One of the few cool things about the game is that if you play in co-op mode, you and your partner have different hallucinations that the other player can't see.
8:43 Exactly my reaction to that scene too. They spend so long telling you how she's afraid of heights yet as soon as the elevator reaches the top she spends like 40 seconds messing about in the elevator instead of getting off of it immediately.
Just got to that scene and I sat there like okay you gonna hurry up? Seriously why are you just standing there. Alright screw you, hope you fall. And then for some reason Issac forgets about his stasis or kinesis and his ability to fly smh, nope gotta stretch out his hand and hope for the best.
Fun fact: Dead Space 1 and 2 are both shot in one take (with the exception of DS2's opening cutscene), as in the camera never cuts or changes from Isaac's continuous perspective. This was done intentionally so that the game would be fully immersive from Isaac's pov, just like how your healthbar and inventory menu are integrated into your suit, and by extension the world. The only time the camera really changes is when you die. Dead Space 3, on the other hand, breaks this rule three times between the Prologue and the first level, which on its own has two time jumps (cutting when he blacks out after falling and then cutting again once he gets on the military guys' ship).
This isn’t true for dead space 2, there’s a black screen and shift of perspective upon drilling into the gov sectors which was very immersion breaking, and kinda outta place
God of war director was kind of full of himself that he integrated no cut cameras with one continuous shot! When clearly dead space did it first! The game was truly ahead of it’s time! I’m glad we’re getting a remake
@@DwWarWolf And on top of that Half-Life did it before Dead Space. No idea why it was made to be a big thing with God of War, no cuts has been a thing for decades.

I got this game on PS+ and remember just grinding by letting the game on and putting down scavenging robots. Then I got all the parts and built two uber powerful weapons, one for necromorphs and another for humans. The game was kinda fun as an action game from them on. My anti necromorph gun slowed dowm enemies and fired bouncing spinning balls of death that cut all their limbs off in one shot, while the secondary fire pushed enemies way back. The other was just a machine gun with stasis rounds and a shotgun attached to it. I still remember how trivial it was and how cool it felt. On a sidenote, I remember going "Isaac, shoot her and Carver, right now. They are clearly going to turn on you or do something stupid.". Turns out that I was right.
When I played through, I was able to get past the problem of DLC by deploying the scavenger bot in the testing range. It still gives you resources, and you can test out weapon ideas while you wait. That way, you can even make the stat upgrade chips, as long as you have the ability to do so.
It is really easy to overcome the urge to buy a dlc gun in this game. You can replay any chapter of the game, and even sometimes rescan salvage caches you find with the bot by hitting checkpoint areas prior during the open world space chapters. I did it to build the automatic rivet gun with an underbarrel seeker rifle.
Fun fact: putting nothing but rate of fire and damage mods on the EG-900 will make it...into a monster, as well as an acid bath mod. Also, if you were to play "classic mode" you can bring in any dlc guns you have, making getting foam finger easy.
When me and my aussie buddy played DS3, we did nothing but shout "Salvage Issac! Forget Ellie and focuse on the salvage!". I honestly loved co-op for the fun element. I wish i could go back and play it again, just have a straight mind-wipe, and have a tungsten hunt all over again.

I remember aspects of it being fun, but the overall package being so dreadful and poorly designed that it became unbearable to play not long after the Rosetta part. They truly turned a horror franchise into a Gears of War/Uncharted clone. dEAd Games, it's in the grave.
Around January of this year. I played DS3 Coop with my friend. I had already played it long ago. But this was his first time playing DS3. The entire time there was a sense of buildup as the game turned out to just be a Romance simulator. His reaction was something I honestly wish was recorded. He had played DS2 just beforehand and thought it was alright and fun but lesser compared to DS1. So watching him trying to take DS3 seriously at the start and as he slowly realizes how honestly bad the game is was also great. We also had no difficulty issues. Especially when you find out the grenade and missile guns make the game trivial what with the abundance of ammo. We purposely handicapped ourselves after getting bored with the main game.
I still think the ending of the DLC was the perfect conclusion to the trilogy. Even after all that hard work of stopping the moon on Tau Volantis, none of it mattered because in the end there were 10 other moons all heading to earth. It really showed you just how insignificant your actions are in the grand scheme of things in the dead space universe. Also it gives the meaning of the name “Dead Space” a whole new meaning
Yeah, my brother and i bought the game for pc (each one a copy) back in 2013 but we never played it until 2020 (not even on singleplayer mode) and that was so fun... after that we wanted more so we played Resident Evil 5 coop on 2021 and now we are slowly going through RE 6.
