I was at this show. Place-des-Nations in Montreal. I was 15. We'd let the girls distract the bus driver in Lachine and sneak in the back windows of the bus so we could get there free. Same to go home. There were conerts there for years, glad I saw most of them. Supertramp, Heart, Mahogany Rush, Offenbach Eddie Money. PEACE \/

wow. I was hanging out in Montreal in 1973 when I first heard The Mexican at a disco called Sur La Place in La Vieux Montreal. So sorry I missed seeing them live! It was my favorite song at the time. Montreal was like a never ending Renaissance Fair in the 70's. Hash from Afghanistan and mescaline.

Not much classic rawk here at Gag-bit Vinyl in Bushwick NYC, but come visit if you dig late 70/80’s post punk/new wave ~ :-D 28:24 Goddam why weren't they at Cal Jam II? 35:01 Barefoot hippie rockers will always rule.

I had a friend about eight years older than me when I was in high school. His name was rockin Ron. He had a couple thousand albums. Babe Ruth was prominent among his collection. So I heard them the first time in about 1972. He had turned me, and another friend, Kelly Smith, onto this new band with a great female vocalist. I fell in love with their music immediately. Almost 50 years later,.It is so cool to find a live concert of theirs online. Whoever did that thank you so very much. Aren’t they amazing!

She blew her voice out not long after this and damaged her vocal cords, she was never the same again. She made her mark though, First Base was huge.

Well, I have found a woman who has a rasp that I could use in woodworking and it is not this one. As in one who at NORMAL voice levels let alone loudly has a rasp that sounds like she has one foot and a half in the grave, chain smokes a half dozen cigarettes at a time and hurts to listen to. She was a guest vocalist with Alan Parsons Project
in this concert ----> (th-cam.com/video/_f3M-jKDbSc/w-d-xo.html) and her voice has crashed compared to what she used to sound like. Bonnie Tyler USED to sound somewhat okay, even with her rasp, but at that concert, I had to skip the song. It was just too painful!
This one's voice breaks at loud volume, and though you might like that, not everyone does. My hearing is fine, as I have to have it checked annually for my work. {What I posted was the Maestro's comment to a student (Killashandra Ree) in the novel Crystal Singer, who's operatic life was crashed by a slight burr in her voice.} But it still fits.

Years ago can't remember exact year babe ruth came to Thurso in the far north of Scotland to play at our local gala week! I was 11 a beautiful summer night. It was outside between our river Thurso and the boating pond. Wells fargo track I remember bass line in particular. Left an impression on me. Took 30 yrs to get copy of 1st Base! 60s 70s were magical time for freedom and music. Still in my head today 62 now with me til last breath!
