Now we see signs that indicate a malfunctioning ECU. Whether it's rough idling, stalling, misfiring, or poor fuel efficiency, we'll explain how these symptoms are often linked to an ECU problem. Additionally, we'll cover warning lights such as the Check Engine Light, which can provide valuable clues about ECU issues.
Next, I'll explore the diagnostic process for identifying a bad ECU. Our technician will explain the tools and techniques used to diagnose the ECU, including scanning for error codes, conducting electrical tests, and inspecting wiring connections. We'll also discuss the importance of ruling out other potential causes of similar symptoms before confirming an ECU malfunction.

It’s nice to show appreciation and say thanks for sharing to the person that posted the video, I remember when I was studying the fundamentals of motor vehicle technology in my technology college, I was all up for sharing whatever I learned with my classmates, (that’s how it should be) but some of them were really held whatever they learned close to their chest..I’m always going around telling whoever wants to listen and is a motorist, to buy a cheap diy obd2 and get used to the main trouble four trouble codes, powertrain, body and chassis also network..I explain about the can bus and how it’s wired with can high and can low and the terminating resistor with 120ohms 60ohms on each end..ect it might seem a bit advanced for them but with many humans when you wet their appetite with something new their curiosity wants to sometimes dig deeper, (well in my case anyway) I tell them the different functions on a more professional OBD2, like the bi-directional feature which can make you control modules remotely especially if your obd is a BT version some people love that demonstration because it looks like some kind of magic, also I tell them about the topology feature (by that time they fallen asleep usually) and how the topology can show you a similar layout of your own vehicles module layout and how and if they are communicating with each other ect ect..all this information sharing is good for one main reason if they educate themselves they could save hundreds on repair bills because the technician can mess them around with saying this is wrong and that’s wrong, even though we all know fixing things can get a little complex sometimes, but just making people know your not totally ignorant to your vehicle’s working can scare them off, even many main dealers have parts cannons working in their garages, (parts cannons = those technicians that don’t take the time to diagnose the problem correctly and just throw needless money at your vehicle with you having to foot the excessive bill) ok for the ones that can afford it I guess..that’s it I’m finished take some time out to look at the car care nut..me myself learned tons from him..and he seems to have zero ego and arrogance but a wealth of knowledge…