People really hate the weapon crafting in this game and it makes no sense to me, it does everything it used to just with more agency for the player. Every weapon from every game is craftable within the new system. You want a tool? Build one. You want a gun? Build one. You want a classic rotating plasma cutter? Build it. You want a line gun with timed mines? Build it. Pulse rifle with nade launcher? Build it. The list goes on. They even added the ability to switch the conventional secondary fire to any other primary/secondary fire. Javelin gatling gun primary fire, with force gun primary as secondary fire is a personal favourite. Less exciting but a good demonstration of what i mean is the rotating line gun. I actually applaud the devs here, to breakdown the weapon sandbox into a fully modular system that accounts for all previous weapon function in the franchise is quite the feat. Then expanding on the level of function available to each weapon engine, for example in 1 and 2 we only had the pulse/seeker rifle but for 3 you can go burst, auto, semi, pulse and shotgun. Same applies with the line gun, using the tesla core you can create the line gun alongside other electrical fire modes. This resulted in a massive array of weapons and tools to get you through this game, everything is feasible because of the ridiculously OP upgrade system. I will concede that the attachment and upgrade circuit system wasn't the greatest idea. In practice it is really fun to make the most overpowered tools imaginable, however unimaginably powerful weapons do eliminate some of the survival horror aspects. The gatling Javelin with max damage+fire rate plus stasis coating is absurd. Necros can't get within strike range no matter how hard they try. I love it don't get me wrong but its pure silliness. That is the DS3 hill I'm willing to die on. I can see the plot rewrite mountain over yonder, the bad coop implementation hillock across the way and the microtransaction pit to the center of the earth beneath me. I can't defend any of those failings, but god damn I'm gonna defend the robust weapon system.
@@IAmDaDumb1 I did mention that. However I don’t think that tanks the entire system. Your in control. Think your too powerful? Get more creative and less min max.
@@Upsetkiller456 I just don't get what makes it 'not good'. My whole first paragraph outlined how they maintained the old weapon setups within the new system. That means at minimum it's the same as 1 and 2.
@@WastedPot For me it's that so many of the weapons are actually just terrible to use in conjunction with the re-worked necromorph combat. The whole "If it's too strong, play weaker!" argument is really weak and in the end just excuses poor game design. The whole upgrade chip system is boring and provides *less* options than the previous nodes system as you are literally just waiting for objectively better upgrades. They also shouldn't have removed the 4 weapons considering the games far higher emphasis on action, allowing for more gameplay experimentation. On paper it IS 4 weapons but you lose out on the unique special fires of each of the individual weapons for the 2nd weapon, evening back out to 4 weapons without the Alt-Fires.
The moon at the end is one of the things called "Brethren Moons". The marker is the start of its creation. It turns normal organic creatures into the necromorphs, then when it gets enough organic matter it evolves into one of the many giant tentacle monsters. After even more matter, it creates another moon. Don't know what the goal of the moons are, but they're the reason humans haven't found any other intelligent race anywhere in the galaxy.
Man, I thought trying to beat Dark Castle on Impoppable was tough to deal with. Dead Space 3 takes the cake for being unbearable without Cyber Quincy because nothing gets past his bow.
Personally, I do feel that Isaac's personal journey had wrapped up by the end of DS2, so by the time we got to DS3, it was like "Well, what's left to do with the character? Why, put him in a daytime soap love storyline, of course!" I mean, at this stage, he's been through everything else. Also, I kind of like the idea of discovering the secret origin of the Markers, and it kind of brings the Marker storyline from the previous games to a full circle. So, is Dead Space 3 a downgrade from its predecessors? Yes, sadly it is, but that in no way makes it a terrible game; it's not the best entry in the franchise, but it's still very playable.
I know it’s gonna sound strange but I actually started playing dead space with Dead Space 3. And it was so, so good. In fact, I still play it today, so I’ve been playing Dead Space 3 for 9 years and I still think it’s a fantastic game.
Truly so. Still replaying the 3rd part, trying to unlock everything that's possible and beat all possible game mods. The Space chapters (from 3 to 7) are my favourite from all the franchise - so atmospheric and satisfying
I enjoyed all the games a lot. I was kind of annoyed with the third game at first but overall I actually really enjoyed the story. The first game was definitely the best in my opinion.
I remember playing this game in coop with a friend. Everything you showed in this video was new to me. I have absolute no remembrance of anything. That’s how original this game was.

I still believe this game is Co-Op down right, not only is carver implemented into the story further and each character sees their own versions of things and they even split up at times and it makes the game very replayable.
