I’ve watched and enjoyed this movie many,many times and I still find it hilarious. John Wayne and Maureen O’Hara always give such sterling performances with a barrel of laugh in between. She is such a spirited lady. In this movie, there was such glee on her face as she stuck her hat pin in the rears of those unsuspecting fellows. That fight had me in stitches.😂😂😂

My dad loved the old westerns. Got him cable so he could watch the western channel. I would stop by on my way home from work to make his supper and he would say lets watch a good western, then fall asleep 15 minutes into it.
I watched McClintock 8 or 9 evenings straight.

I just started watching. Love this movie but to be honest, the scenes with O'Hara and DeCarlo together have always been my favorite. I find those two actresses the most attractive to me.
I am 51 years old and my father ( passed away in Feb. 2015) raised me up on all the old westerns and still enjoy watching them all the time and never will get old to me. Grjngo thank you !

Well put Paul. I'm a 61 year old man which delivered news papers for years back in London Ontario. The news paper company would treat the carriers once a year to a local theater which always played a western. We share the same love for them.

I love this quote from him, "I believe in white supremacy until the blacks are educated to a point of responsibility. ... I don't feel we did wrong in taking this great country away from the Indians. My grandpa and I always watched this during the weekends, but recently he’s spent more time at home…because he’s had very bad pneumonia, but that doesn’t stop him from enjoying the duke, these movies help me and my grandpa forget that he’s sick and even if for a moment.

That's right. Plus the jobs belong to the company's not to the specific occupant of the position. All the values espoused in this movie are a true American values. There's so much treason going on in this country by both politicians and their political appointees and other government officials as well as other so-called Americans.

i’m at the end - hilarious chase through town. What i’m thinking is, no matter how many zillion times i’ve seen this film somehow it never gets old!? Besides the *stellar cast* - there’s just simply _never _*_one_*_ dull moment!_ Every character & each scene is entertaining! i don’t mean to say it’s like nonstop _laughter_ - the women dressing beautifully is fun, the father/daughter talks are fun, the 4th of July celebration is _GREAT_ fun .. even the FIGHTS are fun! I Had not seen this movie in years...I absolutely love Marureen and John. She has an adorable personality not to mention gorgeous as well.
I've watched it many times. I have the DVD to it. But G.W Maclintock reminds me of me.. Today. Political figures causing problems and difficulties in general and we're all over the place as well! I'm taken by one of his speeches of how much times and things change.. And sometimes not for the best! And even that is true! We've gone through a pandemic, an avoidable mistake of leaving Europe behind and a governing body not in a good place in general! I'm equally as unsure of these times as Maclintock was of his time in the 1890's - similar situation for sure!

Grew watching the Duke. Have watched his movies thousands of times and still don't know the scenes. I have a terrible memory, so watching them over and over is like watching for the first time.

Plus a few ties with this like The Sons of Katie Elder, Chisum, Rooster Cogburn and others. But it's all a matter of opinion.

John Wayne was lucky enough to star alongside some of Hollywood's best entertainers, namely Rock Hudson, Dean Martin, Ricky Nelson, John Carradine, Robert Duvall, Dennis Hopper, Robert Redford, Lauren Bacall, Ron Howard, Chill Wills, and Yvonne DiCarlo, but none of them could go toe to toe with him like Maureen O'Hara did. I think that's why she appeared in five of John's movies between 1948 and 1971.
Every movie she was in with him turned out to be one of his best. They had serious chemistry on screen.
She was a strong woman and a brilliant actress. The world lost a talented actress of character a few years ago.

The Duke and Robert were never co-stars, unless Redford was VERY young and uncredited. Both are legends!
