Today we've become a throw away society. It amazes me that these engines, over 100 plus years ago still run today. Thank you Classic Tractor Fever and Aumun Auction for showing us some history.

I'm surprised they weren't scrapped during one of the wars. Really cool, but that's alot of iron.

When I was in my teens, the number of engines that were just junked or buried was in the thousands. I was told of a super rare engine was buried. My memory went south when I had my surgery. Now I just keep wishing I would have written down the place the gem is resting now. The prices are just crazy. I cannot believe how popular the hobby has become. Nice work Classic Tractor Fever Tv.

They certainly don't make them like that any more. A tinkerers dream from simpler times that we all long for 🔧🔩⚙

Can you imagine having an engine in the late 1800’s…all of these are wonderful. I bet we are not the first nor the last that has and will watch them run in amazement!

Engineered to run & run & run forever. As long as you did their maintenance.
    Those were the days!

imagine the grief those early englishmen had trying to get that huge 2 hp engine to actually run at all.....a 3 or 4 ton engine making barely enough power to turn itself over, with probably 300 different things that, with the tiniest adjustment in length or weight or timing, could make all the difference between running or not running......even something as basic as reliably and repeatedly igniting the fuel charge must have been a huge huge problem to overcome in the time before spark plugs and any basic knowledge of electricity.......but such workmanship! ....the victorian era british were famous for their world-beating high quality workmanship....the whole engine resembles a steinway grand piano in conception and execution

Otto, Duetz and Lenoir always get all of the credit but it was Franz Burger who invented the first Gasoline engine in the USA.

At least one of them also has roller tappets. Many people still think that they're a modern invention.

The person that restore the engine was Preston Foster. He lived in Warren Ohio and his business was “The Warren Works”.
Unfortunately one of my very best friends Preston Foster passed away a number of years ago. He was a driving force at the CoolSpring Power Museum. The Coolspring power museum still operating today as good as ever and regardless of it anything that anyone says the place existed for the first 25 years because of Mr. Foster. I was a Director at the museum and I know the inside story on every person during my tenure on the board of directors. Peter Knight and Preston were very good friends and he did many restorations and the most valuable ones are not listed in this episode.
It is truly stunning that the spelling correction on TH-cam changes the correct spelling to the incorrect spelling. It’s amazing how you can use Siri and everything worked out wonderful but TH-cam voice to text is crap. I’ve had to come back and edit this twice.
