I just saw Wang Chung last night as part of the Totally Tubular Festival in Montreal and no joke the crowd went nuts when they played this song. What an exuberant anthem to joy!
Im living in Spain now and told a group of British friends that one of my favorite 80s bands was Wang Chung. They hadn't heard of them. They'd heard of every other British band i mentioned, but not Wang Chung. I remain perplexed. 😳
@@zzzzxxxx341happy for you man. My dad introduced me to this so when im in my 84 f body i just blast wang chung, hall and oats, reo speed wagon, wasp, etc. you guys had it good!
I was 8-18 during the best decade ever. What a time to be alive. The 80’s were just different. You could still just be a kid, the innocence and naivety of youth. The music and movies were off the charts! Love Wang Chung
I saw Wang Chung last night in a concert venue -- these guys are great! They gave us a wonderful show that concluded with "Let's Go," followed by "Dance Hall Days," and of course, "Everybody Have Fun Tonight." As they began playing "Let's Go" and asked us to stand up and share the joy, we all started clapping and dancing to the chorus for a totally joyful musical experience. It's such a happy song -- thanks Wang Chung for the last 40 years of good music.
I'm so glad I grew up in the '80s. Look at this duo--a couple of cruelly handsome dudes who dress sharp as a tack and have incredible music talent and awesome voices to boot. It's impossible to listen to this masterpiece of a song and not be filled with the urge to smile and be joyful, even if it is a relatively simple tune.
Yes Lissa great music for our generation we had such variety of music in r&b, alternative, pop, rock. But in the GIANT 80S MELTING POT of our decade it was perfect the ingredients of our clothes, food and cars etc. Long live our 80s
In my opinion, one of the greatest crescendos of a bridge verse (before moving into chorus) in Pop Music history - stunning! Bridge starts at 2:58 and climaxes around 03:18 with the "slightly delayed" backing female voice coming through "whoohooo"- Wow! It has always been my favourite Wang Chung song - listen to it every now and then - it is uplifting. Glad I'm (clearly) not alone in "feeling" this song.
What a track. The energy and euphoria of songs like these will never be surpassed. Lyrics very much remind me of the first year of all of my LT relationships. You know when you're so infatuated and in love it's coming out your ears? Yep, that.
Literally, forgot this was one of their songs. Was reading about them on Wikipedia and couldn’t place this single. That catchy chorus brings back memories of riding my Murray Bmx listening to a mix tape on my Gpx Walkman.
Amazing how much stuff is buried within the mind. I completely forgot about this song and video until I watched it just now. The memories come flooding back!
+breakpack I was about to make almost this exact comment, but since you've said it for me, I'll just reply yours.... 4 months later. :D Yeah, this is the stuff that was blaring through our house when I was kid, and tonight I'm on a quest to find my old childhood soundtrack. Seems like there was background music to everything my parents and us kids did, and my parents liked so many different kinds of music, so stuff like Wang Chung, Yaz, Depeche Mode, Dream Academy, The Pogues, Tom Waites, The Pixies, was ALWAYS playing somewhere. I'm pretty sure I was the only kid in kindergarten that knew who Concrete Blonde was (can't be certain, though. It's not as if I took a poll.) So yeah, hearing this transported me back to the old house in Pittsburgh, and my night just got so much better.
I was 10 when this came out, now 42.... the chorus suddenly popped into my mind out of NOWHERE today! I used to really like it and always sang along on the radio :) Let's go baby let's go baby come onnnn!
Who is listening to this in March 2020? I absolutely am in love with this song. I can't get it out of my head and I don't want it to ever leave my memories. : )
these guys were really underrated. the soundtrack to "to live & die in l.a." is an overlooked classic. i remember seeing them on a show where they played one of their songs and then did a great cover of nelly's "hot in herre".
Wang Chung!! I danced too this song at a Manhattan block party! This past summer!! I had the best time!! Everyone was happy and partying!! Thanks Wang Chung!! And have fun!!
Born 1979 , suddenly this tune came to mind and searched for it under “top of the world” but hummed the tune in my mind until the lyrics came and boom “let’s go baby let’s go bay cmon” and here we r!
I never heard this song in the 80s but now I freaking LOVE it! I can hear the all day long over & over &over & over.. Everybody have fun tonight is my other favorite song!! Wonderful 80s music. Why did it have to end? In my mind Im still there!!!
I remember the first time I saw this video. Me and two of my fellow Marines were in Tijuana on a Saturday afternoon in a bar which had televisions along the wall and they were set to MTV.
Every generation since about the 1940's has been very different than the previous decade, both in music and fashion........up until the early 2000's. Fashion and music basically stagnated but we all have our old music to fall back on.
Say Amen if you lived through the greatest decade of our lives. I mean the 80's. God bless you if you did.
So true.
Amén!
Amen brother
Amen!
Amen!!
The 80s music is amazing. In my opinion, it is the greatest musical era.
I just saw Wang Chung last night as part of the Totally Tubular Festival in Montreal and no joke the crowd went nuts when they played this song. What an exuberant anthem to joy!
Saw them the next night in Toronto, and last month in Toronto as well 😁
Totally Tubular has awakened my interest in Wang Chung. They were so great live. "Exuberant anthem to joy" is the perfect description of this song.
I was a teenager in the 80s and I’m so grateful for that.
Listening 2024. Once again.
Never stopped listening
Im living in Spain now and told a group of British friends that one of my favorite 80s bands was Wang Chung. They hadn't heard of them. They'd heard of every other British band i mentioned, but not Wang Chung. I remain perplexed. 😳
Such an underrated song. They don't play this one on the radio enough.
They don't play it at all where I live.
They just played it now on the radio, and there are goosebumps all over my body. I feel as though I'm 17 again, I miss my younger self. Let's go!
@@zzzzxxxx341happy for you man. My dad introduced me to this so when im in my 84 f body i just blast wang chung, hall and oats, reo speed wagon, wasp, etc. you guys had it good!
Afortunadamente en México si, tenemos 2 estaciones de los 80' que la ponen seguido ..
I just heard it at the shopping center tonight and thought omg I’ve never heard it on the radio lol
The 80's were the absolute best💃🤸💃🤸💃🤸💃🤸
I was 8-18 during the best decade ever. What a time to be alive. The 80’s were just different. You could still just be a kid, the innocence and naivety of youth. The music and movies were off the charts! Love Wang Chung
100 percent true, then music started to change for the worse then technology complicated everything
I don't think it was technology, as much as it was money that ruined it; to much "manufactured" musi, and not enough talent!@@mikefox3939
12 - 22 here
late teens into 20s.
Great music, TV and Movies.
The 80s rocked!
Even me 🤙
I love the way Wang Chung were able to build their songs to a crescendo.

