Hi
Nick, you are the man. Thank you so much for this thorough breakdown. I didn't know how much I needed this in my life. You were amazing on masterchef. And I've enjoyed watching your channel and you grow as a chef.

I’m 14 and cooked my first ever steak in a pan, perfect medium rare and amazing crust. One of the best meals I’ve ever had
Nice dude you should try making chimichurri with that
I’m only ten and I made it and it was delicious and super easy
@@WEIRD_KIDS_ thanks I’ll try it.
I find it very pleasant to see young peoples trying out cooking steaks and enjoying the results
Remember, steak and potatoes are a match made in heaven

this one is probably one of the most useful videos Nick has ever created! Great explaining, extremely easy to understand even for those who are not into the steak world.
Hats off, Nick!
considering how his yt shorts have turned into parody side content, its great hes still making some serious vids
Fully agreed! ❤

Thank you so much for this video. I just finished watching season 10 of Masterchef and was so sorry you didn't win. Looked you up on the website of what season 10 folks were doing now, and it told me about your TH-cam channel. This is the first video of yours I have watched, and I just subscribed. I look forward to watching many more.
I'm a college student and have been cooking for myself this year. Your content is amazingly produced, and helps me to understand why certain decisions are made more than generic recipes. Keep up the good work!
He definitely burned that ribeye on the charcoal grill lol
Great presentation and I can see a lot of steak newbies picking up techniques easily here. One thing I do notice is that you can apply Guga’s cold grid technique to eliminate grill marks. Much better golden brown crust versus burnt marks.

I’ve been watching nick for so long. I started watching master chef the season he was there and immediately loved his personality and skill in the kitchen. I’ve been subscribed for just over a year and a half now
Hi Nick! After seeing this video i was really inspired. I made my first steak today which i paid around 17 dollars for and seeing as this was a first time thing, i had low expectations. It turned out i had nailed the crust and also gotten a beautiful medium rare. This video really helped to understand how i should make steaks and i really appreciate it!
college kid here! finally learning how to cook good meals on a budget, and this helped A LOT. thank you soooo much for this vid :)
That's why i love Nick, he's giving the world a full tutorial, perfectly made, of how cooking steaks works. Thanks bud
Nick your a real inspiration, your videos are the reason why i fell in love with cooking and now its even the job i want to get when i graduate. Really love your videos thank you so much for all the tips and recipes i want to try.
Nick! I want your opinion and I hope you see this. My father (rest in peace) had perfected his steak cooking to what I called a medium rare plus. Perfect warm red center but the trim was just turning pink, just breaking the layer of medium. Such a beautiful flavor even for a $2 steak sometimes. God I miss his cooking almost as much as I miss him. Love the content Nick!
I'm fascinated by your cooking style! As a cooking content creator, I appreciate the effort you put in to make your recipes so engaging and easy to follow
yeah, this is a really good presentation.
never really been one much for rare/medium rare.i know some folks like it.
however your cow geography lesson is brilliant.
Huge fan of sirloin and filet mignon as a dish, but the chuck steak as a cheap cut for barbecues sounds like a plan! looks a very nice cut of meat with plenty of marbling.should be a very nice flavour without too much effort to demolish any trims
Inspiring and educational, thank you! I purchased a skirt, ribeye, and picanha steak and our family had a cook off and shared the end products. They were all delicious. It was a fun way to get the family together.
Honestly been cooking for years and never thought of that against the grain part for the skirt steak, every other steak, just never once considered it for the flank for some odd reason so as much as I know alot I learned something new! Lol appreciate you Nick! Love your videos almost as much as I'd love to win that gift card lmaooo been wanting to order from them here in Canada for a year now but just can't spare the extra money at this time lol
Thank you so much for the tips I used this to cook a fillet mignon for my moms birthday 🎉 she was happy and loved she said it was the best steak she ever had and I know she being because she knows because she is an amazing cook herself and so happy to give her the same joy that she has given. Thank you Nick 🫡

Nick is one of the best teachers on TH-cam. I learned more about beef and where it comes from on the animal and how to cook it all in one video today.
Great class, quick but full of information that makes all the difference.
Thanks Nick!
This video was incredible to watch. I've learnt so much about steaks. Thank you Nick.
Best video ever! Thank you for the details and at the same time being concise - and presenting all the different cuts with samples 👍
Amazing as always Nick! That was so helpful!. you just gotta appreciate the effort that Nick put in this video.
Wow, wow, wow. I need to apply these methods ASAP. You did something incredible here Nick, just like you always do :). Love your vids!

