Alan Shacklock went on to send many bands toward the gold record status…fabulous teacher as well… they are all still musicians…last time the group came together was in Canada…
I'm just finding about this band and just finding out they are the band that made the song "The Mexican". Since the 80's I just knew Jellybean did the remix but never thought to find out who made the original song. Amazing band! Amazing singer! (although very very late...I'm a fan now )
I saw them about 1975, time well spent. It's interesting to check back on the experience through TH-cam, something we could never have even hoped for back then!
One of my faves in the 70's. Still one of my favourite albums. Growing up near Montréal often meant hearing great music that was not being played anywhere else in NA.
Interesting comment. I’m Scandinavian but came to spend 16 years in Belgium. My greatest (among many) benefit was getting access to the French channel MCM (I think). This channel gave me the opportunity to acquaint myself with plenty of music with middle eastern and Asian roots as well as music from Eastern Europe. It opened my eyes to the limitations of cultural imperialism as exhibited by MTV and their extremely narrow focus. I fell in love with the music of Babe Ruth back in the early 70-ies. A great time for music.
Back when music had melodies! I was a big fan of this band. They were very popular in the province of Québec. A music review wrote, many years ago, that the band was ahead of their time - based on their below average popularity, especially in their own country.

Such an awesome band and she is just phenomenal... just came across her and the band from a breakdancing video and they were playing the mexican song. Wow !!🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Merecia).😮

saw at the Fairfield halls croydon wow forgot got how many years ago, but I still come to listen as to y I ended on the loudspeaker stack, once heard never forgotten thanks
Thanks for sharing this . I was fortunate enough to see them live in 2010. Jenny used to be my favorite female singer until 2 years ago when Sara Menoudakis of Motion Device took over the torch. Some think she sounds like Janis I think she sounds like Jenny

It is Hard to Believe that the Band is almost unknown at present Times. The unforgettable song. And performance!
Alan Shacklock went on to send many bands toward the gold record status…fabulous teacher as well… they are all still musicians…last time the group came together was in Canada…
I don’t understand how they aren’t more famous
Saw them live @ Marquee Club 1973 - one of the best live gigs I have seen....🍺
CAUSE PEOPLE DON’T REALISE THESE DAYS WHAT GREAT MUSICIANS & BANDS THE 70’S GOLDEN ERA OF ROCK ‘N’ ROLL GAVE THE WORLD. 🫶🏽🎸💯

Bought my record probably 1974. The music has been with me since.
I saw them about 1975, time well spent.
It's interesting to check back on the experience through TH-cam, something we could never have even hoped for back then!
She reminds me of Janis Joplin, what a voice.
Check out Genya Ravan and Ten Wheel Drive. Most Amazing female rock voice imo
reminds me of Grace Slick
Heard them live back in the 70s. This song still sends chills down my back. Thanks for posting this.
Jenny Haan !!!!! I mean damn!!! This woman was a beast!❤ voice hella incredible!!!🎉🎉🎉
Janita. Must have had mexican origins
Jenny just has an incredible voice. I don't think I know any modern singer that can sing like that.

Saw them in Ottawa!! One of my all time favs!!! And Saw Pink Floyd in Montreal!
Yep. From Montreal as well and I can concur. Same goes for tv and cinema
Grew up near Sherbrooke. The heyday of CHOM-FM. The music was great. Moving to Vancouver meant having to actively search out good music.
My sister bought this album when I was 9 and it literally changed my life. Particularly this song.
Beautiful , a underrated Band

Why is this not in so many playlists, and such a great album
Wow! Memories of listening to CKGM-FM, later CHOM in Montreal. They had a big following - hard to believe they weren't more widely appreciated.
Fabulous….group of ppl…the music is timeless..❤🎉

Up there with the best! On a par with Deep Purple's 'Child In Time' ❤
The Mechican! Pirei.... adorei e nunca esqueci. Imortal l...
Listening to Babe Ruth forever, this is tops
Just discovered this band, really enjoying them. This Janita Haan is a helluva singer.
The first gig I ever went to was Babe Ruth at Manchester Uni back in '74 - a vastly underrated band.
Jenny's stage presence really had to be experienced to appreciate it.
very underrated, great band, not enough albums made. thanks for sharing Joe.
Thanks! I'm been waiting for the first four minutes of this video for years!
Such an awesome band and she is just phenomenal... just came across her and the band from a breakdancing video and they were playing the mexican song. Wow !!🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

Adoro desde 1980. Raridade!
I second or 3rd anyone thanks for this to finally see her as she was live, I still love this band and they covered Zappa
Their version of King Kong on the First base album was actually recorded in one take. They're pros, quite underrated.

Chaotic masterpiece, thanks for posting :)
Geniale Band
I was expecting a cover of the Led Zeppelin song...sad it wasn't but this was a pretty good song.
Thank you
Essa vocalista era muito linda! Gatíssima! E cantava muito bem! Bela voz!
Love my woman ❤❤❤
