The RX 6800 is ageing like a fine wine. Anyone that bought the RX 6800 / 6800 XT on launch still has no real reason to upgrade if they aren’t gaming at 4K. Those two GPUs are still 1440p monsters and even at 1080p are still overkill.
Yes, I play in 1080p and I have not tried a single game where I have to lower the graphics except in Watch Dogs 2 but because of the CPU, for some reason that game is very CPU dependent and my Ryzen 5 5600x is not enough, but In the rest of the games, the processor does not use more than 35% and I am thinking of buying a Ryzen 9 5900x or maybe waiting a little longer and buying a Ryzen 9 5950x.
and after that I need to change the monitor but in my country the import is so restricted that the cheapest 1440p 165hz is +600 dollars and is horrible, with some worse features than my 24 inch 1080p 60hz tv from like 2010, so I'm hoping that in 2025 the general liberalization of imports of electronic components will begin when the new government's reforms have already had a great effect, but the government is still new and the economy has barely begun to recover this month in most sectors after escaping of hyperinflation and Javier Milei's shock reforms and the basic law for Argentine reconstruction that will eliminate a large part of the Argentine bureaucratic structure has not yet been approved.
@@kaxike7988 get the 5800x3d if you wanna stay on AM4. It performs better than ryzen 9 because it has double the cache. Btw wow thats a lot of money for a 165 hz monitor. I am in Greece I can order you one for much cheaper and ship it somehow if thats more worth it and you trust some stranger 😅
@@kaxike7988 we have the same setup with 1080p. but i'm using 165hz monitor 24 and its true it's overkill. but i love the fact that i can just limit fps so i dont use a lot of power (power is kind of expensive in my country). for rpg games the card only requires around 80watt. freakin efficient beast of a card.
@@Cakalank It's true, now I'm basically limited because of the prices of monitors in my country, 800 dollars now for the cheapest one and 920 dollars for a decent LG one, so 1080p 60hz of a tv with a scratched screen is my only option xd
Well I mean it can achieve 4k30 so even in 4k they're still pretty good
for those NGREEDIA fanbois saying AMD is trash i just want to remind you that this card cost the same as rtx 3060 ti while being stronger than rtx 3070 ti and having double the VRAM
Even tho i own an 6800 myself u said 1 wrong. The rx6800 is compareable to the 3070 but not the ti version
@@jappienator1782 It's actually faster thant the 3070 TI in pure rasterization, however that flips around when turning on ray tracing (assuming the 3070 Ti doesn't run out of VRAM).
FSR is trash so all AMD GPUs are trash, you’re wasting money on an inferior product.
@@calvin659 or... just don't use upscaling at all!
@@calvin659 Then you haven't heard of FSR3, which recently got fixed and works wonderfully.
I bought that card myself for 378€ new and im really glad I did. Its quite an underdog in my opinion.
very similar to my price 390 euros but it was 1 year ago, still running most games at 4k if not native then with fsr, absolutely great
I really enjoy watching your videos, it helps me give advice on pc builds for my friends and their friends
Glad you like them! Thanks for watching 😃
I was starting to miss Sunday's videos, very good kryzzp as always
i firstly started watching your videos to know which gpu to buy for my pc build, now i just watch because you're so charismatic! keep up the great content!
Love watching your videos. Always exciting to see what GPU you’ll do next.
Hello kryzzp, I seriously love what you do, all the benchmarks, you really make some performance numbers look fun, thank you so much
It's so uncool of AMD. They should send him their cards as well. He's basically the best benchmarker on TH-cam.
Nvidia does but AMD Doesn't? WHY??
@@HypNoTiXz GPU market is no longer a priority for AMD. It doesn't care about content producers and their consumers.
@@HugoM.M. same as nvidia they also doesnt care u can check the new prices

@@hunainraiq9685i dont get why you feel defensive over AMD knowing just like Nvidia they dont care, though you are right, Nvidia doesnt care either. I've been thinking for 3 days now which graphics card to get and today I've been watching your clips all day when I see it recommended for 6800 when you just released a top video, you're really the best TH-camr for testing graphics cards
Thanks 😊 glad you think so!!
@@zWORMzGaming do you have a 7800xt?
I've been requesting this one for while. Thanks mate
I started watching a lot of your videos because they are #1 Informative. #2 Entertaining. and #3 Good quality content.
I was waiting for the rx 6800, i asked for it and here it comes, thank you for the video brother🤞
How is the gpu? I also ordered one.
I just got an rx 6600 and I would love watch a 2024 update video for it too
BTW this video was lit 🔥🔥too... Keep it up kryzzp!
I got a 6600 too and xeon 2650v4

