- Margaritaville At Sea Islander will make her debut on June 14, 2024 and we are excited to be on her inaugural sailing! To get ready for the ship, we provide a detailed first look and go deck by deck to see how the ship compares to sisters in the Carnival Spirit class. We leverage deck plans, photos, and renderings from Margaritaville At Sea to give you the very first look at the ship from top to bottom.
The new Margaritaville At Sea Islander is the former Costa Atlantica cruise ship. She sailed for Costa Cruises many years before being sold to MAS where she will transform into the Islander. For today’s ship tour, we’ve scoured the deck plans from three separate ships: Margaritaville At Sea, the original Costa Atlantica, and Spirit-class sister, Carnival Cruise Line’s Carnival Miracle.

I agree. A newer ship with more amenities that cruisers have come to expect is going to help the brand tremendously. Plus, we believe the 2-night sailings currently offered by Paradise don’t necessarily do the line a lot of favors from a brand perspective. ;) -m
We are booked for July 16th on this ship. I am super excited to see it. I loved my first cruise on Paradise. Plus, as a Vet, the Hero's program rocks!!!!

They just added 6 and 7 night options and Costa Maya, Ocho Rios Jamaica, George Town Grand Cayman, and Belize!
We heard about that! Super excited! It will be interesting to see how they handle those longer itineraries since they've gotten so used to running the Paradise for 2-3 nights.
Booked this ship for November. We actually like Margaritaville at Sea so we know exactly what we’re getting. Looking forward to it. Thanks for the 411! Frank & Lola’s and Cheeseburger in Paradise will be complimentary on the Islander. Maybe QRM is the Crew lounge/bar/gym area?

Great video! I actually just got back from my second cruise on the Carnival Miracle and I just love that ship, it’s one of my favorites too! Knowing the new Margaritaville ship will have such a similar layout definitely has me intrigued! Sounds like it will have super cute theming.

Hey guys, Tampa here. I'm sailing on the MAS Islander in August, 23rd to Cozumel. Its just a four night, however, I can't wait to see the changes they made being a Spirit class ship. I have sailed the LEGEND and MIRACLE, but this new ship brings new excitement to cruising, compared to the usual RCI and CCL. I will keep you updated when I return. Sail safe !!
We agree; we believe this ship really could have the ability to help Margaritaville At Sea better establish itself as a cruise brand worth looking into. Just stumbled upon your channel(well, TH-cam kind of threw it my way, but....lol) so glad you did a deck by deck breakdown and comparisons! We sailed on Carnival Spirit when cruising re-started here in Jacksonville, and I fell in love with the Spirit Class layout! Big enough you can still get lost, but not too big making it feel intimidating! From what I have seen so far(very little) the Islander looks like a beautiful ship and I can't wait to see more! Maybe soon we will be sailing on her! Enjoy the inaugural cruise! :)
Welcome to the channel! We plan to put out an updated deck tour to the channel in the next few days. It truly is a beautiful ship! We’ll be heading to the Carnival Spirit at the start of July so it’ll be a great fresh comparison for us!

Rita's Tacos is a restaurant at Margaritaville Cancun all-inclusive and is absolutely amazing!
Thank you for sharing! I'm a little bummed as I was really excited to try Rita's Taco House, however, they've already changed the venue on board! It's now going to be Mexican Cutie Cantina. I'm hopeful they'll have the same options as Rita's Taco House. Perhaps they didn't want to use the same branding due to a reduced menu on board, or maybe they couldn't secure the rights... We'll share all about the new venue and anyone that's been to Rita's Taco House can let us know how it compares.
Note: the deck plan still lists Rita's Taco House, but all dining options and web pages on MAS have been updated to reflect the new Mexican Cutie Cantina. Got to love new ships and inaugural sailings!! :)

deck 8 extended balcony worth it?
That’s difficult to answer! If you think you’ll be spending lots of time in your cabin, versus going out on deck, then the extended balcony might be worthwhile. Or, if you really want to spend time out there for breakfast on the balcony or to be able to watch sunrise/sunset, it would provide more space to allow you to spread out. It seems like everyone has their own approach to extended balconies. No matter your decision, we’re sure you’ll have a great cruise!

I’ve been looking for verification that the free sauna, steam room and showers are gone. Could you share where you’ve seen that?
Also, is that gone on the Miracle as well???
Hey there! The deck plan for the original Costa version didn’t include a sauna and steam option. If you take a look at old Costa Atlantic ship tours, you’ll see they don’t exist sadly.
As for the Carnival version of the Spirit-class ships (e.g., Miracle), those sauna and steam rooms are still located in each lockerroom and included in your cruise fare. We worry about Carnival eventually charging for access, however, on several ships the locker room is how you access the gym, so that would be difficult (thankfully).

I just did a little research and it does seem that the Atlantica did have a single sex steam room accessible via the locker rooms- perhaps it wasn’t as cool as the Carnival version.
Who knows what it might be like once the refurb is done- but here’s hoping.
@@BrianWhite-mj2or right! We’re keeping our fingers crossed, but if it’s anything like Paradise, the stream room and sauna will be behind a paywall. Makes us sad. Will find out soon, though!
