Brother I literally searched for Fx 8350 in 2024 20 minutes ago and now you uploaded
Hahaha, hope you enjoy it :)
@@zWORMzGaming Thanks man, maybe you can also do some hearts of iron 4 in your videos, since it needs a very good cpu :D
@@zWORMzGamingwhat aio are you using
The AMD FX-8350 (4GHz, 8c/8t) doesn't look bad, but that high ass TDP: 125W! Ouch!
@@natejennings5884 It holds up very well.. and compared to the fx 9590 the tdp seems fine lol
This is because you listen to fans. A couple of us really wanted the 8350 in modern day video and you came through, so I appreciate you for it brother. Thank you.
Anyway, now on to the video. It's nice to look back on old stuff I used to have. Crazy to see it still at least do its best with modern games. That and the Athlon apu I ran in highschool/college really got me started in PC gaming. I miss them sometimes even tho I have a total battleship gaming rig now lmao.
Im fan brother that i request for 2 YEARS waiting sooooooo long and finnaly ❤
Woah! Thank you!!! It took a while, but it's finally here!
I hope you enjoyed the video, both of you 😃
The spider at the beginning was truly the best moment of this video
Fun fact: I wasn't going to include spider man, but after I took that shot I installed it and recorded it 😂
Arachnophobic people won't like it😂
😆
First thing that doesnt stutter on this CPU
@@zWORMzGaming Glad you did. Spider-Man was performing unexpected well. Also amazing what was going on in Hogwards Legacy. I never thought the FX8350 would do any playable experience in those two titles.
The dark days of amd nearly going belly up and quad core i7s and i5s with no hyperthreading. May we never go down that path again
Arrow Lake will not have hyperthreading
why not tho?
dont you realise that the slower tech advances the cheaper it is for us consumers
@@Ciffer-1998 it also makes competitors lazy since there is no competition. Do you think intel would've stepped up their game if ryzen didn't exist? We'd probably still have dual core i3s and quad core i7s right now if amd went bankrupt then
@@bluengold3443 but thats the point they wouldn't step it up which means hardware will remain the same and as such developers would need to make it optimised for that same old hardware which further means you dont need to upgrade
@@bluengold3443 8th gen (with 6 cores in the i5 and i7) was in development before ryzen launched. While more cores earlier would be nice, it wasn't really feasible due to transistors being too big until at least the 14nm node (nevermind being expensive on a monolithic die). So no, we definitely wouldn't have dual core i3 and quad core i7 nowadays even if ryzen didn't exist/was less succesful.
The 4080 be like: what am I doing here?
Seria mas bien... cojonudo, me a tocado chambear con el jubilado del lugar... aqui voy a estar tranquilo sin prisas..
Come here, sleepy eyes, help grandpa paint this picture. Oh, no, dear, wait, you see, grandpa going to sharpen his pencils.
The fact that this even works at all is amazing considering that when this CPU was released, a 12 year old CPU was a late Pentium III or early Pentium 4 and utterly unusable.
True! Impressive in some games
If somebody in 2000 show me games from 2012 I would be impressed, if somebodу in 2012 show me games from 2024 I wouldn't have believed it.
th-cam.com/channels/M8hhDT62CwZZGe7iKUp8DA.htmlvideos
It's not amazing. You're forgetting something: Xbox One and PS4 had abysmal CPUs, therefore, game developers couldn't develop games with high CPU requirements if they also wanted to release them on those systems. I don't complain, because that allowed me to use a 4670K up until mid-2023.
At the end of the pandemic, I sold a fully overclocked FX 8350 (NB, HT, RAM, subtimings, etc) system with an RX 570 4GB for 300€ (at the time, still a good price) to a guy who just wanted to play single player titles. Yes, it got hot, yes it had high power draw but 40-50 FPS in every AAA title at the time. I usually did much better in DX12 and the lower AMD driver overhead really helped too.
I told the guy he can remove the overclock if he wants but it's better to keep it and that it's an older platform that he may want to upgrade in the future - but he was super happy with it last I heard. I was surprised when he told me he was really enjoying Hogwarts Legacy
System you had was slightly better than PS4 Pro, and at that time PS5 only came out and games were still made for PS4. Therefore, no surprise.
@@aleksazunjic9672These FX CPUs really needed some tinkering with HT, NB and RAM to perform well.
