I pay $35.00 yearly for "1Password" by the company: AgileBits on my iMac 27" 5K Desktop. Is Mac Passwords as good, if so I might discontiue 1Password then?
It is mostly nice, but my only problem is that I have a daily reminder set that I would prefer not to see in the Calendar, as it just shows on every single day and clutters up the Calendar. I want the reminder, but not to see it in Calendar. I'd still like to see my one-time reminders in the Calendar, though. Is there a way to set certain reminders to NOT show in Calendar?
Just found this channel. Informative, great examples and no hypeing. Just what I needed as a Mac user with 40+ years with Apple and Macs. Well done, sir.
I like that segue from Calculator into Notes. Very smooth. Didn’t even realize you weren’t talking about the calculator anymore because you were still doing calculations.
Gary, Once again, another great video. 👏 I got an M4 Pro Mac Mini on December 15, 2024, so I’m watching all of your MacOS 15.x Sequoia videos in order and saving them to my MacMost playlist. I’m upgrading from an Intel MacBook Pro running MacOS 10.13.6 so I’m hitting replay and rewind a lot. 😀
Thanks Gary! I really think it's time for me to say goodbye to my old iMac (2015) and get a new one. If the oracles are right, a new iMac with an M4 chip should be coming out in the next few months.
Really looking forward to Sequoia - thanks a lot, Gary, for this preview! What I noticed here (don't know if it was there previously): the calculator app can now work in RPN! I love it! 😍
Great video. There's a lot of useful features in this update, some of which are a little overdue like the highlighter in Notes. The iPhone mirroring feature is really cool.
This is hands down one of the greatest videos I have seen. This is a blessing from the creator and I feel like this is perfect for me as someone who wants to be more productive with my mac. May Allah guide you to the highest ranks of Jannah امين
I can hardly wait for the new Mac Mini coming up shortly. Once it’s released a Studio Display is ordered and I await the 1st screen (hello)🎉 Next I can start learning Macs again after a few years absence. I’ve been doing lots of homework leading up to the release and discovered Gary. So now I’m a Patreon supporter who can’t wait to begin “school” with Gary’s tutoring.❤
These are some great features. I hope they update the Notes app to have the options to turn pages and add pages like a journal instead of just the infinite scrolling up and down.
Thanks for this. I'm usually hesitant to upgrade right away, but these features sound beneficial, so maybe I won't wait too long on my laptop this time
11:35 - Holy Crap! Wombats can run up to 40 km/h!!!🤯 Great vid, as always Gary. Some of these features have been long awaited, some would say overdue. ✌🏻🇦🇺
You are the best. I'm ALWAYS learning something in all of your videos. (Love the linking between Reminder and Calendar). I wish they would improve Apple Mail.. I feel their search engine for example is still very limited.
Agreed. Apple Mail still seems very clunky, especially when using it on iPad or iPhone. It shouldn’t take so many steps to delete a mail once you’ve read it for example.
@@Quince828 I swipe all the way to the left to quickly delete an email.. I don't think it can be any faster.. But yeah, Mail is an app most use all day, and t doesnt get much attention from Apple
Really like the improvements to the calculator, especially with conversions being much better implemented. I do wish Apple would add memories to the basic calculator layout.

@@rogue_carlisle6167 Use your iPhone from your Mac That’s a really cool feature. In Notes: Audio Transcripts are great for me that's going to save some typing. . I’m going to have to humbly admit that workspace layout will be a positive for me after being put off my Microsoft's implementation. Even still it’s a nice to have feature but I'm certainly capable of arranging my own windows. The updated Password Manager is a plus. It has a better layout, is easier to use, and isn’t hidden in settings anymore. I just spent an hour updating some passwords this morning. I thought Keychain was a good deal before, but this is better. Another one that I haven’t had a chance to try is the new background gradients used with video apps it was described in this video. And the Hikes plotter feature in Maps is going to be a plus. It might just replace Gaia GPS for me.
I have been playing the the FaceTime trying to get the backgrounds, but when I was using it I did not have any button for back grounds Help. this is the best channel for Mac . thank you
Hi Garry - firstly thank you for your awesome content. I’m new to macOS from Windows and absolutely love it. Everything feels so seamless and it oozes quality. So I have a question and thought I would read the comments to see if it had already been asked but quickly gave up because most comments were just people complaining and criticising. It’s a shame you feel compelled to answer a lot of them because you don’t have to justify enjoying these updates. Anyway - Question - my windows don’t snap in as shown unless I hold down the option key. Is there a setting to override this?
I would really like Apple to add icons for Full Screen modes, just like with "Move & Resize" and "Fill & Arrange", instead of an expandable list (under the green small circle button on the upper left)
12:30. No, it tells you exactly which Macs still supports. Older macs are easily capable. I'm typing this on a 13,2 2012 iMac running 14.6.1. I am about to upgrade to 15.
THanks Gary!, but I will be waiting awhile since I create music and produce and most plugins wont work with the new update, it usually takes a few months
Are you sure that is the case this time? The update to macOS Catalina several years ago dropped support for 32-bit apps, which I know was a problem for your industry as many plugins were way behind in moving to 64-bit. But the updates since, including this one, don't have that problem.
Kinda like the feature to size windows but it needs to be better. Magnet, for example, let's me create 2/3rd windows and to subsequently center that window perfectly on the screen.
I think Apple could maybe reset the balance a bit on bug-fix releases versus new feature releases. There are so many outstanding bugs in 15.3 which are being built on top of in new-feature releases that at some point its going to be unfixable. For example ... have you tried removing apps from the "local network" section of the privacy system settings because they're there multiple times? Currently there seems to be no way - not even a tccutil reset works. This is because it was engineered for iOS and has been shoved into MacOS where you can have multiple copies or versions of an app (which isn't possible on iOS). So the MacOS version replicates iOS even though they have very different app environments.
Hopefully Apple will finally fix the bug that songs played on iPhone or iPad don't update Music on iMac. Thanks for this update...very very interesting stuff
Do you mean the width of the System Settings window. Yes. Have that been a problem? It is a vertical list, so not sure how more width would make any difference.
I love my MacBook Air M2. I caught it last year on sale for $1,042. That's tax and all. I didn't have to pay $1,250 which Apple would've charged me. The only thing I wish I had was 8 GB of ram and 1 TB of storage because I got the 8 GB 256 GB model but I will be upgrading my storage later on next year. So far I'm fine.
