exactly. the point of shaving cream is to provide a little bit of lubricant between your skin and the razor so that it glides better. Soap, conditioner, and lotion all work just as well.

I just found yr channel this week (was looking for a new desk and ofc the algorithm algorithmed) and I can't even tell what the majority of yr content is gonna be yet but just want to say you've got such a fantastic editing/directorial style. Your sense of pacing, when to quick cut or cut away to stock footage (without relying on it), when to demonstrate something instead of just talking about it, the laughs you keep in, etc. just all make for such a great watch, whether you're trying to make a point effectively, just make us laugh, or whatever. Immediate sub, and I'm really excited to see where else you take this channel. Thanks for the work you're doing!
    And definitely team bar soap.

Agree - no shaving cream here, either; lathered up soap works just fine. Since Covid, I've been cutting my own hair. I'm not good at it and can't reach the back very well. I'm going to start getting hair cuts again, but limit to only 3 per year. Hair Color - when I was working, dealing with the public, I'd color it every 7-9 weeks. Since I'm officially retired, I don't care anymore and only color it twice a year; April my birthday month and just before the Holidays. Revlon 6.99 a box. Never been big into manicures. Don't care about them, it would be a waste of money; I have pets - inside & outside so constantly washing my hands. Pedicures are a necessity only because I have mobility issues and can't comfortable reach to do them. I only get a basic one and no polish, just a buffing to shine them up a bit. Agree - I'm not into brand name, clothes, shoes or purses. I want comfortable, practical, easy to care for and don't care if it gets damaged. I have recently purchased shoes that are for a wider width foot but after many trial & errors, found some on Amazon for 29.99. I would like to see a video showing the shoes you mentioned. Yup - body wash person, but our grocery store does BOGO's on the kind I like, so stock up when it's on sale. No perfume, it actually makes me nauseous, same with cigarette smell. Agree with all your other items. I do buy very inexpensive paper napkins though.
    This was a great list.
P.S. - I'm still working on getting photos and info to send to you, "stuff" keeps happening. Today, woke up to a section of my boarder trees cut down by the electric company because a branch fell and broke the light pole. It's always something. I swear, can't get one thing crossed off the list before 2 other things get added on...

I am actually going to cut my hair this week. I follow the pigtail haircut by Manes by Mell, she has a great TH-cam channel. I highly recommend. . I used to do all that you do, straighten my curls and do the fancy schmancy haircuts..and I live in New York City, so you can imagine how pricey they were. Now I care for my 90-year-old feisty mom full time and I have minimized my life so much. I agree very much with all that you presented here. I recently bought shaving cream at the dollar tree, but to clean the bathroom with, I hear it works really well around the base of the toilet. I make my own deodorant and started to brush my teeth more with baking soda than with toothpaste. I learned that you can make your own hair gel with flax seeds, which work well for curly hair. I have that on my bucket list to try. Also, last but not least, I am learning to sew, because I recently wanted to make my own clothes. I made my own top last week, upcycling an old pillowcase. I am not minimalist by any means but I do try and save money as much as I can with getting a lot of clothes from charity shops (thrift stores) and if I do spend out I get good quality which will last and dosen't fit a 'fashion'. I do spend out on shoes, as being a diabetic I do need to look after my feet so I swear by my Vivofoot barefoot shoes along with Doc Marten boots and Sketchers trainers but there are so many shoes I can't wear because they are just damned uncomfortable.
As for body wash, yes i do have that, but then because I have a bit of a skin condition I have a prescribed body wash which here in the UK and as a diabetic is free on prescription form the pharmacy. I do occasionally use another over the counter body wash which doesn't irritate my skin but only if I have run out of the perscribed stuff and I haven't had the chemist fill the new script yet. Bar soap is a no go as a result which is a shame because I used to like just the basic Dove soap.
Haircuts! now, the best thing I did was have my hair cut so that now every 6 to 8 weeks I just go to a barber and pay about £20 for a trim and reshape rather than a hairdressers and pay nearly £100 for basically the same work just with a wash and blow dry thrown in!!

I rotate, but so far I’ve tried sweet almond, grape seed, and castor oil.
I was having issues in the summer from the humidity with sebaceous oils and pimples popping up. It seems body wash and bars of soap helped a little, but because of stripping the oils off my skin it just told my body to make more oil which just made it an on going struggle. Using just oil and water fixed most if not all those issues. I still get a break out here and there. It was weird at first and if I ever need an extra cleaning I will grab my bar of soap. And then oil up after, all while in the shower. Just rinse it good. Oh! Just make sure the castor oil is cold pressed.

Loved seeing that $40 Stanley status cup sitting on your desk , how ironic.

Hahahhaa - It’s not a Stanley, it’s a simple modern and costs $30, and has way better leak protection 😀. What is even a status cup though, I just use it for water bc it makes sense lol!
