That's a novel idea (to me) about the contrasting ring of wood. It's sets the box apart and my next box and bowl might just have that feature. Good video and I enjoy your work.
Love the rubber glove idea! Being rubber, it's less likely to slip than a paper towel (which is what I've always used in the past). Thanks, Robert. That's definitely one for me to try.
Beautiful box, Robert. The walnut was a great accent. BTW - What does your better half think about you hanging out in your shop with a beaver (lol)? Take care. Bill

Great box Hodge. I especially like the walnut accent. Thanks for all the final product pics at the end. Helps a lot. Thanks for sharing.
Very Very nice turning 👍👍👍
Excellent Hodge! I bet Harry is glad to have a box for his wood!
The box is great. Like how you used the walnut insert for strength, contrast and to minimize discontinuities between the grain pattern.
Thanks! I figured with as many spalting lines as there was I woudln't be able to match everything so I decided to add the insert!
That came out really pretty, Robert!
Badass as always. And that's spalted wood is really awesome.
That's a beauty, fine job fellas.

Beautiful work Robert and the walnut really accentuates the spalting in the tamarind. Take care, John
Nice!👍🏻
Nice job Robert. The wood looks like some spalted cottonwood I turned a couple years ago. (probably not as soft as the cottonwood....it was a mess!)
Verry nice
Damn brother. You are getting good with that skew. I’m gonna have to step up my game if I’m going to show off to you at SWAT this year.
Simply amazing, Hodge! Your level of accuracy and precision is just awesome to watch! Well done!
I love it Robert. I was wondering if you could make a cup with a thick rope as a handle? Thank you for sharing
Hmm....Are you thinking something like a mug or tankard? That's an interesting idea! I'll have to give it some thought!
About the size of a coffee cup. Thank you so much for your time.
Beautiful box, Robert. The walnut was a great accent. BTW - What does your better half think about you hanging out in your shop with a beaver (lol)? Take care.