Dead space and mass effect have a lot in common in terms of plot. Alien artefacts left behind to advance humanity/whoever finds them. Artefacts goal is to accelerate advancement, also indoctrinate those who discover them. Both the reapers and the markers create husks/necromorphs that do the grunt work of the hive mind. The final evolution is created by gathering all organic life and processing it into one giant biomass (dead space) or creating a reaper (mass effect) these aliens already living in dark space waiting to pounce and consume.
The sad thing is that you can tell the devs were pushed to take the direction DS3 did with how the only DLC you actually need is the extra campaign. Kind of like the mtx in Devil May Cry 5 being beyond useless because you will get what it offers naturally at some point during a run. It falls in the strange limbo of "Good ass action horror game but subpar Dead Space game because EA wouldn't stop breathing down our necks."
What really pissed me off is they made the final chip upgrades locked behind and online mechanic and then disabled the mechanic so on hard it has a crazy difficulty spike at the end its not impossible but my fave thing in survival horror like evil within re4 and deadspace is being an upgraded zombie slaying badass
Dead Space 3 is hard until you unlock the Mjolnir and upgrade it to max damage. You literally fry your enemies with one shot. It is still satisfying tho

8:56 to 9:11 is by far the worst narration on the alien planet part I’ve ever seen. Edit: I take it back, the brethren moon narration at the dlc part and describing the necromorphs as “zombies” is the worst part.
7:06 This is a reality where they have decided that lace-up coats are a good idea. This is like a cultural weak point waiting to be exploited in some way.
It never ceases to amaze me how some writers will go "Okay, we're writing a game with zombies"... At which point, we will note that originality is already rising from its chair with a sigh, getting its coat, leaving the building, booking a flight to another continent and taking a little nap on the plane. These writers will then spin excitedly to face the camera and go "But we call them _something else!"_ as if they'd just invented Creativity 2.0. And we, the gamers, are left to groan and shake our heads and try to find otu which continent originality escaped to.
7:55 If anyone reading this happens to be in highschool, feel free to do an English class essay reviewing the story for this game. There's so much easy criticism you can levy against the game.

The problem is more that it has shit balancing and it’s too easy to be massively OP
@@IAmDaDumb1 I did mention that. However I don’t think that tanks the entire system. Your in control. Think your too powerful? Get more creative and less min max.
I always thought the crafting was a good idea on paper for the game since Isaac is an Engineer however, the way it was handled just was not good.
After 8 years, I finally get to play carver. And all I had to do was buy my mate a brand new computer. ... ... And I would do it again if I had to!
excuse me but space is already pretty cold, you don't need arctic gear in a dead space game!
Cool pfp dude.
I just realized how stupid the arctic space gear is... XD
I was wondering why i love this channel so much and then i realized, oboe is basically American indiemous
Rad. I could never play this for more than an hour. This video blessed me with the experience that the game has to offer, condensed into 15 minutes.
Get a buddy and a big bottle of Whisky. Dead Space 3 in Coop can be an absolute blast and be absolute hilarious.
best Way to enjoy Dead Space 3.
Same. Tried it twice and lasted just about more than an hour both times.
Literal same experience. Uninstalled the game within an hour, and I installed this game while playing Dead Space 2.
I loved every Dead Space game. Including the third one.
Your a homosexual
When he said the star wars line and you followed through, I don't think I've laughed that hard in a while
When you realise the dlc weapons are just re skins of what you can already make in the game 😂
I enjoyed all the games a lot. I was kind of annoyed with the third game at first but overall I actually really enjoyed the story. The first game was definitely the best in my opinion.
This game SHINES in co-op! Even in the beginning, the story/dialog changes a bit for co-op
I remember playing this game in coop with a friend. Everything you showed in this video was new to me. I have absolute no remembrance of anything. That’s how original this game was.
"Not to worry, we're still flying half a ship."
I don't recognize that line from Star Wars.
From the start of the third movie when they're crashing on the planet (forgot how to spell it)
@@MegaJacob9999 Ok, I'm vaguely recalling the crash on Coruscant. RotS is probably the only one of the 6 Star Wars movies I've seen less than 10 times, so I don't remember the dialogue as well.
Whiskey two five zero is a pronunciation clarification for “WTFZ,” making the soldier’s callsign “What the F-k Zombies”
Something i dislike about dead space 3 is that you can only use two weapons at a time instead of four.
same that feature is a pain in the ass
'Finally a captive audience for my soliloquy' lmao.
