No way we are putting offset bunker over good old wall stacking times, back when metal and stone walls had the same health, qgm was a rare resource, TC had no upkeep... It was a wild time and many things are better now. But the fun of being able to build what ever footprint you want, squeeze walls into absolutely unexpected places...this will forever be peak build to me
Last wipe I made it through relatively unscathed thanks to the vending machine in the doorway in front of the TC. I was solo and a duo tried raiding my base twice in the same day but were never able to find it, or the main loot under a bunker in the floor. So both times I rebuilt after.
my variant needs to be demolished within 10min though, or the bunker stays open, which makes it situational, but its perfect for my designs which use conveyors to access the bunkers

stair bunker S tier imo you can replace the bags from the same spot you can rocket them from and double half walling makes it fool proof with the triangle splash bug
The vending machine bunker can be used with boxes as well. Just put a square foundation lootroom with a triangle shelf and place the boxes as close to the doorframe entrance as possible, then seal with a vending machine, code lock all boxes and add an armored door. It requires a bit of practice to get the placement right on all four boxes and it sucks when you mess it up mid wipe, but it's super easy to integrate into basically any base layout. A two triangle lootroom is also possible with a container skin triangle staircase as a shelf. This one can only hold two boxes tho, not four.
The vertical tc bunker can be doubled up to access through 2 armored walls, making it literally the most efficient space to protection possible. Plus, if you pick up boxes or siren lights, it's impossible to exploit the weakness. It's definitely difficult to build, but a core with 3 bunkers each having 2 walls with no way to know what's inside is a very unappealing raid. Plus, a rug hides the bunker completely. Or you could build 9 bunkers and call it a day for the same cost all within honey comb.
What about the crash over-ride bunker mechanism (Dirac) and the Triangle Roof Chute Seal via Full Height Foundation (Inigo Phentoya)? These 2 bunker mechanism are more obscure but very viable. There are also the pay-to-win skin bunkers as well.

Definitely controversial. Its S tier bunker. Had multiple pixel gap bunkers within base, and on raids nobody ever broke em. Multiple bases, multiple wipes. Best bunker.

Hi, your bases is very nice, i wish i will create this cool bases as yours! My favorite one is: The Jupiter. The base is pretty old, but it has large opencore and 3 bunkers! Building this base everytime!
Great video, very educational. I will say that the horizontal pixel bunker for tc imo is S tier. I leave the two half walls to sheet metal and upgrade one of them to the shipping container skin (P2W) which completely eliminates the gap, making it impossible to shoot out tc. At least I’ve never had anyone shoot it out, yet I have others shoot out tc behind the vending machine. If you have a goodbase design, you can also make it so that you can recreate the gap in case you do get raided. The OG 2 raised foundations bunker is also underrated. You really only need to have one raised btw, and have the other one unraised and also have a halfwall on top. This is useful since you can fit 3 furnaces or a battery. It’s a great bunker for a simple base. People are too lazy to softside HQM and it’s a good bunker if you’re not looking to play much. The terrain bunker is imo S tier as well and likely my favorite bunker in the game. I always use this bunker, but I make it a bit different. You actually don’t need two roof pieces, just one will suffice. You do have to upgrade the twig foundation to wood though to prevent molly or incin rocket raiding. This is my favorite starter/farm/flank/monument design. It’s literally a standard 2x1, with one extra foundation and one extra wall (I upgrade them to metal to deter soft siding). I have been building these for years now and have never had anyone softside it. It’s stupid cheap to build and easy. It’s a goated base/bunker since it’s just an upgraded 2x1. Also, there is another terrain bunker that uses half walls that I came up with (seen it in videos afterwards though). I never use it since it doesn’t allow for honeycombing. However, for group bases that utilize an inner core, it’s a phenomenal bunker. There is one more bunker that is my current go to. No one knows it and I will never reveal it because it’s a remake of a previous bunker that FP patched years ago. They patched it because it was frankly broken. You can literally implement it in any base, at any place, and it doesn’t take any extra room. However, they overlooked their fix and there is a workaround. If others find out about it, FP will patch it again and I can’t risk that. They’ve already patched enough of my favorite bunkers ☹️.