I was surprised how the FX 8350 he tested at 4,4 GHz + 1886 MHz RAM performed worse in CS2 than the FX 6300 I tested at 4 GHz + 1333 MHz CL 9 RAM + Tweaked HT + HD 7850 at low settings and FSR Perf (The GPU was the bottleneck even at 1080p Low with FSR P), I'd guess the Nvidia Driver overhead and maybe a lack of HT/NB tweaking limited the performance quite significantly.
@@ismaelsoto9507 Agree, but FX tweaking is a topic on its own. Average user would not know how to do that, and even less about which card should he buy to get less driver overhead.
I used my AMD FX-8350 from 2013 to 2022 and paired with graphics cards: GTX 560 Ti, 4GB GTX 770, and GTX 1060. Loved it. Nothing great benchmarkwise. But, it was quietly running my games. Old faithful kinda like a mutt.
My backup system is still my fx-8370 with RX 580. Works just fine at 1080p. Old Faithful.
It's insane so many games even launch.
The cpu perf increase per generation has REALLLY slowed down. It is crazy.
If you had gotten a cpu in the year 2000, no matter how high end, and you tried to play ANYTHING in 2012, not only couldn't you even launch the game, but you couldn't install the game, and most likely couldn't even install the OS that was supposed to run the game.
Now, you can get what back in 2004 was considered absolutely acceptable performance, on a 12 year old cpu, which is INSANE.
Office pc's can now probably, basically last forever as a consequence. This wasn't the case 20 years ago.
Idk man drops below 30 FPS disagree
@@GewelReal 25 FPS was considered more than playable 12 years ago for children who were into gaming. Also you didnt refute his point at all lol
@@typicalmountainbiker 25 fps was never considered playable lmao
children in poverty did anything to seem cool to their peers
@@GewelReal Nintendo fans playing TOTK at 20 fps on a 2012 level hardware and rating it 10 out 10, so its really depends from person to person.
@@GewelRealits all down to personal preference and what you consider playable. For some 30fps is as good as it's gonna get.
Keep up bro! Always waiting for these kind of these videos where you actually test the stuff that was present back in the days
The spider couldnt handle the pga :D
Loving the CPU videos, hope we see more from you Kryzpp 😀
Thank you! Got a pretty healthy CPU collection now, so expect more 😃
@@zWORMzGamingI would honestly love to see comparisons of those old i3 vs i5 vs i7 again lol
It is enjoyable to see benchmarks regarding the performance of the cpus, keep up the good work
Thank you 😊
I still have this, paired with 970ti and 24Gb RAM. It plays my fully modded Fallout 4 and x3/x4 games, I'm happy
I had my FX 8350 + GTX 980 Ti rig up to November 2023, played for 10 years on that pc and it was still doing a decent job on the games I played. I sold everything on eBay and got a 7800X3D with a 4070 ti

Thanks for making me feel better about my skills as a Helldivers 2 player. I get that you're just doing a demo for your video, but you should still be using the dive key to help you dodge the hoard! Watching you play this game was frustrating.
I had this cpu back around 2016, man, even back then when I was using 1080p monitor with a GTX 590, it was not enough... when I built a new 2600X system, it was such a massive leap in performance
Yeah, same. I had a 8320 and it couldn't even max out my rx570 4GB lol. Switched to a 9th gen i5 and my frames doubled-tripled in some games and with much higher graphics settings. They were overhyped because even brand new they cost like a 3 member family's McDonald's menus. For that money they were just fine.
My 980 ti and fx 8350 was chugging all games in 2016, even up to 2023 which was the year I upgraded
10:07
Bob always gets the spotlight 😂
@0:44 That spider really loved the fx 8350! xD So do I !
By the way if you set northbridge at 2400 mhz or more , overclock the cpu to like 4.5 ghz or more you can see big gains from this cpu in gaming. I would like to see how a tuned fx 8350 fares on your next videos!
Thanks for the tip!
@@zWORMzGaming yeah fx overclocking isnt really complete without memory overclock to frequency, northbridge overclock, and cpu core overclock. if you look at the channel 'RA Tech' he has done a lot of content on fx cpus, and how to overclock them.
🕷️
@@zWORMzGaming Lol, I left a similar comment, but yeah, you can get massively more performance out of them and not even touch the power draw on them. Hypertransport and ram overclocking is what really polishes these up.
Yeah! NB + RAM Overclock (if Kryzp has 2400MHz DDR3 the improvement will be HUUUGE) and atleast 4.5 on the core, will make a real nice improvement... FXs are not good, but really funny to tune 😊
I'd expect performance close to a i7 3770 if not more with that tune
Definitely hope to see some CPU benchmarks from time to time. Good stuff.

