I'm only 26 and within my lifetime I've seen technology advance from floppy disks and hard drives when I was 5 to almost the limit of transistors now being reached in SSDs (we'll have to develop quantum tech to go smaller) as well as thumb drives with the capacity of 100s of N64 games from back in the day. Don't underestimate the advancement in technology. The reason you don't feel like much is different in the end, though, is because it's true. thats a little pessimistic, there are many great movies nowadays too, especially from indie studios. As for blockbusters, an example imo is Dune and blade runner 2049, they were great, very different from your typical bombastic scifi blockbuster