Sorry but any bunker that requires a building technique before building the starter is F tier. I chose not to include any P2W skins in this video. Vending TC works great if you know how to place it correctly. Terrain bunker isn't S tier as it only works on one type of design. The foundation doesn't need to be wood. You need two roof pieces to join together to seal off the twig. Facepunch have never purposely patched any bunkers, it's always an unfortunate knock on effect from fixing bugs in the game and improving quality of life.
@@CrowRust I would normally agree that requiring building technics prior to even putting tc down is pretty lame. I have definitely avoided some builds because of this. However, since it’s so easy to do I personally never find it annoying, but can easily see how others would avoid it. I’m just so used to it since all my mains use it. Fair enough about not wanting to use P2W skins, makes sense. You’re right, terrain bunkers do only work for one type of design, but nothing comes close to their efficiency for that specific type of base. I only use them for my starter/farm/monument/flank base or if all I want to do is fuck around and know I will likely only be on for like 2 days. I have genuinely obsessed over creating the cheapest possible base that’s actually viable for the above use cases. The simple 2x1 is king. All the terrain bunker does is add an extra layer of protection to a 2x1 by only using an extra triangle sheet metal foundation and 1 sheet metal wall. There is literally no cheaper base design that’s as viable, I have spend an embarrassing amount of hours figuring this out. I know the standard terrain bunker and yes, for that one you don’t need to upgrade the twig to wood. However, mine is slightly different so it’s actually vulnerable to mollies and incen rockets if you leave it twig. If you upgrade it to wood, it can still be destroyed, but it requires I think around 2k low grade which makes it not worth. Regardless, no other base/bunker has been more useful for me so agree to disagree.
Some guy on Rusty Moose US Small was saying he found an 'ez freehand offset bunker. When I asked about it, someone else just told me he's full of it and I should just go check out your channel lol.
You are truly the king of bunkers in Rust. I changed the metric to rockets to all loot on my site and your bases are so beefy and takes soo many rockets to raid because of all the great bunkers your bases have!
The only bunker I've really used is the terrain. Good small solo base especially early game when you don't have metal for doors. Wrap wood exterior area for staging and add drop boxes to move equipment in and out. The added bonus is raids go for the wood lower tier wall outer section and usually only gain lower value loot.
Definitely I most like rotatable vending bunker. It's easy to set up. But I have a issue.. if I upgrade to hqm frame is thinner and expose loot room beside it. Any fix?
So, I'm very confused. I thought this video was from when the original patch went out where people thought pixel bunkers were patched, but people found workarounds. However, not only is this video new, it's the only video I could find talking about the bunkers being patched. Is this true?
3:30 - Unless this has changed recently, you can absolutely build the horizontal pixel gaps such that you can't shoot through them. GameLightz has a tutorial to do it reliably (you linked the old tutorial in the description). While it's tricky to get the first one placed, once you do, you can intelligently build out from your high and low foundations and put those bunkers all over your base, all without the need to redo the bunker. As a result, you can basically turn any honeycomb into another bunker, put them in your externals, and so on. The most annoying thing about them is their lack of storage, but if you think of it in terms of storing only your boom, scrap, fuel, T3 weapons, and face masks, it winds up being plenty. Regardless, I've turned simple 2x2s with honeycomb into 60+ rocket nightmares that have never been fully raided and have always had what I needed to farm up for a rebuild. Edit: @Gabe has a free-hand wall-stacking method that prevents raiders from firing through the gap on the side entirely, even with sheet metal. The gaps you get into your wraparound are so sick, too.
