As a Lakers fan watching Zubac in his interview right after being drafted, and listening to him just being thrilled to be drafted by his favorite team made me happy. He had game even as a rookie. When Magic traded him to the Clippers for Mike Muscala because the media was roasting him I was sad. Muscala wasn't moving the needle for that team and Zubac was growing and improving.

The amount of money that Zubac makes, for what he gives, and that he can score without needing to have plays called for him (HUGE on a team with Lebron James on it) makes him a must have player. If you mean all star level player as "must have" I would disagree. Lebron is a guy that demands being the primary ball handler. That's why Westbrook was a bad trade. More all star level players, who will need the ball in their hands to be effective, isn't what the Lakers need. They need guys like Zubac who can be effective without being a focal point.

Lakers fans knew Zubac was legit. His defense was solid for a super young guy even back when he was with us. We were pissed when Magic gave him away for absolutely nothing. His blossoming offensive game is awesome to see. Makes me annoyed he's doing it on the Clippers. They got a huge steal. Thanks Magic.
Someone that isn’t on this list that I think should be considered would be Kyle Kuzma. Kyle’s improved immensely since coming to Washington, and as a Wizards fan I know none of our players ever get much recognition other than Beal. He’s gone from a role player/bench player in LA to becoming arguably the 2nd option for the Wizards with improved stats all around.
You could say that but the problem is that Kuzma was meant to be a star in LA but fell off and then became a role player. He hasn’t improved any of his weaknesses and is still the same player but just in a bigger role like back in his sophomore season. He still doesn’t play defence and is very inconsistent when playing. He could give you 30 points one night and 11 the next

It probably also helps a small bit that Jerami is literally home now too. Being brought home to the place you grew up and thus call home has got to be a boon for a guy's confidence and game, especially when you have the entire fan base showing you that love and hype that you're really home where you belong. The fact we have both Drew and Jerami is so cool to me, two guys from right here at home playing for our hometown team is just something so incredible. Would be I think especially fun to see Isiah Hartenstien end up here too if only for that reason. Maybe even yank Kevin Love over for the hell of it for his final few years would be something special to have those four hometown guys all here at home. And yes, I know where each guy grew up/was born, and that only Jerami is from Portland proper for the picky folks in the comments. Drew is from Troutdale, Isiah from Eugene and KLove from Lake O. The point is, your from here because it's your hometown team, and the Blazers are the hometown team of the entire state, so I believe it's fair to consider them all from "here at home".

Besides LeBum, they had 4 players who were All Stars at one point in their career, and one of them was a x4 DPOY, and they also had a x1 All Defensive player in Varejao, and a 40% career 3pt shooter in Gibson, and a decent all around combo guard in West. None of Luka's teammates was ever selected an All Star, All NBA or All Defense team.

I've always been a fan of Bogdan B, and a few years ago when he was a free agent, I was hoping & praying that my hometown Sixers would sign him. They didn't and he torched them in the playoffs.
My Dad started to dislike the Clippers beginning around 2014 and even though all of the players during the Blake Griffin era are gone, he still does not like them with the exception of one player. Iva Zubac. My dad always says the Lakers should've kept him. He definitely needs more recognition as he is the Clippers' secret weapon.
If the Clippers ever get their full roster healthy and playing well, they're so loaded it's scary. The Blazers are also stacked with Grant, Simons, and Nurk around Dame, no more excuses for Lillard.

It's harder to defend now because you don't have the entire team clogging the paint. Everybody shooting 3s means the defense is stretched out