Instant like! So glad you are expanding your card collection! :D
Those CS2 skills are awesome !!!
Also the 6800 is quite close to my Overclocked 6700 XT and TLOU has FSR 3 and FSR 3 FG now!
indeed.
it is not, the 6800 is around 20% more powerful than a 6700XT

@@evilleader1991 i did bought 6800 like month ago. After overclock it is still much slower than rx 6800 XT. But for my gaming... i can put all games on ultra, and the new grame generation is working great. helldivers 2 on 1440p ultra native with fg i get 100 to 130 fps all time :)
So happy you twsted helldivers 2! I havent been able to play it yet waiting to get a new pc so i can play it and cant wait
Keep doing great things all love to you 💗
I recently bought a 6800 + 12600k combo and it did not let me down for the price (and during black Friday)
Yo Kryzzp :D Absolutely looove your little dog. Its sooooo cute
Great review as always .. is this gpu new to the collection ? .. wonder how much it cost u
Love these videos❤
This....this is the answer i needed. it almost feels like this Video was put down jus for me.
I got a Sapphire Pulse 6800 for about $240 while I was on vacation and have yet to test it out. I searched extensively for gaming benchmarks but had no luck. I watched the 6700 XT and 6900 XT reviews and tried to guess how the performance would be, and now I am very glad I picked it up. Great video man.
How is it
Wow. Thats a great deal. I have the Nitro +, and its quieter than my noctua case fans.
i always enjoy ur vids kryzzp iam old fan of urs back in 2016 i only wanted u to test rtx 2080 or ti plz im waiting for u to test old rtx gpus 😍🥰
Love to watch your videos , but can you please test a few RX7800xt testing please♥♥
My biggest concern with higher end rx 6800 (xt) cards is that they might only get another 3 years of driver support.
I mean the vega cards also stopped getting supported in 2023, 7 years after their release so its possible the Rx 6800 might only get a few more years of driver support.
And this could mean we might end up in a situation where the card is technically still powerful enough for modern games, but simply doesnt get the driver support for them anymore which would really suck
Linux still support 14 year old AMD GPUs thanks to the open source mesa drivers, and runs better!
You might wanna look into the nimez modded drivers, they even add afmf to older cards which dont even support fsr3 fg like the rx 580
I have a feeling they will support the rdna2 lineup for quite a while. It was more successful than Vega by far.
Technically, it didn't stopped in 2023
@@aboveaveragebayleaf9216 vega and polaris are gcn, and the 500 series sales completely eclipsed any rdna3 and rdna2 gpu sales by a mile it's not even funny, and it's still got axed, sure they MIGHT give them longer support, just like they might not, AMD's cpu trackrecord is pretty good, but their gpu one? not so much
He did it ! Well done kryzpp for getting the RX 6800
Thenks ❤❤❤ i asked for this video cople week ago❤
Thank you for showing so many games. I plan on playing most of these games too!
Happy to help 😃
Thanks for watching!
I bought one for $340 mid last year, coming up on it's first anniversary in 2 months. I play at 1080p, however, so almost every game I throw at it runs at around 100 fps. Absolutely love it.
With some FSR implementation yeah, i also have rx6800, also bought it for around 350e, and it can push no problem 1440p or higher in older games, for 1080p its better to have also x3d cpu, it boosts performance by a lot. But for higher resolutions, only GPU is relevant.
Ohh wow It,ll be even more awesome on 1440p
@milosstojanovic4623 Yeah, I'm on a rather compact 7.5L ITX setup with a 5800X3D, and the fastest card I could find that fits my case was a Reference 6800.
My intention was decent 1080p capability until 2026, at least, or 2027 if possible. If I'm getting 1080p max at 80-100 fps today, I can expect 1080p medium/high 60 fps then.
@@hasnihossainsami8375 for 2 more years it should be okeish, i did not plan keeping it more than 2 years, they are increasing requirements fast. So because 7th series was not that better, i bought rx 6800. But that one 7th series GRE looks damn attractive to buy at some.point.
the looong awaited beast is here
Your benchmarks are THE best!
Crazy, I literally just bought one of these yesterday open box from Microcenter and was wondering whether or not I was going to keep it for a spare rig… still hanging in there!
Picked up the 6800 back in 2021 and it's been great for me. Aged like wine
its less than 4 years old so it perform obviously good.
*🤘Epyc video Kryzzp!!🤘... The fine wine AMD GPUs*
bro i love your videos,
im an architect and i have a question if you can help i will be gratefull
- What do i have to check on a gpu to know if it is good for my design programs?
I change recently my 6600xt for this big boy and I don't regret ! I sell my old one to this 6800 and I buy it for a very good price and the upgrade is massive ... probably the best GPU today in this price range. Great video
One of the best GPUs for it's price
It's the best 1080p card for no ray tracing, all other settings ultra max, in 2024
yo worm, can i get the settings you have for msi afterburner? also another great vid!
Lovely video, thanks man. Seems like this GPU is still relevant and actually reasonably priced, compared to Ngreedia cards. I might grab one soon tbh. Btw, I don't give 2 shits about ray tracing, so it's all good.
And I'd like to point out that you're quite good at CS hah. At least you seem to play better than most TH-camrs. Do you come from the 1.6 golden era? Those were the days 😅
This is the GPU that destroyed 4060Ti 16gb
the 6800XT destroyed the 4060Ti 16gb, the 6800 destroyed the 4060Ti 8gb

