My 2006 PT Cruiser convertible just started loosing its Crankshaft Pos Sensor. Stalled out on me in busy intersections. But I’m glad I watched your video. It covers the replacement well as well as a bad sensor was very good. That was more important than anything…. Thank You
For anyone that is having a Camshaft Sensor issue and you think it needs to be replace READ THIS FIRST. Unless you have tons of miles on your car (150,000 +) you may just need to take the Camshaft Sensor off and give it a good cleaning. Clear all the seal off the aluminum head (where you can see the green blue in this video after he takes it off) make sure not to scar the aluminum. Then get a little pick and pull out the seal making sure its not torn. If not, clean the seal off really good and also clean out the channel where it lays into. After everything is nice and clean reattach the Camshaft Position Sensor tighten it up nice and good put everything back together and test drive. If you have an OBDII scanner and can clear the engine light do it before the test drive. If not you will need 3 good test drives before the computer will clear itself. Many times these things are thrown off because of a seal being torn or the sensor is really dirty. This may save your $40 to $50.
Thank you Eric!! It means a lot :D I've been putting a lot more time into the editing recently because I simply enjoy doing it and learning about it. Sometimes it slows video output down a little but I think its worth! I'm so happy to have her running again too as always 😁
Same here!! I've had very good luck with their Echlin brand and this sensor so far seems to be no exception! I guess we'll see how long she holds up haha. Thank you man!!! :D

did this solve your problem ? I changed the cam sensor like 2 months ago and the problem came back. I read the crank sensor can give you the same error code.
We just replaced the cam and crankshaft sensors with oem parts on my moms pt cruiser. The car starts and runs fine until we get to like 62 mph then it studders and pressing throttle does nothing to get it to go. Also still throwing p0339 code. Did you have to relearn yours?
how good it is to know, I realized that the emblem you have on the Bonnet is large and that of my car is smaller because it varies according to the year, mine is PT Cruiser 2001 regular economic, varies the size of the emblem. .?
On the 09 the sensor is on top of the starter. Just have to remove the battery tray to get to the easiest. Good job though glad to see you got it done.