I use the vanilla bunker, as the game is designed, I only leave the wall space for when I get the necessary item and that's it, it doesn't take up extra space and it doesn't have weak foundations and you have to break a high quality wall
I switched from pixel-offset to floor-stack-offset.. the latter still work as an offset bunker. only down side is slightly weaker honeycomb on one side of the base due to floor-offset foundations cannot be paired with the ordinary foundations
The Pixel TC being F is wild I could understand it being lower but damn, its really easy to build in a way that makes shooting the TC almost imposable, it can be used anywhere in a base, I use that to hide the TC in random honeycomb, and not only can it be used for battery's, the medium battery is not shootable through the gap, and if you place root combiner and branch on the inside you can reattach anything broken on the outside, and on top of that it can be stacked, I regularly build 3 pixel gapped triangles in a row where it goes, locker, battery, TC, and I haven't been TC raided at all this year, I'm not even sure when it last happened the previous year.
W video, 2 things: RIP floor pixelgap bunkers. They have hid my loot through countless raids. Best bunker in the game. Vertical pixelgap is the future, just use the sheet variant(you can fit a tc and a coffin in a single triangle this way. If you build 3 of these puppies throughout your base noone will fully raid you EVER.
Any bunker that requires some kind of technique before building the starter isn't good for progression. There are far better alternatives. The fact that it saved your base is irrelevant since any bunker could potentially do that. But you're welcome to build whatever you like - it's just a game after all.
You don't have to use the ladder for the raised triangle foundation bunker, use a hatch, that way there's a permanent way in or out that also adds a few rockets protection.
@crowrust forgive me for asking but will The Fabergé still be possible after the change. Thats probably my favorite base ive built and definitely was planing on giving it another go tommorow. Thanks
The vertical pixel bunker isn't pointless! You can upgrade it to sheet metal, allowing you to open and close it using the shipping container skin, making it harder for anyone to destroy or get an angle to attack what's behind it unless they use 4 C4.
thoughts on push bunkers? idk if you would even consider them bunkers but there are ways to make it so you must break through armored structures to get through so i would say they are 🤷♂️
Pixel gap TC being in F is a crime theyre one of the most powerful building tecs in the game and have saved so many of my wipes Pros: Hides TC making it almost impossible for raiders to get to With a bit of practice, can be integrated into any build Can also have a vending machine and locker with TC if made on a square foundation, providing for even more protected loot Indestructible if no small boxes are left behind Can easily be combined with other bunkers to make strong unraidable**** bases Can save your entire wipe because raiders often dont have enough boom to reach it Cons: Kinda hard to learn how to make (skill issue) Kinda hard to learn how to access (skill issue) There’s really never not a reason to have a pixelgapped TC unless you really NEED the space or if you just suck at building. Its really not hard to make at all and ive found it to be way more useful in so many wipes
I dislike building techniques that must be done before building the starter, nothing to do with skill. Multi TC roof bunkers coupled with vending machine TC is the best combination in my opinion. If I put a vertical pixel gap in one of my TH-cam bases, the video would most definitely fail as most people can't be bothered with it. Again, it's just my opinion - if it works for you then keep doing it. The argument of "it saved my wipe" could be applied to any bunker, regardless if there are better options available.
@CrowRust That's fair. I've been working on designs that integrate it easily into the starter and ive found ways to do it quickly and efficiently. Hopefully more people will start to use it as the couple extra seconds it takes to make almost always pays off
@@CrowRustthat said, I feel like inaccessibility shouldn't completely override the strength of the bunker. It's a bit like saying Bradley loot is F tier because you'll get rolled by an 8 man.
@@sp00der23 That's not a very good comparison. I took all factors into account when ranking the bunkers. Not just strength. Quality of life comes first in my eyes though.
Rock bunker can be soft raided any way if you put Twig Floor under roof (the soft side of the wall will appear). Multi TC Roof Bunker can be done with one TC - Roof Triangle allow to connect split pieces
I misunderstood what you said. But you're wrong, if you attach a twig floor the wall still can't be softsided as the roof covers 50% of the wall so converts it to hardside.