I love this man with all my heart, he still makes the same types of video after all these years
i love your vids makes my day better
nic vid cryspo, loving th cpu vids.
can you do the early ryzen CPUs for the next one, like the 1200 or the 1400? thank you
That is better than I expected.
Would love to see more CPU videos please. I had an i3 6100 since 2016 and got a Ryzen 5 5600X last year for $160. Love it! Bottleneck begone!
I love seeing your videos man !
Finally sunday videos are back 😀
1:49 love that you included the shot of the pc configiration in the beginning, that's a nice change
This was my first gaming cpu. It served me for 4 years. And another 3 years for a friend of mine which i gave the pc to. Crazy to see it still can game
Great videos lately bro
Makes me feel old I'm 30 and I wanted this cpu back then, but it also makes me feel good about my i5 12400.
I used to run the 8350 as my daily driver until 2 years ago when I switched to Ryzen. Had a simple 4.7ghz oc. Mostly a 50 fps experience, Surprised to see Valorant running over 60 here, I had to lock mine to 50 fps to make the game feel stable as it dropped from 70+ to mid 50s frequently
Hey kryzpp, I currently have an i5 6500 paired with a 3060 but soon I will be getting a ryzen 7 5700x. Love to see these videos with these old cpu’s 😅
heads up...I move from AMD FX-8300...to ryzen 5 5600x and rtx 3060 12gb crazy good... if your keeping the RTX 3060 and moving to 5700x it will be really great...if you get a better gpu greater than 3080 10gb or better you should look into a 5700x3d higher fps with most games.. but 3060 will not give you more FPS with 5700x3d and ryzen 7 5700x will do better
Bro I love you're videos I wish I had all the GPUs ever made and all the CPUs mobos ram too 😅you make me drool whith you're computer parts I have a 4060 and i7 13700hx and 16gb ram
Love ur vids bro, keep it up! (Gta 6 is an another month closer)
I used an FX 8320 from mid 2014 to mid 2016, the game that made me upgrade was BF1 since even with my GTX 970 I would drop below 60fps, kept the GTX 970 but got a Ryzen 2600 and I kept 60+fps all the time
I had the 8320 which was a lower binned version with slightly lower clocks paired with a gtx 760 and later a rx 480. I can attest that most single threaded games did not perform well, however it did smash the games coming out that were multithreaded. I remember Witcher 3 explicitly running really well and all 8 threads being used around 30%.
I fell for the “world’s first eight core desktop cpu” hype when the FX series launched. First pc build was an 8150 and then upgraded to 8350. It would run over 4.6 GHz at stock voltage, I daily’d it at 4.8, stable at 5.2 and benched it as high as 5.6 but it was HOT haha. I paired it with a GTX 780 and other than benchmarks I had no complaints at all. It was a great little cpu at the time.
These days I’m using a 7950X3D and couldn’t be happier but I miss the days of tweaking the FX chips to try and squeeze as much performance as possible out of ‘em.
My FX 8350, also a 2014 batch, was OC'ed to 4.4, even when it likely could go higher, I didn't even increase the Vcore! But my revision was prone to getting hot and shutting down while x.264'ing. I only kept the system for some months! I should have kept it, as I got an Asus Sabertooth 990 FX R2.0 for it in summer, 2015!
Hello, you can still squeeze out performance from the 7950X3D. Since the CPUs OC themselves out-of-the-box, it's all about RAM tuning and underclocking though.
Oops, I meant undervolting.
@@rockapartie Yes, I'm currently using PBO with per-core negative CO. Running @6000 RAM with timings from buildzoid and I've lowered voltages where possible. Right now I'm working on getting the memory latency as low as I can. I'm always learning something new. 👍
yassss cpu benchmark i likeett with powerfull VGA🤩🤩😘😘
I never understood why people hated FX series so much, I was on an FX6300 until last year and it worked absolutely fine.
I used an 8350 all the way up til the Ryzen CPUs released and it got me through everything just fine including streaming on twitch.
This AMD CPU was the first one I owned built a pretty nice system with it at the time paired with a ATI-AMD 4670 GPU was a pretty good system at the time.
back in 2014-2019 I had fx8350 overclocked to 4.5ghz with 24gb yeah weird configuraton 2x8g and 2x4g 1866mhz cl9 memory and it worked super responsively under windows10
games like rdr2 works great couse this tiltle like low ram latency
Test it with overclocking! I used it overclocked about 2 years ago and some games like the ones you posted were running much better thanks to the overclock.
