    No car build is complete until you pull out the trusty old step drill, happy to see it coming along.

    Love your videos guys, don't be so hard on yourself about the fab work, it looks great and I'd rather watch a shed build that wasn't perfect than watch perfect fabrication from a big company. Keep up the good work, I look forward to seeing the next video

      Thanks Walesy. Stoked there's a bunch of you guys enjoying the videos 👍🏻 I dont think we're all that hard on ourselves, we're definitely happy with the result but we're also aware of our limitations.
      Next one won't be too long to wait for man. 👌🏻

    Great vid boys and not boring at all. Pretty sure i'm not the only one who enjoys and appreciates seeing what's involved in doing all the little 'must do jobs' after all you can't enjoy the end product without it. Great stuff. ps thanks for the tip on where to buy the Lowes Astra pump bracket. 👍

      Cheers littlegames. We'd definitely be in the minority for enjoying these kind of things, but you're dead right... car needs it to run!

    Lovin the down to earth vids, boys.
    Maybe find a couple of cheap mics, would help with the audio.

    • @TorqHub
      @TorqHub  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey Cryptology, thanks for watching mate. We've got a sweet little external mic on the camera but I think we've worked out that our audio is being massively hindered by the flexible handle we're using with the camera. The mic picks up any movement in the joints and amplifies the shit out of it... so that's going in the bin 🤣

    Great job boys. Just a query, do you think the nutserts that holds the fuel cell in place on the steel bracket will be enough for the weight of the fuel cell plus being full of fuel?

    • @TorqHub
      @TorqHub  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I like where your heads at big Al. This was taken into consideration when deciding which way to bolt the cell down. Originally I wanted to just through bolt the cell, but then we looked up the pull out strength of the nutserts and they were much higher values than what we initially thought they'd be so we went that way. If there's any doubt with the efficacy of these later down the road we will remove them and go with a through bolt and big washer easily enough. I couldn't bolt through the front left hole due to frame design otherwise they'd all be bolted through. It was certainly a consideration that's for sure. Thanks for watching mate

      Torq Hub Media Good chat mate. Just asking as I’ve done a fair bit of work with loading and G ratings calculations for bracket design and liquid filled compartments. The nutserts have come a long way and are pretty strong.

    Hey what fluid do
    You use with the Astra pump ?

    • @TorqHub
      @TorqHub  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ordinary ATF or powersteer fluid mate.

    • @vn5vie361
      @vn5vie361 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TorqHub did you use the Astra standard fluid or the standard VP fluid ?

    • @TorqHub
      @TorqHub  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Just use Dex-III ATF

    • @vn5vie361
      @vn5vie361 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah that’s what I’m using but the fluids foaming up and getting warm really quick and feels a lot heavier to steer than the standard pump.
