Thanks for the video...having exact problems ....almost started to change plugs, wires and coil pack....04 freestar with only 98,000 just felt the plugs should last longer...just kept researching and found a builtin for this problem.

I have an '06 F150 with the 4.2L V6 and the same thing happen. I had this rattling noise for almost three years that happened when I was accelerating and only when the engine was warm, but everything was running fine so I ignored it.
I was driving around one day about 4 months ago, and it suddenly started hesitating, running rough and _really_ rich. I scanned the OBD and I got codes for fuel injector 5 and the bank opposite stuck rich. So I took apart the upper manifold to replace the injector and saw that module in the back and was curious what it was. I touched the linkage and it fell off. I bought new bushings, replaced all of them plus the injector, put it all back together. Runs like a top and no more rattling!

Percy, thanks for the video. I have replaced all 4 plastic bushings. I was able to get the 2 outside rods to snap into place, the inner 2 bushings on the module will not keep the rods fastened when the engine starts and runs. Eventually the engine starts and the rods pop loose from the module side and in turn the engine starts running rough.

thank broh I'm gonna to try that that makes total sense both valves open and close together I have a 2003 Ford Windstar and it idles like crap and wants to keep stalling I think maybe all of mine are broke but that would cause a serious problem with timing with those valves not opening together I hope this works going to go check it out

Does anybody know the duty cycle is on these? Does it just open 100% and close 100% or does it open at all different levels like an IAC ?

I have a 2001 Ford Focus zx3 that needs intake manifold runner control replaced I’ve called everywhere including the ford dealership and they told me that it is discontinued for that year and that no other year ones would interchange but I’ve seen where online it states they will interchange from 2000-2004 with that part I’m just trying to see if anyone can tell me if it will or can possibly point me in the direction to possibly get the part since it’s been discontinued

Yes, it sounds like your MAF sensor is clogged up, its an easy fix. You need to go and buy some MAF sensor cleaner, it comes in a spray can. Heres a good video on how to access the MAF sensor. There expensive to replace so I recommend cleaning it first. th-cam.com/video/iiigGj-JsiI/w-d-xo.html

Heres another great video , remember to only use MAF cleaner, and nothing else or you will wreck your MAF sensor. th-cam.com/video/_TO7ZC5N-aA/w-d-xo.html

Could be the spark plugs and you just need to reset the computer to get rid of the code.

The Dorman bushings did NOT work for me. They did not hold the rod in. IT just pulled out. Will have to get Ford parts (expensive). (Yes I installed them correctly. Put the bushing in first, then insert the rod. The rod goes in easily and comes right out. Just a tiny bit of catch but not enough.

I had the same problem with the Dorman part. Did the Ford part work for you?
