- We've pulled the wing off the Porsche GT2RS in prep for a rematch against the 2021 911 Turbo S 992 and in the meantime we head out to get some wingless Draggy times.

GT2 RS with no wing is the ultimate sleeper. People will definitely look at this 911 strange when they hear the sound and see it accelerate.

That car should do better than that .Mph should be in the 137 range and e.t 10.1 to 10.2 maybe the da in Utah hurts the performance

I'm about to pull my wing off (I think I mentioned that to you at Top Golf). I'll be curious to see the comparison between wing on / wing off.
What's the elevation where you are at? I'm trapping 137 with my wing on @ 4500' and I've always been fascinated by the difference elevation makes in the quarter.
Cam, is your car modded/tuned? I always feel like the ecu is limiting my trap speed. I get a better 60' time but still trap the same which doesn't make sense. 991.1TTS.
According to draggy it was a 133.3 trap at 4265’ but a little on the chilly side, under 50 degrees I think
@@neilschneider7367 No, my GT2RS isn't modded (although it will be shortly!).
Trap speed is what I like to use to get an idea of overall engine power. It's an interesting metric because it's fairly constant regardless of how good your initial traction is. Intuitively it *feels* like a better 60' should make a big difference to the trap speed, but it usually only affects it by a mph or two. As far as know there isn't any type of software limiter on the 991- other than typical preignition pullbacks.
@@fulltorque4048 I need to pick up a draggy and compare it against my Vbox 🤔. It's always been funny to me that engines love the cold but tires hate it.
If possible please race the GT2 RS against a 488 Pista or a F8.
The GT2RS runs under 10.5 on other videos still a track beast though

But need to do the dragy on a more flat surface that negative 3.61 slope is not valid and doesn’t give a true comparison to other cars. The 0-60 was down hill and then road goes slightly uphill which makes the 1/4 mile valid at only a small negative slope over the longer distance.
If the road is downhill then you need to do 2 (preferably more) very fast launches in either direction then average the two times and that is the 0-60.
I can’t believe that owners choose to ruin these beautiful cars😔

Why worse 0-60 times than the 991.2 Turbo S? Aren't these supposed to be the same or slight quicker stock? 1/4 seems like it can do better but makes sense as it's not a prepped strip plus elevation plus 100 pounds of fuel... 91 octane?

Your traction control is slowing you down turn it off then do the run again you will see you are way faster. The guys at 9ff do this on their 1200 hp gt3 rs and it kicks ass is so fast but if you have traction control it can’t keep up and you lose power on the top end as it tries to compensate. Great video keep it up 👍

Gt2 rs is much faster in germany cause of the better quality fuel, try race gas for some tanks to get the full potential of it

On a sticky drag strip yes, but on that cold road I wouldnt be surprised if the gt2 and turbo s would best it , there 600lt gets killed by them.

Just get a 765 LT !!!!
Not sure a 765 would do good times on that road, would be spin-city , look at there 600lt it gets crap times

Well you should never do an official quarter mile run with a man 195 to 200 lb and you had probably a full tank of gas 8 lb of gallon of fuel get rid of the guy put it down to a quarter tank you probably do 10 flat at 2.6 in the 0 to 60 time
Always wondering why American do care a lot about the 1/4 mile drag. GT2 RS is a focking track car ;-) Use the American muscle cars for those videos. Those are made to just go straight!
I wish we could get access to the track more often but unfortunately sometimes we only have straight lines available. This car is still super impressive in a straight line!
Tracks have long straights, so it needs to be able to accelerate out of a corner and power down a straight. Testing a quarter mile is just a easy metric for seeing how fast a car is. Sooo calm down marky marc.

Just wanna hear, "because we love simpleness and just going straight forward, that's why me make muscle cars and have drag races". ;-) (just kidding)
Although I appreciate Porsche I find it hard to buy another model considering the GT2RS, GT3RS, 911 Turbo S, Carrera etc. etc.. all look so similar in design. Porsche needs to move on from this fugly beetle look they have had for over 3 decades now and go with something more futuristic. Perhaps use the 918 as a base to design their new 911s with. Wider, lower and a bit more stretched would make the styling a bit more appealing to people like me. I'm not really impressed with the GT2RS either. My 2018 NSX with a few bolt-on's runs faster than this in a straight line and will outperform it on a road course easily. I did 2.7 0-60 just recently and wasn't even on the highest setting on the JB4 LOL. Handling, well the NSX is AWD and a hybrid so no match there.
First a 911 should look like a 911, they have different body styles, they make different power and they make a new model in less than 10 years with facelifts of that new model, if they use a 918 as a base would you call it a 911? Second the gt2 rs is made for track and also is rwd while as you said your nsx is awd and is a hybrid so your acura has alot of advantage and it's not fair, it's like putting a tlx vs a turbo s and say the turbo s is superior in every way
