave me migraines for some reason, must the fumes from either the metal or the flux or something.

    Thank you so much for your teaching skills and artistic ability. I’ve been following you for six months and hadn’t seen this style . I have a goal to choose my Patreon support in the next two months. I know you will be there. It’s so great to feel a connection in this time when I can’t go to my teacher. You give caring teaching, and this is so important. As artists almost everyone needs nurturing or encouragement. It’s hard to do that in a video, you give that feeling, that you care that your students are relaxed, and have a good understanding of what you are doing. So Thank you Oxana.
    Have a blessed day,
    Val Orris

    Hey. This video is SO cool.. I love the incorporation of the caterpillar coils. It's now another one of my favorite videos of yours. I just love those coils and learning new ways to incorporate them in projects involving cabs. Videos like this and the multiple cab videos are my faves! I also like your new tree of life with the visible frame. I like that you have now given us both options to learn... see the frame or hide the frame. I also wanted to say I really liked the three connected citrine beads on the cord video. I'm so excited for your next multiple cabochon video. Thanks, Melissa

    You have the best tutorials. Great voiceover, love how you include your mistakes. Your designs are gorgeous and translate well to any design aesthetic. If I could suggest one small tip- record the tutorials in a white background. As cute as the birds are, your cam has a hard time focusing on your pieces and mostly focus on your artistic wall. I truly hate suggesting this but truly believe a solid background would take your videos to the next step. You could record a short intro with your wall going over the wire types, stone, etc that will be used in your tutorial. Hope this helps and I say it with the upmost respect!

    You do an amazing job. I just started a couple weeks ago and followed your tutorial. You wouldn't believe how beautiful this piece came out. I really wish that I could show you a picture on TH-cam, but I cant post one. You do such a great job step by step. I even oxidized it, and I'm going to make another one in silver with a really light cabochon.

    Hello Oxana, I have been following your videos for a few months and love them! You really are a great teacher and I have learned so much from you, now I'm at the point here of this level of wrapping. I cannot find any instruction on the more complicated wraps with multiple stones and smaller channeled set crystals through out a piece. Would you be able to make a video that shows how these smaller stones are kept in place? I'm about to pull my hair out!! lol can you please help! Thanks for all your great videos! 🍀🙏🍀

  • @noraramos3798
    @noraramos3798 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Darn again!!! I’ve had wonderful luck following your basic tutorials, but the one totally lost me when you started making the bail, and the last “heady” wrap lost me completely, basically from the start:( Maybe I’m just not meant to progress farther than the basics. I’m so frustrated! You have been my “go to” absolutely, for wire wrapping, due to your easy way with explanations and easy to follow steps. I have become really at ease with the basic wrapping techniques, until i decided to try the more “heady” looking pendants. My daughter wants one so badly, and silly me- it never occurred to me that I wouldn’t be able to do it! :( Thanks for trying, Oxana.

    • @OxanaCrafts
      @OxanaCrafts  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      oh no, I'm so sorry it did not work out :( Weaving heady designs can be especially tricky, I myself hardly ever do weaving these days due to the toll it takes on your hands. What if you try a slightly different approach, no weaving involved, but in my opinion still looks heady due to the large amount of wires around the stone: th-cam.com/video/CYQxc1DIdbY/w-d-xo.html

    can you PLZZZZZZ! post a video on how you determine the length of wire to cut without wasting a it or not having enough? I am just starting out and dont want to cut too little. Also how do you determine design? do you draw it out first and then stick to your plans or do you just wing it then make a 2nd one for the videos?

    • @OxanaCrafts
      @OxanaCrafts  7 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      I state the lengths in the video, so I started out with 3 pieces of 20 gauge wire, 10 inches each, the weaving wire I keep on the spool so no need to measure out. I don't have a specific way to estimate length, I just always cut super long pieces so this way I don't run out, and I always have some extra to cut off at the end. I don't draw, I just let the wire do what it wants, my videos are usually my 1st piece in that style, because I don't really like to make the same exact thing a second time.

      My husband sits down and helps me from time to time. He can make pieces if he really wanted to (he made me a tree and I keep it in my office). I appreciate the help, too. He will coil wires, do bails, make beaded strands and S rings for me, jumprings, and findings etc. It's kinda nice and mind numbing too after the hubbub of the day. Sometimes I can talk him into putting on his mask and melting copper headpin balls for me but that's a little more tedious/arduous and I usually end up buying headpins from other metal workers haha.

    Too fast and at the beginning you could have done a bit more to show people who are beginners how the pattern goes. Other wise I really like it...to bad won't be able to make it.