Hi, new to the channel, and I'm very glad looking up random opinions of Ace Combat 6 led me here ;)
Yup, this guy's a diamond in the rough!
I still believe this game is Co-Op down right, not only is carver implemented into the story further and each character sees their own versions of things and they even split up at times and it makes the game very replayable.
2:16 How many people he killed here just to cross the street???
I love 4:03, imagine being Norton and start hearing Isaac try to cut his comms in any way possible
This is a top-tier co-op game. One of our favorites.
Press X to doubt.
The commentary in this video has a very Rick and Morty inter-dimensional cable feel to it. I love it.
Remember this man played dead space 2 without getting scared
I still playing these games... I still like the third
Lol to be fair the traffic driving down that freeway in the first mission is unmanned. Isaac even says that in the cutscene leading up to the part in the game
DS3 summary: mocked the game the whole time until I joked about a delusion that my mate didn't get, then as soon as we took the game seriously, we lost interest.. 8/10 game
One of the most underrated comedy video
Arvel the swift became a sci-fi general bad guy. Dead space 3 is truly one of the games ever made.
“Don’t lock me in here with this CUTSCENE!”
"So this is it, huh?" Sums up Dead Space 3 nicely.
One of the most fun parts of this game was flying a ship
Just these commentary is making me crack up like tomorrow
"The game instantly got good once I bought the dlc I can't explain it"- John 3:16
Oh cool another oboeshoe video ! Time to check the comment to see the guy always making Quincy-related comment and the other guy wanting a Sigurd gameplay.
12:09 there are side missions for him but you have to play co-op with someone to access them... XD it's so stupid
0:57 Oh cool, it's Joshua Graham/every dark elf in Skyrim
"dead space is pretty original hang on lemme switch to my UZI Red Dot rq"
9:38 This part just makes everything look like a comedy lmfao
I loved this game but playing it right after the first two made me wish I played it first
Dead space 3 was my first dead space and I loved it. After having played 1 and 2 I don’t nearly enjoy it as much as I used to.
New favorite channel.
Ah Yes. Dead Space 3. Another game where you wont feel anything except disappointment...if you play it Single Player.
In coop on the other Hand...My god one of the funniest game experience i had.
That N7 on Isaac’s armor might as well be a Mountain Dew logo
Petition for Oboeshoes to play Sonic Adventure 2 ✊
8:56 to 9:11 is by far the worst narration on the alien planet part I’ve ever seen.
Edit: I take it back, the brethren moon narration at the dlc part and describing the necromorphs as “zombies” is the worst part.
Well one of the only cool things about this game is that you can crank Doom Eternal quick swaps, I found that quite interesting I guess. : V
the best descrtiption i've heard of this is that it's a terrible Dead space game, but a decent co-op shooter.
Why is there an arctic suit? A spacesuit is already insulated for the coldest environment.
Also isn't the Arctic Survival suit basically just the Advanced Suit from 2?
7:06 This is a reality where they have decided that lace-up coats are a good idea. This is like a cultural weak point waiting to be exploited in some way.
The theme song to DS3 should be GIVE IT AWAY GIVE AWAY NOW !
Speaking of those frog bastards from Dark Souls 1, I had to play DS1 on hardmode because I couldn't figure out how to get uncursed lol.
I think shepherd is the doctor guy from fallout new Vegas too.
Lol I love that its basically a recurring joke that the british guy hold u at gunpoint and then issac just does what he wants
I had a friend who loved Dead Space, but he never wanted to talk about this one
I like 2 the best, but 3 is a nice time though I wish the combat was more like the others
No it's not it killed dead space and I want to know where 4 is 😂
I really hope the devs for the new dead space remake are listening to everything oboe has to say
I know people hated dead space 3 but I kinda liked it was a fun game
Playing this game Coop made it a lot more fun
7:55 If anyone reading this happens to be in highschool, feel free to do an English class essay reviewing the story for this game. There's so much easy criticism you can levy against the game.
Good ol' Dead Space 3. The only game where you can only have fun with a friend or if you spend money.
I feel like we all forget that ds1 and 2 had just as much dlc it just wasn’t in your face and you actually had to go to your respective consoles marketplace to get it, this game had potential and can be fun but it’s not a good dead space I feel like if ea had taken it’s grubby little mitts off the dev team this would’ve been at least a little bettered maybe I’m 100 percent wrong I don’t really know
This was when "DLC" became a bad word. Which sucks because these "DLC's" aren't actually DLC's since all the content in them is already in the disc. What they truly are just mtx.
issac fought a losing battle the entire time
Dead space 3 will go down in history as one of the games to ever be made
