What did I just watch? Maybe I didn't understand this footage correctly but it looked like an older lady got stranded in a van and had to be coaxed out by another woman who bravely waded into the floodwaters to help her to safety while there were at least four men in huge trucks who witnessed this but didn't offer to assist? Y'all have to understand many of the vehicles of today have electric brakes. Once they go in deep water they lock up. Many vehicles have low mounted fuse boxes also.In other words STAY OUT OF DEEP WATER!
I don't have a vehicle that new. Just last year my brother and I spent 25 minutes looking for his power steering reservoir or pump on his new 2013 Flex.

6 to 8 inches is all it takes to cause most all vehicles a serious problem. People drive around in these SUVs, thinking they’re completely safe because it’s a big, heavy vehicle and the water doesn’t seem that deep.! Your vehicle will begin to float in pretty shallow water because the tires are filled with air, and the bigger the tires the more air they have and that’s why it’s deceiving with big SUVs and vans like that. Stay out of the water!

Thank God for the lady that helped the older woman walk out. Those men weren't just cowards, they are just disgusting people. That wasn't a hard water rescue, but for someone that is older and weaker, or may have a disability, they need help getting across knee deep or thigh high water. Unbelievable scumbag that sees someone needing help and saying, "well, it's time to go home."

@@gowest5145 Not, he had to push hard to get his vehicle on higher ground or he would have been stuck. That van was lost the minute she got in behind the wheel and drove into a flood. She got out ALL by herself therefore was NOT in the need to be rescued. Rescue rule #1 don’t assist unless needed rule #2 don’t assist if you will get injured yourself.

Maybe I didn't understand this footage correctly but it looked like an older lady got stranded in a van and had to be coaxed out by another woman who bravely waded into the floodwaters to help her to safety while there were at least four men in huge trucks who witnessed this but didn't offer to assist? Y'all have to understand many of the vehicles of today have electric brakes. Once they go in deep water they lock up. Many vehicles have low mounted fuse boxes also.In other words STAY OUT OF DEEP WATER!

I've never had a man in a big truck stop to help, it's always woman, pedestrians or smaller cars.
6 to 8 inches is all it takes to cause most all vehicles a serious problem. People drive around in these SUVs, thinking they’re completely safe because it’s a big, heavy vehicle and the water doesn’t seem that deep.! Your vehicle will begin to float in pretty shallow water because the tires are filled with air, and the bigger the tires the more air they have and that’s why it’s deceiving with big SUVs and vans like that. Stay out of the water!
