What's wild is that even with the crappy sound quality, Layne's snare still sounds pristine! Like an actual drum. It's also clear that they're used to listening to each other. They were in tune and played off each other so well. I'd love to see them live.
What impresses me the most though, every time, is during the breakdown (where the mouth lights are used in the og vid) the first bass is Layne's lip buzz, which sounds just insane.
I have a playlist of Voiceplay live. lol I believe that Eli did the Santa voice in their studio recording. Not sure, no proof. Thanx for doing this one, Dennis,
I think I've heard that Eli actually dubbed the Sandy Claws lines on the original video, that was Geoff's brother-in-law playing the role, but not supplying the voice.
That was awesome first time I heard the live version. I'm hoping to go see voctave November 3rd in Florida. They also have shows coming up Greenville South Carolina December 1st and Birmingham Alabama December 5th. I hear they have a new album coming out sometime soon can't wait
I think the version on Stacy Tee’s channel has a better sound, check that one out! Also, I wanna recommend “VoicePlay Prom Video Diary” on TH-cam channel Hannah .Markeson . It shows their sense of humour in little snippets from what I guess was a rather normal VoicePlay show performance (from when Tony was still in the group). But protect your ears because there is some audience screaming! I wish so much I could see them live some time, but living in Sweden I guess it won’t happen soon...
Also, nobody is doing the Santa voice, there's still a backing track including stuff like the OG Santa's voice from the music video. I mean.. who do you think is doing the bassline hm?
imagine being a subwoofer just trying to do your job and seeing Geoff walk in

Love that you've been reacting to some of the live versions of shows. BTW, VoicePlay's next release to TH-cam is on this Friday, Sept. 16th

I believe Marcelo Bass's channel has the same performance. There's another - Stacy Tee's, where the intro was missed, but the rest is 🤯
There's a much higher quality (still not great but better) from another performance

Not the best sound quality from the sound system, but definitely the best sound quality from them.
