Thanks Mike. That's very kind of you to say ... we really do try to not just add features, but do them in a way that's easy to use and doesn't get in the way of actually flying.
Does FlyQ EFB work with Kindle Fire? I currently use Fltplan Go with my Fire tablet and link it to my stratus 3. I am looking to upgrade to a paid EFB service.
I don't see the wind speed by the arrows when your video is around the 6:25 mark. I just downloaded the latest version that was available yesterday (4/14/20) so perhaps that was removed? I don't see the "green dots" either. Wait, now the wind speed numbers just showed up. Weird. Oh, now the green dots just showed up when I zoomed in further. Ok, maybe user error but it would be nice to know there's a level of zoom where that occurs. It would be nice if when changing the altitude if that would show how much in time that would affect the trip. And even better, if there was a best altitude for time savings along the route. It looks when when the timeline is activated in the sim mode, the light blue vertical line in that timeline is still back at the beginning even thought the sim trip started some time ago. I think you said something about the magenta line during a real flight but not sure it that means the blue line would be more "active." My timeline doesn't disappear after 20 seconds either. Would be nice if each of the weather features would say whether it was ADS-B compatible or not
Howdy. 1. Yes, you do need to zoom in just a bit to see the METAR/TAF dots. Not quite sure how to explain the zoom level required (if I said TMS level 8, it wouldn't mean anything to you) but it's shown pretty far out, about the point where you can't really see the dot anyway because it's too small. I see the wind arrows at 6:25 so not sure what you're seeing. The arrows are actual arrows, not old-school wind barbs. When you're zoomed far out, the wind arrows don't have room for the wind speed so color gives you some sense of velocity. As you zoom in, there is space to show the velocity in kts at the end of the arrow. This is covered in video and clearly shown in the video's discussion of the Legend feature. 2. Well ... just so happens that FlyQ has a wind optimization system like you suggested (actually 2) and has had it since V1.0. It's the Wind Optimizer. In the Weather tab, select Winds and you'll a super-easy to understand graphic that show the headwind / tailwind applicable to different altitudes as you fly. See the "Weather" video at about 6:25. th-cam.com/video/l5myCnpQYtg/w-d-xo.html Also, in the Plans tab, with the NavLog tab, tap "Wind Optimizer" and you'll see a table with time and fuel burns for the plan at various altitudes. 3. See page 103 of the Pilot's Guide for ADS-B vs Internet and whether a layer uses the Timeline and/or Alt Slider. In fact, this portion of the Pilot Guide is specifically shown in the video towards the end. seattleavionics.com/documents/FlyQEFBGettingStarted.pdf
The app itself is free to download and comes with a free 30 day trial of the full product (no limits). After that, subscriptions are $79/yr for VFR-only content and $159/yr for VFR + IFR. See: seattleavionics.com/eCommerce/FlyQ1.aspx
I played along on my iPad as you went through all these great new features, what an excellent update. Thanks!!
Thanks very much, William! We're SUPER happy with it!
Really shows the thought, time, and effort you put into this! Looks GREAT!

Nice work on the update and the vid tutorial. I was excited about this update and it really did not disappoint.
Thanks so much, Don! We definitely worked very hard on it!
What a great update! Well thought out. I’m flying with it tomorrow!
Thanks for the very kind words! Have a safe flight, we hope it helps!
I am so excited about this update! Thanks Seattle Avionics!!!
Thank you so much, Reena!
Love it! Thanks Steve. Great updates and great tutorial. Keep up the good work.
Thank you so much! We try!
I might be missing the setting, but does FlyQ have audio alerts? Traffic alerts and a timer chime would be nice. I'm new to FlyQ. Thanks!
Another outstanding upgrade! Thanks!
Thanks so much, Steve! We really appreciate the kind words!
So freakin cool. Already updated app. Glad I sprung for the Merlin & lifetime subscription! A good ROI!
An excellent looking product. Too bad I can't use it in Canada!!
Agree! It's definitely something we'd like to get settled w/ Nav Canada.
@@FlyQEFB Nav Canada has a strangle hold on navigation data and I would like to see this come to an end. How can I help with this? Grose@gvrose.com
That looks like it'll be a great improvement, but when will it be available?
Its been submitted to Apple. Should be in the App Store end of week.
Awesome! Can’t wait to try it.
Thanks Jeff! We're a little biased but we really think v45 has better aviation weather than any other app out there!

@@FlyQEFB Thank you. I should have just made notes to myself before replying :) The Wind Optimizer is interesting and I see how that works.
Will I receive the newest update automatically if I have the lifetime subscription
You bet! We're releasing this now to Apple for their review. When they release it, we will DEFINITELY let people know!
It's available now! See: seattleavionics.wordpress.com/2020/04/06/flyq-efb-4-5-now-available/
Will this work on an Android phone without any ADSB?
What are the current cost models for FlyQ? Reg fees..?
