Broooo, this was such a good step by step video. I have an OLD collection I’m trying to sell off, so I appreciate seeing this because this single-handedly gave a great idea of how to go about things. You’re awesome, and keep up the good work, cheers!
You earned my sub for this one. Very basic and important primer on selling, which I do need as I am organizing the cards I do have, and I now need the right supplies. I have a real fear of mailing things out improperly (don't know why) but this will help me conquer that. I'm starting to list cards/packs on eBay and this was the first video I googled. Thanks!
Thank you so much for this. I've been unsure how to start and this was a huge help. Trying to find ways to save on shipping materials is especially important - for Canadians, I discovered the Dollar Store sells pack of 100 penny sleeves for dirt cheap compared to online or retail stores.
Thank you very much. I learned a lot from that. Really appreciate it trying to get into selling some more cards onto eBay so appreciate it.. great advice all around. Didn’t know about the shortcuts on EBay either.
Great video so people prefer to buy it now at a higher price than auction starting at a lower price? I’m just starting and I’m trying auctions but allowing offers….thoughts?
That card was something I pulled and was using as an example. I list all of my cards using my phone, you would need a printer though when selling so that you can print a shipping label
I received extra base cards when i purchased a rookie card and was super happy for the extra cards towards the set i was collecting. Not sure why people would be upset at it.
Hi - Thanks so much for this Video. You, gave all the basic steps on entering a card into Ebay and how to ship PWE and more expensive cards in a Bubble Mailer. How do you ship Blaster Boxes when you sell them? Thanks, and have a good day. Barry
If under a 1lb I would use a small box and bubble wrap and use first class shipping. If it's going to be over a pound I would use a free flat rate priority box from USPS and ship using their flat rate prices
Wrap the box in bubble wrap and place some additional filler in the shipping box so it doesn't move around during shipping. Ship through eBay to get a discounted rate, maybe pay for insurance depending on the value.
I have a question for you. If I were just to put stamps on the exact amount of cards and process, you just showed us. How many stamps would I need to include one or two?
Great video sir ! Thanks a lot for sharing . I did have 1 question. So I’m new when it comes to seeking on eBay but I did post a football card the other day and it charged me 5.00 to post it . I say on your video it was free to post . How does a guy go about getting that . Have a lot of cards to post but feel that wouldn’t be advantageous for me . Thank you in advance ,
Lord, I just found a huge box of 1980's & older Baseball cards that I bought years ago. Topps, Upper Deck, Donruss, Fleer Ultra. Frank Thomas, Nolan Ryan, Barry Bonds, Derek Jeter, all kinds in perfect condition. I had 2 boxes of full collection pieces but I lost 1 box when I moved. I got basketball cards also that I didn't know I had. lol
I'm not even joking this is a step by step instructional video of exactly how i ship my cards. The only difference is i use two pieces of card stock and tape the card to that. You can use cereal boxes or anything with similar packaging and still be well within the requirements from USPS. Have you ever tried using listing software yet? I'm getting into it now hopefully it'll increase my items sold.
Thanks for the insight. I'm looking to sell cards on Ebay for the first time. I've been doing shows, in-person sales and on-line auctions. This may seem like a dumb question, but I wonder if I should get a PO box instead of using my home address for a return address (solely for privacy reasons.) Do you think it matters?
I don't think it's a dumb question at all. I used my home address for a long time, I have a PO box now that I use for a couple different online things. I think if you plan on doing a high volume you may want to get a PO box
you just write down customer address on the envelope, and no pay for eBay shipping label, right? Otherwise it make no sense cuz the shipping label costs 4$
Great video , I do have a question .. since you place the shipping and you are using the ebay option... once the sale is completed where do you get the shipping label? I wanted to see that option sorry since I'm going to start selling items myself for the first time...
I'm just going to assume you can't use eBay Standard Envelop when listing from a desktop? Ten videos and every last person using a phone, zero mention of it on the desktop at all, won't let me go below 3 ounces, try and it goes right back to 3.
