the league has change, if you do not constantly move in the court without the ball on your hands then teams do not want you, if you need the ball all the time to move in court and you do not score or pass then teams do not want you.
Bertans isn't overpaid, he's just in terrible wrong team where everything is only around and about Luka, Davis is not getting the playing time he deserves and Luka is really selfish player. That's all you need to know.
Bertans is an excellent role player. He may be paid too much, but that is really on the Mavs. And you hit the nail on the head: they don't use him. Give him respectable minutes, he will produce. Otherwise, make a trade.
The thing about bad contracts, is they can have value to some teams. Fournier for example, is out of the rotation, and makes a good amount of money, so they could trade him and picks for a good player, without needing others for salary matching
You certainly don't get pics for a bad contract. Generally speaking you have to give up picks to convince a team to take that contract, but they are valuable as far as salary filler in trades in order to acquire better players
The only 1 I’d disagree with is Eric Gordan, Rockets still have a bunch of guys on their rookie contracts so they have to pay somebody some kind of money
As a Miami fan, Spo is misusing Duncan and ruined his ability to contribute. He should be a starter and he should have over 20 min a game. Otherwise he won’t get hot. Also he needs to be on the floor with Bam. Ban’s DHOs and screens are what gets Duncan his looks
Not a Miami fan but I thought you guys were better with Herro as the 6th man and Robinson as the starter. And you guys desperately need a power forward!
Knicks fan here. Fournier contract is bad but not too horrible. At least the knicks have been smart and lately most contracts they've given out have a team option for the last year. 23-24 Fournier will be on an expiring 19M deal. I feel like that could certainly be tradeable. Just remains to be seen if they can work out a deal with an under the cap team. I just hope they don't waive and stretch him. Having that Joakim Noah contract waived and stretched was so annoying to see on the cap every year.
Expiring contracts have value because they give teams cap flexability the next year and contracts to match money for trades.....that's why Gordon and Westbrook are not "bad" contracts. Fournier, and Haywords contacts will expire next year which makes them not as bad as the worst contracts in the league of Biertans and Robinson. Contracts with the potential to be bad are Zack Lavine and Bradley Beal.
These aren't worse contract but just smart players. I notice this trend when players are nearing the end of their contract they make their value apparent. Once they bag the money they don't do as much effort. Since shooters are so valued their stocks go up and teams would rather see these players on their team rather than as an opponent.
You have a very cynical view of players. They're lazy SOBs who don't want to help their team or play well. That might describe a tiny number of players. Even players like Bertans tries hard when he's on the court ... he just isn't very good.
@@randygraham926 This isn't the first video with the same topic. Players stats can prove that they're percentage and average drops. Unless it's the coach fault not using the player properly. I dunno if Gordon's contract deserves to be number 2, it definitely turned out to be a mistake but next year is non guaranteed so it essentially expires at the end of this season.
atleast westbrook is always available,. unlike others always injured or in load management
bertans got 22m left, last year is only 5m guarenteed
Westbrook DID NOT deserve that contract. He had all the flashy numbers but nothing about his play produced any TEAM success post KD splitting.
It seems like Miami is worried that if they attempt to insert Robinson back into the lineup Herro would walk out on them.
the league has change, if you do not constantly move in the court without the ball on your hands then teams do not want you, if you need the ball all the time to move in court and you do not score or pass then teams do not want you.
It’s crazy how people shit on Russ but are silent about Bradley Beal
I mean for sure I’m a Knicks fan and them overpaying Fournier was even brutal
But hey for these players they’re just securing the bag 💰
Bertans isn't overpaid, he's just in terrible wrong team where everything is only around and about Luka, Davis is not getting the playing time he deserves and Luka is really selfish player. That's all you need to know.
LOL at that random zoom in at 4:12 😂
"lemme know in the comments if you can think of any others" says andy as the clip shows tobias harris dribbling the ball down the court lmao
Bertans is an excellent role player. He may be paid too much, but that is really on the Mavs. And you hit the nail on the head: they don't use him. Give him respectable minutes, he will produce. Otherwise, make a trade.
As a mavs fan, he doesnt play because hes a TERRIBLE defender, and that outweighs his shooting
@@ismaelrodriguez5517 well atleast he is better defender than Luca.
The very worst contract in the league is Benjamin Simmons. And it's not even close.
Reggie Bullock contract is fine lmao
Probably but he definitely hasn't been good this year
The thing about bad contracts, is they can have value to some teams.
Oh Damn, I forgot Davis Bertans is in Dallas right now, same with Fournier, I forgot he's with NY
Dont worry, his bank manager remembers him
I remember a time when some people are comparing Duncan Robinson to Steph.
Bro, look where the heat is now?😂 they were just trolling us the whole season lol
And now Miami is in the finals with Duncan still on the team smh L
I love this upload. I love looking at terrible contracts and reviewing old drafts to see where teams screwed up. I must hate gms lol.
you forgot beal, and i say this as a wizards fan.
The only 1 I’d disagree with is Eric Gordan, Rockets still have a bunch of guys on their rookie contracts so they have to pay somebody some kind of money
Where is tobias harris? That guy has a five year contract for 180 milions and for sure he isn't in the 50 best players of the league
Dude, you literally haven't put Ben Simmons here, by far the worst contract in NBA history
@@randygraham926 100000% agree. Our depth is what makes us deadly. Now we’re front loading way too much and we do need a dog PF
Robinson proved he's got juice this playoffs he's improved his defence and low-key cuts and finishes decently now
Tobias Harris? Ben Simmons?
The dudes that’s getting these contracts after a solid season really finessing 😂
Michael Porter Jr LOL
Do a how good was Tayshaun Prince video
Gordon Hayward since leaves Utah Jazz not stay healthy & very sad his 1st game vs. Cleveland
These aren't worse contract but just smart players. I notice this trend when players are nearing the end of their contract they make their value apparent. Once they bag the money they don't do as much effort. Since shooters are so valued their stocks go up and teams would rather see these players on their team rather than as an opponent.
How does motivation change your shooting percentage? You release the shot and theres nothing you can do anymore about it.
You have a very cynical view of players. They're lazy SOBs who don't want to help their team or play well. That might describe a tiny number of players.
Even players like Bertans tries hard when he's on the court ... he just isn't very good.
@@wizinjsh I don't know cause I was referring to their effort not motivation.
@@randygraham926 This isn't the first video with the same topic. Players stats can prove that they're percentage and average drops. Unless it's the coach fault not using the player properly. I see Bertan's effort but the type of player he is became stagnant a spot up or PnR/PnP. That stagnation is what I'm referring to, like he could have improved his physique to be a better defender on the post.
I’m happy for all these players.
yo im not gonna watch this whole thing but i can already tell u did the mavs guy with the beard dirty from the intro
Bro bertans is one of the best shooters on the team. You chose the worst clips of him. If you actually watch him play you would see why is he a 45% three point shooter. Watch him before you talk about him.
