I think 0:30 is one of the greatest visual shots in the franchise. My stomach sank when watching it in theaters as I sat in awe. I think about that Battlefront 2 clip every single time that I watch this scene. Especially when the squad gets called by Obi Wan to back them up, and take all the heat from the Vulture droids
Wish disney would do a special that is just animated versions of battles in greater detail like Endor or Couruscant, treat it like a history documentary
It's amazing that all of the droids, spaceships, separatist and Republic warships, and any incidental mechanical items were utilized and the bases of the same assets in the animated Clone Wars and onward. This was such a monumental effort by ILM to do this one opening scene (and you can clearly see that Kohler Toilet bashing into the separatist warship, makes me smile every time). As you said Mecha, after all these years, my spine still tingles when I see that opening visual shot at 0:30. Thanks so much for all the time and effort to archive this and share it with us in such great clarity and resolution.
Always felt bad for Oddballs squadron basically were canon fodder for Obi Wan and Anakin. Anakin even wanted to help them but Obi wan was like "nah screw em"
The problems playing battlefront 2 is that I kept being placed on the separatists side instead of the republics side and because of it those clones keep beating me over and over again. Also where are the buzz droids when you really need them in battlefront 2? Those clone starfighters keep blowing me up over and over again.

''leet them pass between uss'' ,considering even a novice human often can learn ''all fire in general same direction at foes!'' before learning stuff like ''line fire'' or ''get onto x flying thing ass and gut their engines/wings'' ...this space battle scene should have ended here XD either by anakin & obi's plot armour getting so thick they no longer could resist the planets gravitational pull ^^ ..or.. ''hostiles approaching , drawn out chase hunter seeker droids approaching , vulture swarm.. lift of , and just make a wall of lazor fire infront of yourself'' since ,other wise they might aswell just have stayed on the capital ship hull adding their own guns as improvised AA for it XD giving more space for the tripple wings droid interceptors
It’s not Obi-wan being callous as he tells Anakin to do the same to him. They have a job to do and they’re in the middle of a war zone. They can’t save everyone and if they waste time trying to do so, then the separatists will win

I love that opening shot. Flying across the hull of a single Venator-class only to drop down into a massive mess of a space battle with many of them.
