Irv King family, Artesian So. Dak. Has one, it's beautiful, a 20 year restoration was done many years ago. They also own a Pioneer Special, also in running condition.
I went to an Estate Auction Dowagiac MI . There were many tractors and Trucks there was a very nice Pioneer there. I forgot it's selling price $30,000 $45,000 maybe .. I saved the auction flyer for many years. I was thinking the Pioneer was Green .. I have a photo of it .. Seems the rear wheels were ???? Feet Tall ? 9" maybe
@@specialedmichigan more like 40' wide but very long. I was there in person at that auction. I took a lot of photos.. I should scan them again . I was told he had an auction earlier and sold most of his steam powered Equpment .
@@specialedmichigan I heard he made his money owning a machine shop that specialized in making large parts maybe many of them for the Michigan Shovel and Loader CO ect. I also heard that he was a smoker and had Emphysema He enjoyed driving a golf cart down the middle of the barn looking at all of the Antique Tractors and Trucks .. He liked 4 wheel drive trucks as I do too..
"Whats so unique about it?" How about safety - looks like almost all the moving components are enclosed, separated from the cab, whereas most steam machines and even a lot of oil-burners had open engines where everything was hot, heavy, moving very fast, and would kill you in a heartbeat?
I just love the history of these tractors. Hope to see them in person soon. Nice video too.
Great to see one in the flesh. We hope to have ours looking this good some day.
I love old trackors my step dad and I use to build old ones from the 20 to the 50s.
How to unload a tractor worth $500,000? Great care, experience, and have a lot of fun doing it. Excellent video folks. Thank you.
400k not 500

Most truck drivers don't seem to know that you can shut off and restart a modern engine as often as you want.
