Good to hear about your journey, 90% so far! That's so much :) It's amazing how liberating it feels right? It's such a different way of living I find, so much more relaxed
Everything you said about your clothing...I feel the exact same way. I’m just starting to understand that I don’t have to own items of clothing that make me uncomfortable. I’ve never liked tight sleeves or jeans. Glad to know there is someone else who shares this problem.
Thank you for your comment. I'm so glad to hear from you! I also felt quite alone with this "most of the mainstream clothes feel uncomfortable and bother me" problem. So nice to meet someone who shares the same struggles and knowing I'm not alone. Glad to hear that you as well decided that you don't have to wear uncomfortable clothes, the only thing that matters is how you feel. (and I also really never liked jeans haha)
I appreciate your nice comment, thank you so much :) And great to meet you and hear that you are an extreme minimalist as well. Yes, it's a journey, right? I also still have things I want to declutter, it takes time.
I love this so much. I'm on my way to extreme minimalism because I'm also overwhelmed by life. This was really motivating, I love seeing people's different ways of living. Sometimes I think- would I be okay living without this item? And when I see someone else living fine without it, I get a new perspective. When I move out I'm definitely not buying a shower curtain lol
I'm so happy to hear that it was motivating! Yes I know, life can definitely be very overwhelming. I remember that I also was afraid of getting rid of certain things. For me the funny thing was that most of the things not only I can live fine without, it's even easier or better. Of course you have to try things out to see what that is, because we all have different needs and preferences. And also sometimes it can happen that I decide that I do want to have a certain item back but usually it's not that of a big deal to get the same thing again and it's also quite rare luckily. Good luck with your extreme minimalist journey 💛
Hello, Anja. I’ve just discovered your channel. I like this video. I had the opportunity to work overseas in 2017 and I left a flat full of stuff taking two suitcases and a box of books. I was staying in serviced apartments but sparsely furnished with just the basics. I didn’t miss anything I left behind, built up over 15 years in London. In fact it was very liberating. So much so that I gave most of those things away to my sisters and to charity and sold the flat. I don’t want to be tied down by stuff like that again and will always try to live lightly now. I couldn’t give up physical books, but I have a very small collection of books I keep coming back to and re-reading (largely the spiritual works of Thich Nhat Hanh and the Dalai Lama). Your space looks very calm. I’m glad you’ve found what works for you and thank you for sharing your inspiring video.
Hey you are a kindred spirit! I’m much older than you but my room is very empty just like yours. (My profile photo is an old one and much has changed since then). Being an extreme minimalist is sooo liberating isn’t it! Good luck with your channel, I have subscribed.
Thank you for your nice comment and for subscribing, I appreciate it! And also so nice to meet someone who is like minded and also loves to live extremely minimalistic :) And yes!! Extreme minimalism is so liberating, I love it so much
I was a minimalist before there was a word for it- then folks kept making me feel weird and kept giving me stuff- pillows, a sofa, decorative stuff. I'm finally now like ok I like minimal furniture and I'm going backwards to what I like. I've always like sleeping on a futon on the floor. I'm not an extreme but resonate with alot of what you said.
I'm so happy to hear that you listened to yourself and your own needs. Sometimes it can be difficult for other people to understand why we want to live differently. Nowadays it is more accepted, I can image that it must have been very difficult to live this way before minimalism was so well known.
Interesting to learn more about your art! I enjoy art a lot, would love to see more content about it if you are willing and open to sharing. Stay safe! =)
I was and extreme minimalist in my 20s. Now that I am in my 40s with a family, I am not as minimalist as I would like. We have our mattresses on the floor on a wood pallet for breathability. We got rid of our couch, coffee table, end tables, dressers and bedside tables, but we kept our kitchen table and 4 chairs because we eat all our meals at that table. *I am also not a fan of things on the wall so I have only one pieces of art on the wall in each room (for the sake of the others in the home). *I make my own cleaning supplies and use worn t-shirts for cleaning and unmatched socks as dust mitts. *I got rid of all my makeup and shaved my head so I got rid of all hair supplies. *I have no jewelry or accessories - just 1 handbag. *I own 40 clothing pieces. *We have no subscriptions or tv. We have lots of books & TH-cam. *I cook all our meals at home. We eat simple, whole foods. I don't drink.
Wow, that really sounds so amazing. Especially to live this way with a family is proof that it's definitely possible if you want to. It also must be so much easier this way and provides you with more time for things that really matter and spending time with family, really amazing to hear :)
Thanks so much and also for letting me know. I often try to include some pieces in my videos but I will think about maybe doing a whole video about it, or to incorporate it into a theme
Thanks so much! I bought mine on Etsy www.etsy.com/nl/shop/HempOrganicLife but I know that there are more people from more countries who also sell them on Etsy
I also do not have many things as minimalist. Netflix is one of them, I do not watch movies and series a lot. If I watch movies, I rent them and all done. I watch from 3 to 6 movies a year. Useless to pay 9,99 each month whole year. I pay €7,99 for music and podcasts on Deezer Premium ad-free. I listen a lot of music and I had a lot of headphones and earphones. Got rid most of them. I now have best pair for home and best pair for outside. I still have furniture, but only minimum and I use it until the end. Everyone seems to be different. I so liked your video, it made me think! I go tomorrow with donation bag of clothes I do not wear anymore. They are not fitting my lifestyle, even if in my size. I live in studio apartment with no TV set or FM radio. I only have basic speed internet for €5 a month with no desire to get faster speeds paying more. I have phones and laptops for ages in use. Money is not to waste. I liked your point on alcohol. I save so much money not drinking it. You may not ending up having friends, but is so much better to be sober.
Thanks for sharing your story! It sounds so inspirational :) I love how you are aware of what you need and don't need and what works for you. You are so right that it all doesn't have to be so complicated, also with all the streaming services and electronic devices (those can be such a trap). It's very nice to hear how you have designed your life with intention :)
I feel like owning so little with little distractions speaks to your level of contentment with yourself. I feel like I'm at a place right now where I still need distractions because if I'm not distracting myself with things I start to think about all these negative things in my life, so I rather just don't :D
I definitely agree with you. And I also can understand the need for distractions as well. There is nothing wrong with that. I've had moments in my life where distractions were my best friends ;) so I understand your need for it and the most important thing is that you are comfortable, that's all that matters :)
This one was quite difficult to think about and I still don't know the answer! :) also I'm not sure whether you mean that I should have mentioned it as something that I don't own (which haha is very true!) or that you mean that I need to have one. And in that case... Very interesting though, is it to measure the radiation in my environment? Or because of the fact that maybe you saw a ghost in my video? ;) very curios though!

Could you possibly be projecting Aunty Linda? Just a thought. I don't hear unhappiness at all. We all see things through our own personal lens of perception.

I got rid of about 90% of my possessions over the last 3 years. I only kept things I really love.
I am still scaling down. It's very liberating.

Thank you you are a minimalist who has new ideas still - greetings from Germany.
