Also, I think the implication was that the costume gives her Sonic's abilities and she doesn't possess them herself. Personally, I like that they kept her hair the same. I really like the teal color :D .

This mod is actually pretty good, when they change thing they actually change you know? So this is okay, by the way why are you saying she isn't real? Yeah it's true, but Sonic isn't real either so why that would even matter? If some one can become Sonic, Hatsune Miku would be that person, this actually make sense love her or hate her, this mod actually make a lot of sense.
To be honest, it sounds like you're being over critical with the mod because you either don't like or aren't familiar with much of the content, or were expecting much more of it to be different. I also don't know too much about Miku and am not to fond of Vocaloid music as a whole (mainly, as most people agree, due to the vocals), but I can't describe this mod as anything less than excellent. The musical changes sound genuinely cool, the excuse plot for why you're playing as Miku was funny and very welcome, and there is so much care and attention to detail the modder put in that I know it will be a joy for not just a Sonic/Miku fan, but a fan of either series who isn't incredibly familiar with the other.
I just noticed that the song that Miku was singing when you where in Chemical Plant was "Two-Faced Lovers". That's why it sounded familiar (and the second Eggman fight was "Tell Your World"). I just wanted to say I really like the new opening (and also the ending but my reason as to why is more apparent with the opening) because unlike Mania's actual opening that is just a bunch of weird shapes and forms expect for the one Studiopilis cameo and it has basically nothing to do with the actual game unlike its obvious inspiration that CD opening while the one here actually is an introduction into the story of this mod.
This is an amazing work, the sprites, the little details, congrats to the mod creator for such an amazing work... however, i'm a little bit concerned, i'm starting to see that some people thinks hatsune miku is a sega character, not because this mod but because of the diva games and some cameos/references to sega franchises in the game... also i don't understand why is ok to make music using miku hatsune as a voice, is ok to make fan-art, but is not ok to make games based on miku hatsune just because "sega has the rights"?
I guess because Sega holds the video game rights. And crypton holds her IP. They're a lot more relaxed about people using her character since all of their characters are open for fans to change around etc. But Sega isn't so relaxed in the case that people could be profiting off the IP they're supposed to have as well. plus to use Miku Hatsune voice you need the software and her character, so you've already given Crypton and Yamaha their share, unless you want to update. (Not sure if they charge more though for that.) But considering the software is a few hundred to buy. And a good 60 for just the voice, all one time buys mind you, but that's more than enough for Crypton and Yamaha to ease off besides the fact the entire idea behind their software is to be a backup for song writers who cant get a real person to sing for them. While Sega probably spends a good couple of million ad is only getting maybe 60 at most per game sold.

I personally think this mod looks promising but I'd make it a Vocaloid mod rather than just Miku, like adding voices humming to the melody instead of adding (off key) vocals from other songs. If your issue with Miku is how robotic she sounds then you won't like most of the songs made with her first version, you should listen to MitchieM's works (Burenai ai de) in which he makes her sound surprisingly realistic. You also might not know there are english vocaloids but most people don't so, yeah.

From what I've heard in this video, I didn't really feel like the mashups had good harmony between the vocaloid tracks and the sonic soundtrack. I feel there might be some cool stuff they could do if they made it so it was just the lyrics that were vocoloid that they add to the soundtrack, or go full on with a new song that meshes better with the vocaloid voice

From what I've heard in this video, I didn't really feel like the mashups had good harmony between the vocaloid tracks and the sonic soundtrack. I feel there might be some cool stuff they could do if they made it so it was just the lyrics that were vocoloid that they add to the soundtrack, or go full on with a new song that meshes better with the vocaloid voice