Im testing the raised foundation bunker and Im unable to splash the foundation through the wall, which means they must of fixed that which means this bunker becomes an S tier for a solo/duo.
Floor pixels can still be done. The popular methods to make it don't work anymore but using the the same method used for horizontal pixels you also end up with a vertical pixel on the 2 origin foundations/ On a side note, the horizontal pixel can be used on upper floors to hide 2 boxes in a completely enclosed square or 3 lockers in 2 triangles which allows for a lot of not very obvious spots to stash loot that are easily missed by raiders. No other bunker allows for this level of obscurity - The F tier on the horizontal pixel is pretty uninspired
Any bunker that requires some kind of building trick before the starter is automatically F. The recent offset workarounds are dumb too, basically just floorstacking.
great job summing all that info crow although i disagree with few ranks is there any way to protect the HQM triange on stability bunkers from getting splashed alongside the honeycomb? i didnt knew that you effectively dont have honeycomb on that side :(
the raised triangle roof bunker with the wood square and roof tile. you cannot splash the raised triangle foundation through the wall i use it in a lot of my bases cause its so easy to just add to your base.
nice video, i love people show an idea instead of a full base design so more experienced builder can use it into their own design. the vertical container bunker still a thing? the metal one with container skin not the hqm, i just spent 30 hr on a cheap mutiple vertical metal pixel gap base and i dont want it to be ruined alredy
yea lots of my favourite base builds are outdated now, can still rebuild them without the bunker but meh, really annoying that rust is removing all of the bunkers but i understand why.
i’m so confused with how bunkers work tbh, are you supposed to just leave it open while you’re online then close them before you get off? or are you supposed to keep closing them then kill ur self each time u come home to re open them? pls help
Spiral stair bunker is B tier at least, if you put a single door frame on top or a triangle ceiling (which is dirt cheap) above it you can't get down it, it works in so many bases I used it in a very good 2x1 design and it is very very easy to build. The only weakness I can see with it is that it can be soft sided in 26 minutes with 5 jackhammers + workbench with a single door frame I don't think more than one person can softside at a time. And on 500+ pop servers 26 minutes is to much time because of counters. And if you don't have a workbench outside they have to get their own and they still have to grab their own jackhammers.
suicide bunker is A tier for solo only, seriously its literally the strongest design physically possible, no gaps no build issues only drawback is loot transfer time its really good for solo and bad for anyone else.
Another very informative video Crow, thanks for this, I'm on console and still use the pixel and god bunkers alot, not sure for how long though lol, another thing, since when did vendies drop loot when destroyed I though they didn't? Cheers
Agree with most of the ratings, but sui bunker i would put it on B atleast, you can transfer your loot just by F1 killing looking at the ceiling and putting your back agaisnt the wall, that way your character bugs through the wall, and only YOU can see it and loot it... Also you can make that bunker in just 1 triangle space, takes a bit of practice but you can place a bag and a small box inside, so for hidding loot in honeycomb is good too... Still a pain in the ass tho
I used to keep up with all of this but recently I just built bunkers I sealed off and put a bag in there and put two or 4 drop boxes on it its annoying but I mainly just use it for tc and valuable loot.
Many of these are about to be broken by another ridiculous attempt by facepunch at removing bunkers! Why is everything in rust balanced around the Zerg 😡

It is possible to freehand it but not reliable
You are truly the king of bunkers in Rust. I changed the metric to rockets to all loot on my site and your bases are so beefy and takes soo many rockets to raid because of all the great bunkers your bases have!
Great video! It'd be useful for people if you'd add chapters for each type of bunker.
Any fix?
you can rotate the wall
Did they fix that Vending Machine Bunker? I can't seem to open anything behind it due to the "rotate" option being there..?
Put something in the vendy mate
@@CrowRust Perfect, cheers!
So, I'm very confused. I thought this video was from when the original patch went out where people thought pixel bunkers were patched, but people found workarounds. However, not only is this video new, it's the only video I could find talking about the bunkers being patched. Is this true?
yes, workarounds have now been patched too.
