    Correction: It normally takes 18 years to move from step 1 through step 10. In the video, I say 20 years.

    Hi! I love your channel! It has been super helpful! I applied to a job with the Army Medical Command and it's an intermittent schedule. I believe it is an NF- 03 on the grade scale and it also broke down hourly rates. I was wondering how pay works for intermittent employees? Are we paid salary or hourly?

    I negotiated a Step 2, Vacation Step 2, and 100% year salary as a signing/relocation bonus.

    With a master’s then I should be looking at GS 9? I have worked for 10 years but only a couple in public sector including a year of AmeriCorps.

    • @armandcuret1
      @armandcuret1  ปีที่แล้ว

      It depends on your experience. With zero experience and a master degree you could qualify for GS-9 positions solely on education. With some relevant experience and master degree you could qualify for higher GS grades.
      The experience does not have to be from the public sector. It can come from the private sector, the military or from volunteering.

    Do you know how NAF and GS salaries and grades correlate? I am an NF-04 and can't find any information. I don't want to accept a position or offer lower than I am truly eligible for.

    • @armandcuret1
      @armandcuret1  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Shirley, NAF salaries and experience vary across the country. In the D.C. area a NF-04's salary is usually closely correlated to GS-9 (65k - 80k). In this case, you should be eligible for GS-11 after 12 months of experience. It could be higher, it really depends on your responsibility and experience gained in your current position.

    • @armandcuret1

      It should be included on the job announcement advertised. You can always pull up a pay chart from the local area and double check. Thanks for watching!

    • @mithicash1444
      @mithicash1444 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      In most cases its included, if it is not it will ALWAYS say it under the salary range. Announcements that aim to fit roles in different regions that vary in locality pay would usually say that

    So let's say you have a bachelors degree and 4 to 5 years of experience in a field like human resources. Would that qualify you for a pay scale of GS 10 to 13?

    • @armandcuret1
      @armandcuret1  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Perhaps. It would depend on the type of experience, the job announcement and the way it is written on the resume. But it is certainly possible.

      All you need is one year at a 7 and a fully successful evaluation along with specialized experience. And with Usa jobs one wrong answer can disqualify you. Trust me I did this plenty of times. Or go through a DHA. Just went from a 7 to 11 on a DHA and will get a 12 next year depending on supervisors approval.

    Once a GS grade is established and then retired; if a person goes back into employment, do they start all over again?

    • @armandcuret1
      @armandcuret1  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That individual should still be eligible for the same GS grade based on their experience. They would use their past SF-50 to apply to government jobs. Keep in mind that reemployment in the federal sector may affect annuitant status.

      Fully successful is all you need which is a 3 to get your step or grade up if you are going for a promotion. Good job on all 5s. I got 3 5s and a 3 which I didn’t understand why I got the 3 in that category but sometimes they don’t want to justify all 5s and it’s hard with my agency to get all 5s so I’ll take a 4.5 which still puts me in the outstanding range.