Everbody have fun tonight,,,,,Everybody WANG CHUNG TONIGHT!!!!!
Let's go, baby! Let's go, baby! C'mon!
Essential eighties! It should be mandatory listening!
Still here in August of 2024
I remember watching hours and hours of these types of primitive music videos in the 80's when Mtv was new and actually played music (Good Music)
maybe pri, itive but full of style
''primitive music videos'' :D ....cheesy special effects ...but still eye candy even today .
They played this song at a WARRIORS playoff game against the jazz in 1987. The crowd was SCREAMING the chorus.
Shoulda been way bigger than it was.... elite 80's pop.

one of the best comments i have ever read..... ever, spot on
omigosh. The fashion from the 80s *needs* to come back. Shoulder pads !!
Graduated July 1980. Good times. Greatest musical decade ever. Fight me!
I can remember this on the cassette 87 right on track , long live the 80's .... best music ever !!
Yes, I absolutely agree! The 80's was the best decade for rock and pop music!!!
:) :)
*FACTS* *
Remember it was one of those clear tapes.
I still have an embarrassing number of cassette tapes LOL

Great song that you hardly hear on the radio anymore despite it reaching #9 in the Spring of 1987
Yeah it must've been realised end of '86 cause this song reminds me of '87, even '88.
los 80s me recuerdan mucho cuando en mi barrio unas jóvenes bailaban en una tarima esta canción. Una de ellas me llamaba mucho la atención.
this classic of SONG called 🤙 LET'S GO#1 WANG CHUNG ALSO best of the best
I came for the music, I stayed for the sholderpads.

Man this is such an awesome song, takes me right back.
This is one of those songs that pops into my head when I feel down and need a bit of self-motivation. Just a super positive message.

long live the 80s. The best era for hit songs, cheap aussie food and great night clubs
the movies from the 80s were also Better. Now we see CGI remakes

TREMENDA banda de los 80...tremenda
Su disco mosaico de 1986 u 87, fué un gran trabajo, plagado de buenas canciones!! La canción que más me gustó fué betrayal
This is my favourite track out of Wang Chung's entire discography. I love Nick Feldman's vocals in this one especially.
Wang Chung never receive the recgognition it truly deserved.
The ultimate 80's song,excellent!!
I was lucky enough to have the 60's, 70's and 80's for music. There will never be music like this again.
For me, this song is vibes of junior high school, when the world made sense.
I wish they would tour together with Hall and Oates. They are like a
British version of them ☺ That would be epic.
Let's go now.. 😊thank you Lord for best 80..90's songs..

What years we've lost. Luckily we lived them
I leave the 1980s Vevo channel on to sleep and I thought this song was just a really weird dream I was having.
My favorite Wang Chung song. 1987, when I turned 21, such a great time

If this came out today it would be a huge hit.
I think this was already a hit.
Sadly, With Music today, Wouldnt be heard!
It hit #9 on the Billboard Hot 100 in April 1987 but IMHO it should've been a #1. It just doesn't get any catchier than this.
@@coolcat6303 this was released after Everybody Have Fun Tonight.
