- G'day Guys, Welcome back, in this video we go through the install process of the brand new Australian Made hidden winch cradle by Mongrel Off Road. This brand new product on the market for the Ford Ranger Raptors is a game changer when weight matters but performance is paramount. Weighing in at only 16kgs this cradle is a beast!! exactly right mate, as much as i like the protection of a full bar, the weight on the factory Raptor suspension is just too much with full bar work.
Will this winch set up fit my USA 2019 Ranger Lariat with adaptive cruise control ? If so how do I order one. Thanks Chuck

Hi Damo, couldn't see who did the install. Where did you get it done and what did they charge you? Got a cradle arriving today and my fitter bailed on me.

Great video man, I was looking at the winch wondering if that would mount on my Everest. I was scratching my head, bc it looks like you added more stuff to the Raptor.
Mate this cradle won't fit on the Everest, the Raptor has a totally different chassis, you can definitely get something similar but not from these guys.
They are working on a cradle that will fit all ranger models as we speak.
That was excellent. Well done. I'm looking for one for my 2020 Ford Ranger XLT 4x4 off road. Has the skid plate. I think you can even put a light bar in too. Now I have to see if you have one that will fit well for my Ford. Don't need a super heavy duty and would like to mod it to roll into the winch with no hook outside.

Thank you for the video. I couldn’t see the final look close enough , One ques: can you access the winch clutch(to pull the rope out manually) from the gap in the bumper which is below the plate number ? Or it’s not accessible? Thank you again
Yes, plenty of room to reach “through” the bumper. Winch is also accessible from the side which is the most convenient
How do you access the clutch lever for the winch? Im getting mine installed tomorrow and just now thinking about this? 😬
Straight through the front of the bumper. Big enough gap to reach your hand through 👍🏻

Great job mate. Little bit jealous though. We still can't leave our home outside a 5km radius due to an idiot running our state. Watching others adventures is as good as it gets at the moment.

For the safety conscious out there, would you put something weighted on the cable to help transfer any excess energy back into the ground if something snaps? (obviously off the other guys ute :P )
Definitely mate, great advice. Always weight the winch rope if unsure of the loads.

The Airbox is an extra that you can order with the snorkel from platinum. I’m actually fairly surprised with how it performs. I have always been anti fabricated snorkels...

Very nice. How much did the winch weigh and did it cause any sag at the front end?
Cradle weighs in at 16KG and winch weighs in at 28KG...Zero sag in the front.

I like this although the gearbox will hot now the intercooler is cover up completely
Have you had any performance issues with blocking intercooler?
Zero Issues so far, still plenty of air flow getting in 👍🏻
Hi would you know the spec on the front tow hooks it states 4635kg is this with both being used at the same time ?
Yes, if you bridal both together then you get the full spec almost 5T pull capability

Hi Damo, what does this do to the warranty on the Raptor?
As far as i can gather, no change to the warranty. I've had the Raptor in for a service and asked about it and they weren't phased.

16 kilos vs 80 kilos, plus it looks a million times better. did he say it would fit in the regular ranger? i couldn't quite understand what he was getting at there.
Hides neatly in there way better than having bull bar

Wow 1k for the cradle with bolts 😬 🤷🏻 ganna start saving. Well worth it for that factory look I'm going for 😊💕 I'm glad there starting to get more mods in the ranger community like the 3 light projector led headlight housing. There's some very tastfull but practical mods I'm digging.

Really good. Mine is Slightly over what the manufacturer says but that’s to be expected after accessories.
Hey, Do you think adding winch on ranger raptor may cause to change the weight balance. I thınk raptor's shocks are working best with anything added. Sorry about my english :)
I want to do some things on my raptor (fridge, boxes, winch etc.) But ım afraid of change the weight balance of the car.
A winch in this configuration won’t upset the balance. If you start to add too much steel bar work just for looks you will quickly notice the change. This can be fixed by changing the springs on your suspension but that’s the last thing I really want to do after all you paid good money for the fox suspension in the first place 👍🏻
@@RoundTheFire Unfortunately ı cant fınd upgraded springs in my country. If ı want to import them, it will be very expensive.I need the stick with the original ones anyway :)