Great video 🙌
With 2 of them in the house still. One with gtx 1070 and the other with rx580. Using them as Linux gaming boxes for older titles.
Thank you for the review AMD FX-8300's series...CPU from 2012
Man times flys... my first build was parts from micro center an AMD FX-4100 in July 2014 with gpu 580 ti. Crazy I know, I know... it was great for Pubg when it first came out 2017.. The AMD FX-4100 was in use until 2018 then I up graded the cpu to a AMD FX-8300 in August 2018 for about $100 used and change the gpu to 1650 in 2019.. it was so bad...in 2018 and 2019 playing games.. I had build new pc went with AMD Ryzen 5 5600X in April of 2022 just WOW it not even close...Just playing youtube to working and games thee six core's of AM4 is so amazing wish I went with Ryzen sooner... I for got I was on 720p 20inch monitor when on first build and now on 1440p 27inch

With 2nd gen FX 6 or 8-core you can still run most of day to day office work, basic productivity apps, youtube, email and Internet related stuff. Just add an SSD and cheap second hand DDR3 8GB sticks. I say this because I have one just like this, just across my desk as second machine. But for heavy multitheaded apps and gaming, please use something newer.
if u have a good mainboard and okayish Ram u can basicly paired with a 2060 still game with it just have to be good at settings and keep a eye on what for settings u use and it works great i test atm a A4 10000 and a A4 5300 and was shocked how good they run with 1080 980 and 2060 on board O_O
Usei esse peocessador até 2 anos atrás, e ainda dava conta relativamente bem nos lançamentos. Então migrei para o AM4. Agora ele esta guardado em sua caixa original como lembrança.
I found this CPU open box at a Goodwill for $10 once. Best deal ever. It was listed for $20 but it was a half off Saturday. Performance to dollar ratio is insane.
Used a 1050ti and an fx 8350 since 4 months ago lmao. It REALLY struggled in any modern singleplayer game, but i had decent performance in most competitive games (at low-medium). Incredibly it also was ok at emulation. Now that i upgraded the difference is incredible tho
Most completive games work well on PS4, and this CPU is slightly better than CPU in PS4.
Dang bro upgraded his Video Quality.... Nice
i Remember upgrading to this chip!
lol the spider at 0:39
Reallly cool to see it stretched in modern games with a fast GPU. :D These chips are interesting. Not to use but because of their rather unique design.
They made use of "Clustered Multithreading" which is a technology in which some parts of a traditional CPU core are present for each thread but other parts are shared between two threads.
In that sense their are neither a 4 core nor an 8 core compared to modern CPUs.
Personally suspect that how software has been designed to use a CPU can have a big impact on what the FX8350 can deliver, however, I am not an expert on this, I could be wrong. This might also be why some modern games run alright-ish and others barely.
Good vid keep up mate
Thanks, will do!
I'm following you from early 2021 and enjoy all vids one of my fav TH-camrs ❤️
I just cleared my tech cupboard and had an FX8350BE, FX8120 and a few FX 990 Sabertooth motherboards for getting rid of. I checked on fleabay to see if they were worth shifting before I threw them in the bin. I paired them with 16gb ddr3 hyper ram and each a motherboard and pulled £170 total for the 2 lots £95/£75. I could have pulled more as I had receipts showing I was the og buyer, boxes/packaging and even the lame TUF stickers complete with I/O plates. But yeah, very pleasantly surprised people still wanted tech I have not used since 2017 when I upgraded to the first series Ryzen 5 1600x. Weird thinking Ryzen 5 is still going hard in 2024.
Accualy not bad, i thought it was performing much worse than this, amazing video 🔥
i used the fx 8350 until like a month ago because it was struggling a lot in cs2 sometimes, but for the most part it worked fine if you was satisfied with a 60fps experince

Man, the 4080 Super seems so bored during so much of this. :P
I had 1 of these FXs way back in the day. Wasn't bad, ran it for years
Haha! I've been blindly loyal to AMD since probably the early 2000s and luckily I skipped the FX series entirely. I rocked a Phenom II X6 1090T all the way up until 1st gen Ryzen was released. What an upgrade that was!