Hey man. Is the horizontal pixel gap for tc still working? Thanks.

@@CrowRust ty
You're the best crow. I've been using your bases for ages now
I use the vanilla bunker, as the game is designed, I only leave the wall space for when I get the necessary item and that's it, it doesn't take up extra space and it doesn't have weak foundations and you have to break a high quality wall
Crow which one of your bases would you recommend for a solo on vanilla?
The Vanilla 2x1
I switched from pixel-offset to floor-stack-offset.. the latter still work as an offset bunker. only down side is slightly weaker honeycomb on one side of the base due to floor-offset foundations cannot be paired with the ordinary foundations
Very useful video, my favorite bunker now is the floor stacking bunker (it's like raised foundation but without foundations :D)
Any tech that needs to be built before the starter is automatically F. There are better options.
S tier vending machine ✅✅✅✅ loved the vid!
Thanks
Faberge not affected
The vertical pixel bunker isn't pointless! You can upgrade it to sheet metal, allowing you to open and close it using the shipping container skin, making it harder for anyone to destroy or get an angle to attack what's behind it unless they use 4 C4.
P2W skins not included
Which bunkers are best for Large God rocks?
thoughts on push bunkers? idk if you would even consider them bunkers but there are ways to make it so you must break through armored structures to get through so i would say they are 🤷♂️
I REALLY miss the old tripple stair bunker. Cheap to build, place to open, upgraded to HQM it was undefeatable.
Pixel gap TC being in F is a crime
theyre one of the most powerful building tecs in the game and have saved so many of my wipes
Pros:
Hides TC making it almost impossible for raiders to get to
With a bit of practice, can be integrated into any build
Can also have a vending machine and locker with TC if made on a square foundation, providing for even more protected loot
Indestructible if no small boxes are left behind
Can easily be combined with other bunkers to make strong unraidable**** bases
Can save your entire wipe because raiders often dont have enough boom to reach it
Cons:
Kinda hard to learn how to make (skill issue)
Kinda hard to learn how to access (skill issue)
There’s really never not a reason to have a pixelgapped TC unless you really NEED the space or if you just suck at building.

Multi TC Roof Bunker can be done with one TC - Roof Triangle allow to connect split pieces
you cant put a twig floor under the roof without tc access.
@@CrowRust square twig is mounted on a wall that opens with a roof. Why cant i do it without tc access?
I misunderstood what you said. But you're wrong, if you attach a twig floor the wall still can't be softsided as the roof covers 50% of the wall so converts it to hardside.
@@CrowRust You are right. Just tested. Didn't know that
Im testing the raised foundation bunker and Im unable to splash the foundation through the wall, which means they must of fixed that which means this bunker becomes an S tier for a solo/duo.
I doubt they fixed it. Still not S tier tho
@@CrowRust Well I just tested it on a build sever, I was unable to splash damage the foundation through the wall its fixed.
@@Jeffery3464 Just tested it on my own private server and the foundation can still be splashed. Build servers can be buggy so give unreliable results.
I like raised foundation since it is so simple. I didn't know it could be soft sided.
great job summing all that info crow
although i disagree with few ranks
is there any way to protect the HQM triange on stability bunkers from getting splashed alongside the honeycomb?
i didnt knew that you effectively dont have honeycomb on that side :(
square honeycomb/roofs
@@CrowRust you need to change the entire footprint for that :(
i hope after FW this issue get fixed since they destroy the offset mechanism
I am new to Rust and have a noob question. Why do you need a doorframe outside a freehanded roof bunker? Can't you just rebuild from foundation?
If the main freehanded foundation gets destroyed, the second one won't be connected and will decay. The frame connects it
@@CrowRust thank you for the help!
the raised triangle roof bunker with the wood square and roof tile. you cannot splash the raised triangle foundation through the wall i use it in a lot of my bases cause its so easy to just add to your base.