I don't ever post on an actual computer as my cell phone is much easier for my workflow. I just tested it and had no issue using standard envelope. My only advice is to not hit the "apply" button under the dimensions as that sets it to default size and weight. Sorry if this is not much help
@@RandomRips no matter what I did it wouldn’t show up anywhere, no option at all, until I did it on my phone and then used create similar listing to do it, then it carried over. Starting from scratch option wasn’t there, idk why.
So you can list the card to ship as ebay standard envelope, but as long as you put in the description PWE.. you can ship it for less with a stamp? How does that work? Am I missing something? I've been trying to find a way to list my 1 cent cards but not have to charge the $1.11 for shipping.
Do use a stamp, always go through eBay for shipping. The $1.11 is the cost for 3oz weight. If you lower the weight to 2oz when purchasing shipping it lowers the price to .87 cents
This is extremely helpful. I get cards like your alek manoah all the time and I wonder why they don’t take good care of the card, hopefully this will help a lot of that! Thanks for sharing
Usually this is from a postal worker that doesn't understand the eBay standard envelope process, it may help to speak to the local postmaster or one of the postal workers , I have had to do this before and sometimes they just don't know
I have never sold anything on eBay (lol). When someone purchases my listing, do I get a shipping label sent to me through eBay in an email? Just a bit confused on how the shipping off part is. Thank you for the great video!
We all have to start somewhere! When you sell something eBay will let you know when the person has paid and then you go to a shipping screen and you will purchase shipping from there after filling out the weight and dimensions of the package, then you purchase the label through eBay(much cheaper) and can print it directly from there
@@RandomRips awesome! can i drop it off in the dropbox outside the USPS since I already paid for it (assuming that’s the selected service)? And eBay just tracks it once I print the label?
What's the price difference on shipping when you use a bubble protected envelope?? I'm about to try to sell my first card and it's more than 25 bucks for sure so I want to send it right and I have it in one of those heavier cases with the magnet at the top and they lock in on the bottom. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!!
A bubble mailer will cost you around $5 to send. If you plan on mailing that card in a one touch (magnetic case) I would make sure it is tapped together or between some cardboard
I have sold a long time with a regular address, but have since changed to a PO box. I am not sure if eBay will let you sell without a return address on it. It is really what makes you feel safe
Great video so people prefer to buy it now at a higher price than auction starting at a lower price? I’m just starting and I’m trying auctions but allowing offers….thoughts? Also do you take the penny sleeve and top loader and extra bag into shipping costs?
I prefer to do buy it now mainly because I don't want to keep track of auctions. I also add the cost of shipping supplies into my price, I charge for 3oz shipping price but only pay 2oz when I ship the card
I know this video is a year old, but is a top loader to rigid for the envelope? Also, can I use a thicker envelope or does it have to be really thin like a letter envelope? Also, I wrap the packing slip around the card. Is the packing slip necessary?
A top loader is definitely not too rigid, I have sent thousands and never had an issue. You can use a little thicker envelope like for invitations, but not a padded envelope or bubble mailer. I never send the packing slip.
Quick question. When you said you change it to 2oz shipping weight instead of 3oz when you ship, how/when do you do that step? Does the post office ever reject the letter if its over 2oz?
After you sell a card on eBay it gives you all kinds of shipping options. There is where I change from 3 to 2oz. I have never had any card rejected by the post office, though 3oz is the max weight for Ebay standard envelope, if your package is over 3 oz I would send it first class mail
Great video - thanks for the help! Question - at what point do you need to go to a box just for the amount of cards? In other words, how many cards is too many for a bubble mailer? Haven't shipped anything yet, just getting all of my stuff organized.
I think it could vary, for me if I sold 7-10 cards I would probably just go with a box at that point. I always want to try and do what's best for the buyer, if it gets tight switch to a box.