Please make video on palworld on minimum and recommended system requirements
One of these was in my gaming rig until I got my first Ryzen (3600). I recently revived it, added an SSD and a 1660 super. Now it makes an acceptable low spec system, capable of some 1080p gaming. Nice to see you put one through its paces,
i think the fx even bottlenecks the 1650 so id use that gpu in a better build
@@daytimerocker3808 the Problem is which one of the FX8350 u had catched it gave a better Performing one the FX 8350 Octacore Black edition then AMD FX-8350 Wraith Black Edition and the AMD FX-8350 Black Edition Tray
One thing those 8-core fx-83xx CPUs were surprisingly good was x264 encoding. I bought one for my 2 pc streaming setup back in the time because it had better price-performance ratio than Intel ones, especially with getting like fx-8320 and then overclocking it.
I can confirm, I don't usually encode, but I did decode 4K HEVC movies on the 8350 with a completely stable 60Mbps bitrate without frame drops, and I tried an i7 2600, that was never able to show the same stable HEVC mkv, it had constant framedrops.
Every time he tests a cpu or something non gpu its always pretty refreshing
Steve from Gamers Nexus personal pc uses a 8350 cpu. He said he mostly plays older puzzle & strategy games.
I've competitively raided in WoW and Wildstar with the FX. Was quite the nightmare, could barely break 30 fps in messy, busy situations.
It couldn't keep a 970 at 50% utilization most of the time.
the thing is it gave more then just the FX8350 it gave also a Black Edition most people got tricked by the names so i would techniclly guess u got one of them then i play with my FX 8350 octacore Black Editon even Warzone with 80fps on high settings
yessss another video!
im using a 1050ti with an amd fx 8320e and i dont know what is bottlenecking what, also another amazing video by zwormz
th-cam.com/channels/M8hhDT62CwZZGe7iKUp8DA.htmlvideos
My backup system is an fx-8370 with a Radeon RX 580. They are almost perfectly balanced to each other.
So, I'd say the 1050ti (at less then half the RX 580) is actually holding it back.
super video as usual, hate spiders tho
I'm happy with my intel xeon e5 2689, its old but gold.
I'm currently building a Windows 7 PC with the 8350...just because I have the parts and why not? I want to get my Steam Library loaded to it before Steam will no longer allow it to connect. Hopefully I haven't waited too long.
I had the FX-8320 (3,5GHz, 8c/8t) and up until I got the Ryzen 2700X in 2018 I had not run into a game I couldn't play. But I mostly play single player RPGs and no competitive multiplayer titles at all.
A few things: (1) Can you try a select few titles with an AMD GPU to avoid the Nvidia Driver Overhear issue (that affects lower performance CPUs the most.)?
(2) Back then, AMD was banking on multithreading becoming more important. How would the "Big Choice" then have played out: i5-2500k (4 "big" cores) vs fx-8350 (8 "lesser" cores/threads)?
my first PC had FX 8300, 8gb with GTX 760, omg good times! fx 8300 and gtx 760 R.I.P 2014 ~ 2022. Now R5 4500, RTX 2060, 16gb. Here in Brazil PC or anything is very expensive unfortunately :(
28:40 don't forget @zWORMzGaming that the engine apex legends use is a heavily modified version of the source engine, so of course it's going to be optimized as hell.
How better would it be if you paired it with an AMD GPU though? Cuz y’know of the whole less GPU driver overhead on the CPU thing
Athlon x4 760k next? Just for the lols since i used that cpu til 2 weeks ago. Upgraded now to a second hand i7 8700.
Still Running my FX8350..Still performs Brilliantly in Games and Cinema 4D .
My best friend from high school had me list his old asrock fatality AM3+ system with the fx 8350 and 16gb ddr3 a few years ago for sale on ebay , for some reason these things still go for a premium , managed to get nearly $300 for the kit then ,you have to be wanting a pitiful fx 4100 bulldozer and cpus from the first generation fx line to get them for the realistic cheap prices that they are actually worth lol
My first CPU. Had it in my system for 6 or 7 years. It server me well, though in hindsight I should have gone for something else.
A mild overclock of 4.6ghz - 4.8ghz removes the stutter surprisingly.
I used an 8370 for a few years from 2017-2019. It was good enough for gaming at least. Enough to get by at 1080p
Hogwarts Legacy does have some settings that scale on the CPU, so low settings might actually have improved it in that game.
Population quality on low made Hogsmeade almost completely empty, so that is why it's slightly playable on the FX...
Baaah! Bloody FirstMover!
Phenom II 1100T 4WAR! 😛
Still running the fx8300 today, only 95 w tdp so overclocks like there is no tommorow!
