None of these have my native language Filipino Tagalog which sucks. When I was on Android translate was built in to the Google Keyboard and it was easy to use.
When I chose a photo with text and then as at 8:39 I click on the button bottom right I do not get the option of translate. I do get other options such as if it has a foreign currency it converts it to sterling for me..........amazing but not the translate. Any ideas as to why? I am using an iPhone 15 Pro Max with the latest updated IOS.
I wonder how many apple users don’t know about feature. I use it extensively. And use it in youtube comments if they are not using english, like Russian: Интересно, сколько пользователей Apple не знают о функции. Я широко им пользуюсь.

Use ‘look up’ to understand by context is a way to ‘translate’.

It may depend on the text itself. Try some other examples.

Perhaps it doesn't recognize text in it? Or it could be your iPhone or iOS is too old.

Is the translation done on the phone or is it done on some ai server somewhere?
It is done on Apple's servers, but I don't think it is currently using large language model AI, but a something more specific to translations.