Silly question, but when you print the label after you pay for it on EBay do you still need to add a postal sticker in the top right corner or are you able to drop it in the mail box as is? Sorry I have been collecting basketball cards since 98 and kinda stopped in 2006..so I just pulled out my binder full of sports cards lol all in excellent condition
Not a silly question at all. Just print out the label and tape it to the envelope and there will be something there for the post office to scan on the label you print from ebay
Often if I am sending out a bunch of cards to one person before they pay you can send them an invoice with all of their purchases and then you can ship them together. If they have already paid I would send them a message saying that you will send them all together and manually put in the tracking on each item
@Random Rips Sports Cards thanks for the reply,I was actually referring to, do you put all the cards in a a separate penny sleeve/Top loader then in team bags?
@@RandomRips I'll keep that in mind, thank you! Also could I mail cards by just putting them in my mailbox for the mail man to pick up or do I need to go to the post office and get the envelopes weights, stickered, and shipping labeled? Got a video for that?
I don't have a video on it, but I would still use a padded envelope or small box with bubble wrap and between cardboard. I would also make sure I had enough insurance to cover the card through USPS. The insurance can be purchased when you are buying your shipping label through ebay
Thanks for this awesome vid just started selling my cards and I think it’s going well. Fingers crossed. My first few items I shipped without a piece of paper around the toploader inside the envelope. Do you think i will have any issues when they scan it in the machine?
They are what they are. It's the place where you can get the most eyes on your cards. I don't think it should be free, but it would be nice if it was a little less
It is not the same price, the bubble mailer is a first class package and ships for around $5 depending on where you are located and where the package is going
Hey super helpful video! Question for you... If you have a complete set of a series would you recommend selling it as the full set or by each card? Thanks!
I don't use stamps ever, I pay for my shipping through eBay and then you can print out a shipping label. I use padded envelopes for any cards worth over $20
My issue with tape is that you can bend the card trying to remove it. Like how you tape it to the inside of the envelope…the only way to get it out without applying pressure to the card is to cut the envelope apart. EDIT: I also don’t want scissors anywhere near my cards
I got a redemption auto in hand and looking to sell. I am an avid buyer with 100% reviews but never sold. Should I list and sell some cheap stuff first or just go head first? edit: It is a Volpe on-card auto from inception
That's a tough one. I think even if you have some ratings you should be ok, but eBay may put your funds on hold until the transaction is totally complete. Awesome card though!
@@RandomRips Thanks for the advice. Someone else on reddit told me the same thing you said. Not looking to make a profit just want funds for more '23 allen ginter autos. Trying to complete the whole auto set. Its hard
Love the video thank you for all the info. You have been a life saver. Quick question if you don't mind, what is the difference between the eBay managed payment and the immediate payment? Which one should be used?
eBay managed payments is what they call their payment system after they left PayPal. Immediate payment is an option you can use that requires the buyer to pay immediately once they purchase your item, but it still goes through eBay managed payments. I hope that makes sense. Thanks for watching!
I'm a newbie on selling on eBay, have a couple cards I wanna sell but know nothing about if I should list a price or have a bid? And how much I should charge for shipping, for example i have a Ronald Acuna Jr. 2018 Topps Chrome Update #HMNT25 Braves RC Rookie Mint Psa 10, trying to find the best price to either list it for or would it be best to do an auction? And have no idea about shipping, again I'm a newbie, any information would be much appreciated!! Thanks to anyone for any advice or information!!
We all have to start somewhere! I almost never do auctions because there is just too much uncertainty. On ebay I would find the card you want to sell and look at which ones have sold in the last 90 days and make my price around that. For shipping anything over $20 I ship first class on ebay in a bubble mailer packaged between some cardboard. Should cost around $5 to ship
I do, ebay has a good international shipping program so you just pay to get the item shipped to the hub in the US and the buyer pays all the additional fees
not only was this vid very helpful but it also shows the decency of a man
Thank you so much!!!

