I'm upgrading my Ford Focus RS to ... a new Ford Focus RS! Allow me to explain the move to ordering the new Focus RS Red Edition, limited to 300 cars and arriving with me in the spring. It will become a bit of a project car as well, so what shall we do with it!?

It's really nice to see that although you have a garage full of exotica, that you're still drawn towards Ford's; albeit the new-school kind. But performance Ford's have always been referred to as the "poor man's super car", especially the Cosworth editions (ignoring currently value of them!) Simplicity is always a draw, on/off power delivery and basic setups without fancy options make a really good drivers car. Hope you enjoy the new RS when it comes.
I've had my RS about the same time as Tim with average mileage and hasn't missed a beat it's so good I'm buying a blue edition. So that comment doesn't hold any water I'm afraid

It is 3% of the total production of Focus RS cars! Not 3% of the UK production.... Have a read online. Also Matt from the Smoking Tire can give you some great insight into it.

you can take your RS to " Vilner " for interior upgrades :) . They made the interior of tramonata , SIN cars as well as the Rimac.. the one which Mr. Hammond crashed.
Just a side note, the moonroof actually blends very well with the gloss black roof. One accessory I'd suggest is the carbon fiber RS shift knob to go with the rest of the internal CF accents. One question: why did you not get the winter wheel package and instead swap tires on the same wheel?

Make sure when you go to view it you check the paint under the arches as they can have bubbling there! (my dad's has been done twice under warranty for it)
I would like to see you take the new one to 500bhp and show all the details of the build. Selection of pistons and rods etc. Tuning these cars at this level is what most of us do (Evos, Subarus, Cosworths and of course the Focus RS) so it would be great viewing if you could do a tuning series of vids on your new car.
I totally agree with you about the sunroof. Yet my current car has a panoramic, all-glass roof. Lol. And lane discipline; good lord how i wish people had that here! As for the Red Edition, i think it's going to be awesome no matter what!

Hi Tim, when you sell your current RS I'd be interested to see what the depreciation was and how much you lose/make on it. Also, I'm interested to know what kind of MPG you get on your long drives in your RS.

Probably because it's only done ~11K or not enough heat cycles completed, hot/cold starts which cause the issues. Warranty is the saving grace and will cover it though of course, if it happens, hopefully it won't for you.
A supplier shipped the wrong head gaskets to Ford. The cars with head gasket issues had the gaskets for the 2.3L Mustang mistakenly installed. That would be about 3% of the RS's.

Hi Shmee, Noticed that there was a lot more camera shake and general background noise in this video, not sure if you've changed any settings or hadn't tightened the clamps enough Just a heads up! Great video none the less, looking forward to see more!
I’ve done a few V-max autobahn runs in my (Superchips) mk3 RS. The car stays beautifully planted right up to 167mph (TomTom speed). It would be very interesting seeing what the FPM375 tops out at.
Will you be putting your blue RS back to stock,and fit your performance parts onto the red edition Or sell the blue on as is,and mod the red edition with brand new parts?
How do you adjust the headlights when you come to the continent? Cause I know legally you have to do it because you could blind the oncoming drivers since the headlight on the left will be stronger than the one on the right for you.
Lorenzo Trotta A lot of modern cars have a way of changing the lights to “European mode”. If the car doesn’t have that, then you can buy deflectors fairly cheaply.
Tim, when talking about speed, you always talk metric and very often forget to mention in MPH. I would imagine that the majority of your subscribers are either British or American and we both use the imperial system, so please can you make this adjustment?

Hi Tim, if you want to tune the interior, consider the company neidfaktor from germany. JP from JPPerformance tuned the interior of his Ford Mustang there, and it just looks absolutly astonishing.

It would be honestly the same because it has the same engine, a little updated interior and that's it ! So I think I won't be such a huge difference.

No, it's only the cars that were equipped with the s550 mustang head gasket which were prone to break. They're only 2% of the RSs
It was actually 3% from all the sources I've seen but the point remains, it was not because the rs engine is badly made.
Bullshit. A simple gasket change won't fix that stupid open deck design. It's a shitty temporary bandaid "fix".

Problems are solved. Doesn't happen anymore on the newer models.
