2:31 "if anything they're too happy; they could do with being a little bit less content with their lives" is the most Margaret Thatcher-y thing I've ever heard on this channel. Bring on the austerity measures Egg! 😂😂😂
Not Liz Truss 😭 😭 😭
Disappointed that you don't have to solve this before a cabbage in the corner rots away 😂
For the tile upkeep, as I understand it that isn't linear in multiple ways. Not every tile costs the same (both as a purchase price and for upkeep). Tiles that contain resources cost more, which is a problem for custom maps, that often have very high resource density. So every tile is very expensive, skyrocketing tile upkeep costs in general for those cities. On the other hand, having very little buildable area (water tiles in particular) supposedly makes them much cheaper as well, so it does go both ways. Another way in which it isn't linear is that the base price for each tile changes depending on how many tiles have been bought already (first ones are cheap, then more expensive). There's a graph and explanation in the blog post about the cost for more details on that aspect.
So for a "realistic" approach in the context of Economy 2.0, I would prefer keeping upkeep at 100%, but re-locking all tiles and just unlocking those that are actually in use. In other words, just unlock the tiles you would've unlocked if this city was built with Economy 2.0 from the start. If nothing else, I would be very interested in what the upkeep would be for Egginburgh in comparison to paying -30% and if that was realistic.
I did try to relock them but couldn't seem to do it!
@@OVERCHARGEDEGG Ah ok that's unfortuante. I just know that the mod-checkbox needs to be set from the main menu, then the map has to be loaded and it should load with the tiles locked. Of course the vanilla-option to unlock all tiles needs to be off when loading. But I'm assuming that's what you did (since you had costs for tiles, vanilla unlock would disable that), so no clue how that could fail.
shout out to that tornado that was completely ignored 16 minutes in
That thumbnail sent me! 🤣🤣
Time for some Trussonomics! :P
The tile upkeep is going to be a design/creativity killer, so adjust it down all you need to.
100% yes.
or just use the 529 tiles mod, or unlock all at start.
Nice. That was a lot of work.
One minor visual comment: at about 12:00, when you're putting the pathway park in invernegg, it would be neat to see if you can extend the borders and continue the wavy path so it looks longer. Might be useful later.
Great video! Seeing the city rebound and adapt is pretty nice.
When you said fire isn't a big deal I'm reminded of the massive fire City Planner had that burned down most of his city and killed +3k people
@@joaobarrosleal I too thought Egg was tempting Fate with that remark.
@@IndomitableAde And considering the postal facility immediately caught on fire he definitely jinxed it 😆
Tile upkeep slows down progress extremely and you are basically forced to build compact manhattan type cities with lots of resource based industries.
It sucks.
or just unlock all at start or use 529 tiles mod
Nice rebalance Egg! Oil refinery is something I can't wait for... been playing about with oil related things quite a bit lately (including specialised rail head). Looking forward to it... Egginmouth? Port Egglight? ;o)
To lock the unwanted tiles, I think you need to use the 529 mod to first lock them all, and then re-purchase only the tiles you have actually built on. I've also seen 12% tax for all zone types be the magic number that for whatever reason seems to balance everything under the hood. Oh, and to echo others...the thumbnail 😀
dang, that was fun to watch. Ty. 🥃🥃
That thumbnail omg
I think of the number of patients in the medical facilities as inpatients, with way more people than that actually served.
Cheers for Starmer and good luck to the UK.
You should add more post boxes everywhere there is no coverage
Also you should replace the normal elementary school for the urban elementary as it has more capacity and also very less cost compared to normal one which have approximately 150,000
Taking tile upkeep to just 30% based on real life values for undeveloped
34 patients in that clinic! hahahaha
the tile upkeep sucks, I play without it because economy is more dependent on services and other factors now. I'm enjoying the new patch so far. Love the city, as always :)
At least Liz Truss has received a mandate here. 🤣🤣🤣
Very informative video with the new update! I swear once I can start playing again, I will not use tile upkeep. Of course, when you are a billionaire, it's nothing 😁 Great video today and lots of humor! Look forward to seeing this city grow again🤩
I can assure you that Antnee has NOT grown up! 😁
Can you turn off some of the buildings in downtown? So keep them there as decoration but just not functioning until you need it later in the build.
I think maybe relocking tiles instead of lower tile upkeep, maybe?
I did try that but couldn't seem to get them to relock
You can do it, Egg!
Im glad I don’t have to deal with this since I’m on console, but it’s sad seeing people’s first cities getting destroyed by the update
Great to see the city is saved!
I like Egginburgh now, it feels good that it is back. I still can't play CS2, since the update and mods my CS2 just crashes when I try to run it :(
/ Cheers Daniel Jeppsson
Try using Skyve mate, will identify any mod clashes for you
The thumbnail 😂😂😂
2:31 "If anything they're too happy, they could do with being a little bit less content with their lives" is a typical Tory statement, I could totally imagine Liz Truss saying that.
The opening line to the manifesto
12 is the golden number for taxes
Increasing it to 13 and more lessen the tax return in long term
"Probably don't need the truck extensions" for garbage processing, removes and then have fewer trucks than was in use
Yes egg
Crazy demographics when you got a pop 135k city with 33k elementary students.
The greatest show on earth. 😀 😎😺
Love this
Lol Liz 😂
What settings do you use?? I struggle with graphics even though having a good computer… :(
Amazing❤
I’m a fighter and not a quitter….
Lol
"Eligible" for education does not equal "has demand" for education. Most eligible people don't need to get further education, because they are working adults. (At least that is how it was in CS:1)
Thanks for the clarification!
@@OVERCHARGEDEGGyes egg
So with hospital, health level is so low the Hospital sits empty, if you remove it you will immediately need it because health level will fall? Nice
You may want to be careful with worrying too much about education demand, you recently had a massive death wave which means everyone who will replace them will be younger, meaning they can go to school and all the people being born or moving into town will increase the demand. I would be cautious about fulfilling this temporary demand instead of letting it balance itself out for a few months/year in game time as education is your largest money sink. You may future proof too much fulfilling current demands.
už sen to prestal hrat docela dobra relaxacni hra ale ju pokazily temi aktualizacemy kdyby to byl aspon Hard Core obtížnost zvlášť I have already stopped playing it, a good relaxing game, but the themes were ruined by updates, if it was at least Hard Core, the difficulty is quite special
Egg, did you legit just leave 20 percent of the population unemployed and conclude you HAD to adjust the upkeep? Nearly a quarter of your people have no income to tax.
First
Liz Truss did nothing wrong!