I heard the rtx 4060 is horrible
It's not horrible in the sense of the card itself, the issue is that's its only 10-15% more powerful than its previous gen's cousin and the fact that in 2024, they only used 8 gigs of V-ram, I have the rx 6700xt and soon 12 gigs won't be enough😢
Now they have a second generation with 12 gigs, so in a sense NVIDIA, corrected itself but they have earned yhe nickname GREEDIA

Good to see again el krizzpo❤
this card is now as old as the 1080 ti was back in 2020
What lol😂😂
You know it's a good GPU when the only downside is lack of DLSS
That's barely a downside, FSR is becoming better and works fine the way it is now
@@torradasuprema395 FSR has been stuck in place for years
@@GewelReal definetely not, they are improving and it will be much more noticeable with the new GPUs that are going to start using dedicated AI hardware.
@@torradasuprema395 It has been. The FSR algorithm has not been updated in years. FSR3 is still using FSR2 upscaling.

Cool video!! Could you make a video where you test the RX 7900 GRE in Cyberpunk in the middle of Dogtown? In that area specifically, AMD GPUs struggle a lot (KEEP IN MIND to put "Crowd Density" to High, because some AMD GPUs struggle with that in Cyberpunk), it would be nice to see how good the GRE actually is in such a demanding area, even at 1080p non-RT!
I get two of this GPU this week and I am very satisfied with its performance 😊
Well yes, the RX 6800 is still quite good, it owns the RTX 3070.
The detail? Extremely few stock outside the USA.
I hoped, that you will revisit this card. Thanks for the content. I have this card with a r5 3600x and its a blast
@5:00 - When going under the billboards and seeing the round tower with the red bands and the other buildings coming out of the fog... Wow. Even without ray tracing, that is GORGEOUS.
edit @26:00 - (Helldivers 2) Seems weird to me that it would use the GPU more for a tiny area with virtually nothing moving or changing compared to a huge open area that's constantly changing and has a huge number of different things that need to be rendered at once.
Hi Kryzzp! How did you keep the gpu temp below 50C° most of the time? I need tips on cooling gpu's
Im thinking of buying a new gpu for my pc but im not sure which one to buy at a budget. I have an nvidia gpu in my mind so which one do u recommend?
Absolutely a fantastic GPU. I am using it and playing warzone is a smooth buttery experience. Awesome review.
I missed this video format,is so nice to see one GPU being tested in multiple games in one video.
Would be funny to see the return of the LEGENDARY GT710 (even if it probably will not run most of the newer games xD)
Hi Kryssp! For testing Warzone with 16gb cards, use vram target at 50. Setting it too high with cards with a lot of vram completely destorys 1% lows
The Temps are so cold in you tests form this card :)
when you put the video shots of the card with the doggo I can't help but look at the doggo
Which AMD drivers are the best to use with this RX 6800? I've read the newer drivers can slow it down, not sure if its true though...
Can you retest the rx 6700xt or rx 6750xt ?
And maybe not only 1440p for expample also 1080p ?
Just curious, was this with SAM enabled or no? in certain titles that can make a very large difference in a positive way
I bought this card back in December of last year to replace my dying 2070 super. Same exact one you're reviewing there, you can reduce power draw to about 150 watts if you undervolt and underclock, which helps a lot if you have coil whine (like me) and want to save on power. Going from my 2070 super I'm pretty happy with it, does everything I want it to and maxing out game graphics doesn't use up all the vram so this thing will definitely get me by for a while!
One thing I find a bit weird is that people have recommended I buy the XT version of this card for the extra $50 or so, even though you can overclock to get *roughly* the same performance
Thank you brother
Hey I was wondering if you could test some games with Amd's Frame generation. As it is a software thing it would be interesting seeing it in more intensive games.
hey...i've noticed you don't do that many UE5 games...is it just an oversight, me not noticing or is there an actual reason you dont do so?
Very happy to see you benchmarking more AMD cards!
Finally someone talking bout my GPU, much love ❤
YES KRYZZP, in one of my old comments I mentioned how I had a RX6800 and wanted you to do a video on it! The comment was me saying I had and rx 580 then 6600 and then the 6800. (now I have a 7900xt) perfect timing to because my birthday is tomorrow, have a good one Kryzzp!
Edit already: you have the same model as me! (XFX)
What happened to the Sony WH-1000xm4 ?😅 What’s the headphone you’re using now ?
I know you don’t do it for your videos, but if you’re interested, these cards overclock very well. You can use morepowertool (MPT) and raise the power limit and the voltage (I believe it’s “temp dependent vmin” for the voltage, you just set that to what you want) and get an extra 15%+ out of these cards if you give it more voltage and can hit the 2600mhz cap.
Wanted to mention that Helldivers 2 introduced an Async Compute option in the graphics tab, not sure if this will help AMD gpus, but maybe worth experimenting with.
Hey, you were in Niktek's latest shorts vid about the GTX 1080 Ti
Okay okay you convinced me!!! I ordered a sapphire 6800 open box from Amazon.
I remember that I had "Dedicated VRAM" working in Warzone last time I tried it, maybe you don't have Afterburner & RTSS updated ?
One thing i am quite surprised about is the temperature of the card, pretty damn low! XFX did a good job on the cooler for the card. I have had an XFX card myself (6700 XT) before and can vouch that they do indeed cool really well.
Watching you enjoy the games while using this card (mostly CS2) was a great experience to watch.
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks 😊
I bought it January this year for 1800PLN (around $450). And ngl, couldn't chose any better for that money!
Pls can you test the gt710 it’s my gpu, I wanna know if I can play cyberpunk with raytracing overdrive🙏🏿