Can I use the bubble mailer for eBay standard shipping?
Not for ebay standard envelope, it's too thick.
What do you pick for the shipping option when you mail over $20 in a bubble mailer?
USPS ground advantage, should cost less than $5 to ship that way and if it's a pricey card I will opt for insurance which is a little more
Quick question.
🙋 question I'm new to all of this why not just wrap all the cards in cardboard cheap or expensive is it because of shipping weight Thanks.
Ebay restricts thickness and weight for ESE envelopes, so for me it's just easier to throw in some base cards

Both of them are 7x4 regular envelopes I just get from Walmart or target, padded I get from Amazon usually

You can, but I don't recommend it. On eBay their shipping supplies a tracking number, if you ship with a stamp there is no proof of delivery
Do you have any comment about the 13% EBAY fees for trading card?
They are what they are. It's the place where you can get the most eyes on your cards. I don't think it should be free, but it would be nice if it was a little less
9:18 do I put my address or the person who bought it address
If you are selling on eBay both of the addresses will populate on the label Automatically, you won't have to fill anything out
You have to put in sleeve and top loader with painters tape!!
I know it's pretty crazy!
That was awesome, I learned a lot.
I'm glad to help
Is the bubble mailer the same price of shippping? 1.08
It is not the same price, the bubble mailer is a first class package and ships for around $5 depending on where you are located and where the package is going
Thanks for the quick response. 👍🏽
Do I ship a patch card the same way, eBay seller envelope?
You can if it's not too thick and still inside the weight measurements
Hey super helpful video! Question for you... If you have a complete set of a series would you recommend selling it as the full set or by each card? Thanks!
A complete set is going to be much easier to sell and way less time consuming, that's how I would do it. Thanks for watching!
Great video! Thanks for sharing 👍

do i have to go to the post office to ship them? ive never shipped anything before so if thats a dumb question i apoligize
I just put mine in the mailbox and the postman picks it up.
Do you ship the padded envelopes USPS first class to ensure tracking? How many stamps do you use with the white envelopes, and do you ensure them?
I don't use stamps ever, I pay for my shipping through eBay and then you can print out a shipping label. I use padded envelopes for any cards worth over $20
That makes sense. Really appreciate your response!
Does this also work for MTG and Pokémon cards
It does, it's for all trading cards!
My issue with tape is that you can bend the card trying to remove it.
Like how you tape it to the inside of the envelope…the only way to get it out without applying pressure to the card is to cut the envelope apart.
EDIT: I also don’t want scissors anywhere near my cards
I apply tape to the outside of a team bag, it is incredibly simple to pull that away from the envelope with no damage to the card
When you ship ..do you need to get tracking number? Or i can just drop to mailbox?
If you ship through eBay they have tracking on their PWE, so thats all I would use, I wouldn't ship a card without tracking
Its hard
Super helpful video! Thanks

What size envelopes do you use? And wow that thermal printer looks pretty cool actually from the label. Thanks so much for this!!
7x4 envelopes, I just buy what's cheapest at a big box store. Thanks for watching hope it helps!
Wonderful video! Only question is, is your address a must when shipping to someone else or is it just their information that is necessary?
eBay will want some sort of address so they can calculate shipping. You can use a PO box though
@@RandomRips thank you! Also, how much do you usually charge for shipping, and is insurance necessary when shipping cards?
For cards under $20 I charge $1.25, for cards over $20 I charge $5 and ship in a bubble mailer. I usually don't do insurance
Great Video ! Very Informative
Thanks for watching!
Which thermal printer do you use?
I use a rollo printer
Hey I enjoy this video and I really enjoy the love and support that the people of the youtube community shows
Thank you for watching! It's a great community on here!
Is there an issue with the pick your own cards? Are the lower quality?
There is no issue with it, I just don't want to see it when I am searching for cards on ebay.
i roll it up wait kid friendly uh like a roll🤣😂
Awesome video! Thank you 🙏🏼
Thanks for watching!
@@RandomRips Thanks I appreciate it
So do you include tracking on all cards?
Through eBay ESE even standard envelope gets tracking included, it's sometimes wonky , but still included.
@@RandomRips okay cool, I was curious about that. Thanks for the video. Very helpful!
@@hotcarl3854 no problem, glad i can help
@@RandomRips thank you!
Do you recommend selling on eBay?
I like selling on ebay, it's never been a real hassle for me, just be an honest seller and it works out most of the time in my experience
@@RandomRips thank you 🙏
Don’t you have to pay a 3 dollars to get the label?
The shipping label? If you are shipping with eBays ESE 3oz $1.11
Great content, thanks for sharing

Congrats Great Video Thanks

I have a bunch of old baseball cards that are collector and I want to sell them
Do you ever ship cards internationally?
I do, ebay has a good international shipping program so you just pay to get the item shipped to the hub in the US and the buyer pays all the additional fees
Can u do the QR code with the white envelope instead on printing it
Unfortunately for ESE the Qar code is disabled
Keep up the hard work
Thank you for the support!
Great video!
Thanks for watching!
Could I just write the address of the buyer rather than printing a label?
You could, but it won't be covered through eBays shipping program unless you purchase it through them and there would be no tracking
@ ohh got it. Tysm!
Another great 👍 one ☝️ 🎉
Thank you!!