My big brother once cooked some steak for the family at the dinner table using the searing method and 🤤 ohh boy that was the BEST Medium-Rare steak if my entire lifevhe cooked it exactly like u showed in the video and for his first time cooking a medium-rare steak it was very VERY good
Nick, I really want to thank you for all the effort you put in it. Gonna utilise this to cook steak for my sister's birthday!
hope you better make that steak bussin
went from well done to medium to medium rare with the help of this video, and shopping for a steak never been easier, thanks chef Nick!
I am just starting to learn how to cook steak for my partner. Before I was leaning towards medium well to medium, but now I appreciate medium rare a lot these days. I guess it really is just a matter of getting used to. Thanks for these tips!
great video.
I've been eating wagyu regularly for the past 25 years - at one point I was eating it 3 times a week due to the many business dinners all over Japan... I can say that nowadays (I'm almost 50 yrs old), I prefer much less fat but still very tender. there is a cut called akami (filet mignon) but has almost zero fat. it was amazingly good - rich with flavor. I still enjoyed marbled beef once and a while but eat it much less often.
That was steak heaven! I've learned from this. I knew some of the techniques, but now I have much more to practice. Thank you Nick!
Fantastic video, Nick! Your guide on choosing the right cut and how to cook it perfectly was incredibly insightful. I can now see where I have not been using the right cooking method on the different cuts. Also appreciated the tips on slicing the steak - makes a real difference. Planning a small birthday dinner and will use your suggestions. Liked, already subscribed!
I love your videos, they make me so hungry. I love cooking, so it’s always amazing to learn new recipes from your videos
Yo Nick, I am basically make your biggest fan yesterday. I got your cookbook in life drop well it’s about if you see this is probably not gonna be yesterday. I just wanna say I will live your cookbook and it is amazing.
you genuinely have no idea how much this helped me, after messing up with a tenderloin (no crust) i realized exactly where i went wrong and wont make the same mistakes next time. thanks for this video, saved the next steak ill get my hands onto lol
Nick is the definition of a person I can never keep up at cooking. Even I get that good, I probably can't afford the ingredients Nick uses as a casual snack.
bro if you get that good u wont be broke no more fr
he can probably write off the food he buys as a business expense 😂
doesnt mean you cant use the same techniques on a cheaper cut of beef!

people like you think money appears magically for everyone, stop this pity party on yourself, wont help you
Man, I make steaks with my dad all the time but they were never really that good until I tried dry brining. What a difference. Actually was the perfect steak thanks so much
appreciate you. great video, direct and to the point without tons of fluff.
Love how you combine physics and cooking to get the right steak, keep up the good work!

This is the first time I've seen you, but I love all this info about steak. Now---to try to remember them!
That was an eye opener! I'm 74 and have been grilling wrong all this time. I just bought 2 thick rib eyes yesterday and I will be using your grilling technique. Actually, I think I'll just try all of them! Thank you.
Nick your modern videos are cool, but I've been really missing your full-on cooking tutorials. Awesome vid, hope to see more like this :)
I like your videos because I learn a lot and they'll very interesting unlike other cooking shows that you just kind of get bored and just end up not watching.
The Sous Vide really blew me away, I will try it! Sear at the end, wow!
At the age of 15, i learnt how to make pasta by hand, made dishes adults cant make and learnt how to make perfect steaks in lots of different ways, and mostly because of these videos, thanks nick
actually i did the exact same thing and same age
It's insane how good you are at cooking, dude

Amazing video! I sucked at cooking steak and I went and tried these methods and I'm already so much better! Thank you Nick! ❤
My mouth has been watering the whole time.
Thanks nick you never stoped making us appetized
I learned a lot from this because I am not a good cook when it comes to steak and I am going to be cooking 18 steaks for a gender reveal party but this helped me a lot and the payment was 300 dollars because I had to cook the steaks and I had to buy the steaks, thank you. I thought the marbling was just a bad part but actually a really juicy and delicious part.
do u get the 300 dollars as payment for cooking the steaks or to buy them? cuz 300 dollars for 18 steaks is pretty cheap.
GREAT VIDEO! On my way to eat some of those steaks now!
Incredibly helpful and informative thanks for the quick and lasting education
Thank you for teaching me to be more adventurous with my cooking methods
True legend! Who else can’t stop watching nicks video because of how delicious they look!
They just get better and better as they go on
Always a good day when Nick posts 😊
Yeah
Such a well made video. Thank you for sharing
Picanha and Tri-Tip are both one of mt favorites
I think you might want to try experimenting with adding pepper to steaks after cooking rather than before. surprisingly pepper burns pretty easily so if you're cooking at a high temp you're basically just burning it right off and not getting any benefit from it, whereas if you add it after cooking you'll get all the benefit from the pepper flavor. Try it out and see what you think.
As a steak, I can perfectly relate to this video. Well done.
Best steak tutorial video I’ve ever seen!
Nick if you are reading this. Please bring back the og content, like this video. When youd show us how to make things and do really interesting cooking challenges. After looking through 70+ videos on how to cook stakes in the grill. Here comes Nick, makes one video and tackles all the noise in TH-cam in 17:51 minutes. Great job
the only bad thing about all of these videos is that I don't have the time, expertise, materials, OR money to cook or buy this, but it looks so good that it gives me a craving immediately
This helped me so much, thanks Nick!
