When I want to cheer up I find myself coming to see you, and the dogs! My husband had a stroke three years ago, and I felt there was little happiness in my life…..I started looking on the internet and came across your videos, and I found myself smiling again! To watch you save these precious dogs just makes my day! More good news is my hubby is healing, and driving again, and life truly is beautiful! I still come here to check up on your progress, and I appreciate you! I rescued two dogs, and it was the best thing I ever did. My schnauzer just passed away, but I rescued her from a life of abuse, and I feel great she was never hit again! I actually like watching you go through periods of reflection…it shows a soft side that is cool! I turn 76 this year, and I wake up thankful each day I have a hubby who is healing…,my precious Punkin….(Bichon) and friends who love me! 🤗

@@elizabethstolle1793 Thank you! My sweet Punkin passed away about a month ago, and I have adopted an older Maltese Poodle Tobey. His owner died and he was in a shelter. So glad I rescued him. You touched my heart! ❤️

I'm from England and watch almost all of your videos and I've had dogs all my life and four years ago I adopted a dog from a shelter,a year later I rehomed one from a lady that couldn't cope with him anymore,and five days ago I adopted Bruno from Dogs Trust (a rehoming shelter)he was a stray in Turkey,was run over and had one of his front legs amputated,was brought to England and given up to Dogs Trust so I've got him home with my other two and he's settling in at his forever home.

Me too I have 2x 3 legged dogs from EU plus 6 others including Staffordshire bull terrier rescues all are getting on a bit now a-art from two wee ones. I would adopt more. So upsetting to lose 2 dogs due to old age. So so upsetting. My dogs are my children. Thank you I watch your programmes but sometime turn off when upset. You are amazing ❤

The only criticism I have is your changing the dogs' names when you adopt them. Why do you do this? I know it's just superstition, but I have heard all my life that it's bad luck to do that...change an animal's me when you get them. Have you ever heard that?

Lee, I think you mentioned in one of your videos that Butters
is the pack leader? A dog that small that runs great Danes, Rottweilers, dogs that could eat her, if they wanted to, which they don’t, in one bite. Would you consider doing a video on how butters got this job? I’m sure we would all be fascinated as to how this tiny, tiny thing rules this dog world!

Lee, don't feel too bad about how you feel. At almost 73, and having been extremely active my whole life, I have more days than not, feeling " discombobulated ". Being a Type A I find this the most frustrating thing about aging. My brain is still trying to do what it always has, but my body is saying " Are you kidding me? " You are so right about not being hard on yourself, but that's the hard part, right?
Thank you for sharing this as I watch it in July 2022. The timing is perfect . I relate to you and what you are speaking of so much.
It's bizarre and painful to suddenly I have no animals or birds at my home as I am in a long challenging recovery for my health and for the first time could not care for another animal. They're family and I love their little souls and spirits, I should say Big. So much love and joy and companionship!! So much joy seeing and feeling the joy they are experiencing in being loved!

@@rkw2259 For Sure A Blessing. I grew up with Saint Bernards, now nearly 69, no family of my own left, I get such joy from seeing Lee's two Saints. I just LOVE big dogs and giving them hugs. Wishing I could build a tiny house and live on Lee's dog santuary because of the wonderful and loving energy from his dogs and him too! Blessings and Healing for any life challenges you are dealing with.
Dane's are awesome dogs. Gentle Giants. They know how to use intimidation. Your property is coming along nicely.
I love Danes! I used to doggy sit - nothing but Great Danes. It’s like having a teenager in the house.
My fiancé’s mother has a Dane. He’s a goofball but is wonderful.

Lee’s animals portray the truth about all animals, farm and domesticated, having emotional and cognitive responses. Look how happy they become when he shows up to greet them. They follow Lee everywhere, even on the other side of a fence. They perk up after acknowledgement and yearn for more attention.

For dogs , it’s seven times shorter. Just have to make sure they get seven times the love. Sounds like a perfect time to relax with your buddies on the couch swing. All the hard work you do is worth it if you get to hang out with all those pups you’ve made happy. You are a rich man.
Just remember you need to take care of YOU before you can for other's. Your a good person don't be hard on yourself. So many of Us appreciate you and admire you for all the love you give to your beautiful animals ❤
All your dreams are coming true with the sanctuary, there's nothing to beat yourself up about, you should be proud just like all of us are proud of you. I lost my house in the housing bubble. Had to put up my 2 black labs. (Brother and sister) to the shelter. The shelter promised they would not be separated. And they weren't. They told me they got adopted by a new family with kids on 10 plus acres to run.
I cried a second time....knowing they were still together and lots of running room. God bless you for having the ability for taking on such care.

Hi Lee, please don’t ever forget that you have given so very much. Your motivation, determination, and commitment is so inspirational. You have so much going on…building and organizing the sanctuary, the day to day care/upkeep, your ongoing rescue efforts, social media, and all the other projects you are involved in. I imagine that on many days it can be very overwhelming. When we have so much going on it’s hard to take time to reflect. Remember you deserve time for you, self care is so very important. Just know that your all your efforts, your dedication, your hard work, and your empathy shines through to all of your followers. This is reflected in the difference you make each and everyday in the lives of your furry family. Thank you for all you do, and for being ‘you’!

I couldn't imagine doing what you do...your life is very full with the rescuing, the building foundation of your rescue center and not to mention all the animals that need your attention. Take a break for a day..sit back and relax you know you need it and its well deserved. So don't beat yourself up...alot of animals are depending on you. BTW the place is looking great!!

I have offered my son services & his camera to help get more videos. Lee understands that these r great ways 2 promote rescues. Most shelters r lucky 2 bring a pet on the noon news. ASPCA ads r so tragic they're hard to watch. My son ,who also lives in Oregon, volunteered at a shelter & realizes it's not only a great way to promote adoption but also 2 recruit volunteers. Shelters always need more, esp young people

What you are doing matters! Not only are you saving animals with your huge compassionate heart and a lot of hard work but you are saving people too! Dear, you are working really hard. You are still young and you do all your work with so much passion and love.
But sometimes it's better to do it more slow and relaxed. It wouldn't help the animals if your body shut down or you could get a burnout...
I know what I am talking about. I'd raised three kids, I was working always full time and in my rare free time I try to help animals in need. I was for many years a volunteer in our local shelter and some animal rescues and I'd loved it so so much...
Now I am almost 60, my body shut down in many ways like high bloodpressure, Diabetes, MS and some other issues...
I can't and don't want to stop my work with the animals but my body tells me only 2 or maximum 3 days a week and the other time I need to rest...
Of course we have animals at home cause I couldn't live without them...
We have 3 Maine Coon boys and one dog.
They are all adopted. The last adoption was our sweet dog Marley. He is four years old and they found him at a dumpster in Greece...
He had a very rough start in his life with lots of scars, bruises and several burned scarfs on his back...
But now the wounds healed, he isn't anxious anymore and he loves life to the fullest.
This is what makes me happy but I slow down to have more time for all that animals in need...
Only cause you have to slow down that doesn't change your mind and you are a angel all the time 💝🐾💝🐾💝🐾💝🐾💝
