In this video, you will come along with us as we journey to Queretaro to extend our car’s TIP. You CAN NOT do this at the INM! Go to Aduana! Aduana is Customs. You will learn whay to bring with you and what not to bring.

It’s important to note that your TIP expiration date is tied to your residency card expiration date. So for us, we renewed our temporary residency card for 3 years and so when we extended our TIP, it’s good for 3 years. The expiration date is the same as for our card.

I live in Veracruz, and my TIP expired July 5th 2023 I've been trying my best to find an Aduana Office in my area. Do you know how long I have to extend the TIP? I might have to fly to Queretero. I hope I don't have to bring the car. Do you have the phone # for that office? Thanks, for the great video.

Well, in that case, you may want to call and if you can’t get through to someone perhaps you should get a facilitator because I really don’t know what to tell you if that happens and I don’t want to give you the wrong information … here is the information for the Aduana in Veracruz

@@ammaram5253 We didn’t use a facilitator we brought our friend. Join a Facebook expat group in the city in which you live and ask them for a facilitator. We did not pay a fee to extend the TIP and we personally did not need to show them our car. They did not look/checkout the car.

Oh my goodness....Banjército automatically staples your receipt to your TIP, as if we have any control...and as if they give us a rule book when we move to Mexico explaining that a year from now you need that paper with no staples, staple holes, no french fry grease, etc.! lol

Dang, can you say picky? 🤣 No folds, wrinkles, tears, or holes in the paper, wow. If I were in Ciandra's place, I would have waited until you left the building with your T.I.P. and expressively told that woman that I am not a facilitator and to learn not to assume! 😂 Plus a 6 hour round-trip drive, wowzers.

Poor Ciandra, she was only trying to help. It is crazy how bureaucratic some processes can get yet the reality on the street is things are very disorganized.

Hi Joe, yes we plan to take a US plated 2002 Chevy Truck and trailer. Husband was born in Mexico but has been living Houston since he was a young boy. He does have his US and Mexican passport.
I was born in Houston and I assume I would need to apply for a temp residency here at the Mexican Consulate. We do plan on taking our dogs and some house hold items with us unsure of those requirements, when arriving to the border. Thanks both of you for your insightful videos guys ❤

We actually drove the car back to the U.S. otherwise we would have had to go back to the U.S. to renew our registration or gotten South Dakota license plates

I knew I shouldn't have watched this. I had a HORRIBLE experience trying to extend mine, including visiting this very spot (but was closed) and so I called that very spot and them telling me I had to go to the border (I speak fluent Spanish; it wasn't like there was a miscommunication). I ended up having to hire someone, who went to this very spot, but they didn't ask for proof of address (this was in January, I know things vary day to day lol). I even drove to Tuxpan, Veracruz (I live near Pachuca) because other offificals told me to go to the border or a port city.

A permanent resident can’t drive a foreign plated vehicle, but there are some exceptions. Check out this article