I just picked one up a couple weeks ago to replace my rtx 3070. I do not regret the swap.
Did you do an undervolt? The rx 6800 is consuming much less than a rx 7700xt. Do you think a 600w gold source can withstand a 5700x3d and a rx 6800?
Hi Kryzzp, could you please make more videos with the RTX 2060 6gb, Thanks!
Actually bought this card yesterday for $379. Glad to see the same model in a well-done review, for a little more insight into how this exact card performs. Thank you.
Cual es la configuracion para grabar y exportar video con esta calidad? :o
Hey i have a 1080p monitor but when i watch your videos at 1440p it looks more detailed do you know why?
I have a 6800xt and I love it. I bought it a year ago and don't regret it.
I'm planning on buying a 6800 XT. How much is the difference?
What u think used or semi used o reburfished rtx 6800 and at what price? vs New rx 6750 Gre edition.
What can spend 320-380 max
Or Rtx alternative? like 4060 ti,rtx 3070ti,2080ti mod 22gb ?
At that range because i think 400 is to much for past gen card if I will play 1080p with ray tracing
I see 6800 is good in ray tracing, probabbly not ultra but high is ok I think vs 3070ti vs 4070 not to much difference
I just built myself a brand new pc with this exact card and I have to say it's an absolute Gigachad of a GPU. I do also have the exact same problem in GTA so I need to find some way to cap the framerate
i bought this card specifically for my Ghost S1 (mini itx) as at the time was the best card for 1440p in my case. I love it, it still holds up to 1440p ultrawide gaming compared to the 4070 and such. The 16gbs really helps a lot, I might upgrade in the future but with the specific games I play and the Case I have, i'm pretty limited, still, RX6800 was the best purchase so far for my needs :)
I was as impressed as you when I first got this card last year.. good good 1440p performance and overkill for 1080p, 4070ish performance with little OC UV for wayy less money and 16 Gb, best card at 400$ range
i just bought a refrence model for 340 on jawa, cant wait to get it in the mail
ive a 5600x / 1080 i play strictly fps games like mw3, if i upgrade to the 6800, any idea on how much fps i'll get? strictly all low settings @1080p ( zowie 240hz monitor )
