Took this A5 wagyu strip steak and seared it quickly on my Traeger Grill Ranger. Tracked internal temperature with my Meater + wireless Bluetooth probe.
Just grilled an A5 for the first time and I can say 2 things. First, it cooks longer than you'd expect and you might get nervous. Trust the meat thermometer. Second, if you are used to eating 16+ oz of ribeye, 8-10oz of a5 waygu is plenty. It's so rich its ridiculous. Pair it with a dry semi-acidic red. Nothing sweet or jammy.
I didn’t eat it once when I was there and I lived there for two years 😢 I regret it too but I did just buy and 83 dollar steak on sale at the Japanese market
I've got a traeger ranger as well be hesitant to use it for searing ...did you close the lid to get the cast iron hot enough ? I've noticed it doesn't stay hot very long with the lid open
@@blackpillbackshots8489because of the fat in the beef. Cooking it rare won’t heat the fat up enough to fully render and release its flavor. Medium rare-medium is ideal for wagyu.
Looks good brother keep the good work up
Thank you for this tutorial🙏🏽

You don't really need a probe for this little steak babe.

Cast iron is supposed to stay hot longer and yea soon as u flip it close it back up to not loose that temperature
Where did you get these steaks from?
Nice. Only thing I’d say is that you should let the steak sit out of the fridge around 45min-and hour before cooking.
This is true for traditional steaks. I wouldn’t do this with a5 wagyu
I thought you weren’t supposed to use a MEATER when searing
Bro the grill was soaked in fat like it was hosed down lol
Overcooked. Best served rare.
A5 Wagyu (specifically) is not best served rare. Check it out.
Best served medium rare or in between medium rare and rare but not pure rare

Omg that poor fucking beautiful piece of wagyu. Destroyed on the traeger 🤦♂️
You gotta let it sweat before cookin that salt is just burning out an you should only flip once
Boy yall gotta learn to season yall food
How to cook an A5 wagu steak. Step 1 cook it like a steak😂 step 2 eat it...
Not enough needs more salt bro-the more fat there is the more salt is required to season properly
Questa steak e' fritta invece che arrostita
Il a filmé comme sa face, en mode instamerde
Over cooked
You gotta sear that fat better. You need to put it on its side.
just looks like a steak thats full of fat
Wagyu fat isn’t the same as regular beef fat.
sigh, hipsters.
Too funny