Yes you can. Depends on how you honeycomb it
@@CrowRust I just tried it exactly as you have in the video had no splash dmg on the raised triangle ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
@@nickbutler765 Well it's still a thing mate, I just tested it.
nice video, i love people show an idea instead of a full base design so more experienced builder can use it into their own design.
the vertical container bunker still a thing? the metal one with container skin not the hqm, i just spent 30 hr on a cheap mutiple vertical metal pixel gap base and i dont want it to be ruined alredy
I’ll always remember the Viper Base 😪 my go to every wipe
Damn I'm planning on coming back to rust for my summer break and I only found out now that my favorite bunker (offset) got removed.
yea lots of my favourite base builds are outdated now, can still rebuild them without the bunker but meh, really annoying that rust is removing all of the bunkers but i understand why.
i’m so confused with how bunkers work tbh, are you supposed to just leave it open while you’re online then close them before you get off? or are you supposed to keep closing them then kill ur self each time u come home to re open them? pls help
Usually leave it open when online for better quality of life
They patch the pixel gaps even on PC now you can shoot the TC and the boxes now and now I don't know what else to build
We’re can I find the triplet bunker I don’t see it in the discription
th-cam.com/video/q8-DtLrrCBI/w-d-xo.htmlsi=CA7mBGdPtYB98Yfx
It's not even a bunker.
@@CrowRust why not? doesn't it block a path with a building piece? what is your definition of bunker?
You can shoot rockets though it so it's just a blocker, a bunker should completely seal like a vault.
@@CrowRust honestly fair, but as a blocker it does it's job well if used properly.

suicide bunker is A tier for solo only, seriously its literally the strongest design physically possible, no gaps no build issues only drawback is loot transfer time its really good for solo and bad for anyone else.
W Content Crow Keep Posting :)
you do the stairs bunker so weird. you can make a jumpup with it, put single door and half wall in the door frame and its fine
Depends on footprint mate
Another very informative video Crow, thanks for this, I'm on console and still use the pixel and god bunkers alot, not sure for how long though lol, another thing, since when did vendies drop loot when destroyed I though they didn't? Cheers
Maybe they don't on console, you'll have to test that!
@@CrowRust I will and get back to you👍🏻
Edit: They don't drop loot on console it despawns, thought so.
is Serenity 2 (roof stability bunker) still viable? im dumb + dont have time to watch all this rn
Multi tc roof bunkers are the best imo because you can put them in places raiders are unlikely to hit
Why are exposed foundations bad but the soft side walls on multi-TC are okay?
anyone know if the dlc skin stone pixel gap is also getting removed in the next patch?
Yes it is
:(
Man crow is tough on bunkers 😅 some of these I thought would be great
my fav is the freehand bunker for tcs its like multi tc just more hidden
thanks, could pick correct wall to get TC :D
Actually the multi tc roofbunkers can be single tc since there's a way to reconnect back to the main build.
Yea but kinda pointless

I know of a Bunker not on your video that most people have forgotten about.
Why is everything in rust balanced around the Zerg 😡
bro you forgot the thicc adobe stair single door frame bunker!! S tier tbh...
🥳
Stability bunker is my favorit
Gamelightz-sama will be angry at these pixelbunker placements!
Taking away pixel gaps is crazy. First offset bunkers and now this.
Why would an exploiter want them to fix exploits amirite?
i want stability bunkers back so bad
is the rock bunker patched?
No floating triangle bunker?
I fell like soft-siding a hqm foundation is is more painful then farming the boom to break it.
i would rate this video S tier
You are the best!
The vertical pixel gap being F tier was a bad take. Easy to build and can be done/incorporated in the first 30 seconds of building a base.
I just don't enjoy building them or living out of bases with them. It's subjective
Wait, so does that mean the t2unami bunkers now dont work?
No mate, they're multi tc
I use floor stack bunker with your method from 2022 steal working for my 2x1 (building after starter floor stack)
Impressive that you can get the perfect height, nicely done
