Poly-Seal for $17! Now poly seal has SiO2 --- From the Xtreme solutions website: "PolySeal is a hybrid sealant, which means, PolySeal is a synthetic wax infused with SiO2. The SiO2 is bonded with the synthetic wax and the wax is what sticks to your vehicle’s surface!"

Question on wiping in detergents.... Since we don't wipe in rain and road contaminates after we drive our cars. Wouldn't it make more real world if you spray on the chemical like if they were just splashed on our car from the road and just spray off like we would when we wash a car? We wouldn't wipe in and rain or road contaminants. Thanks.

Brian, it appears the gloss levels went up a little bit; that would suggest that at least some of the product is still present or some form of paint cleaner in the product. Can't wait for that topic.

I run my own little detailing side business. I use Chemical Guys products almost exclusively. I used to use a lot of Megs products. They never let me down. I went to chem guy’s because I thought they were a more professional product. Honestly I really don’t know if chem guys are really better. I bought this meguires sio2 product and I’m really impressed. I didn’t even try the hydro slick. I really love meguires products and will probably cycle them back into my stock.

Suggestion: for real world testing, perhaps change the sequence of your torture test. Instead of 10 washes in a row followed by road grime, maybe try road grime, wash, road grime, wash, etc., 10 times. That would better mimic what we do to our cars in the real world: we wash our cars when they get grimy! Great video, keep them coming!

Switched over to Chem guys, from a different brand. Used the v line cutting polish kit on my truck, and then followed up with a coat of glaze. And will soon get 2 coats of wax. I was mighty impressed with the shine just from the glaze, bow Some stuff may be alittle more pricey, but that's not an issue when the product your receiving is top notch, and your getting from a company that doesnt have the "another one will come" mindset.

I bought some of that AvalonKing stuff, cost me $50 for a tiny little bottle. The stuff absolutely failed. I put two coats 24 hours apart, both layers cured for three full days and then it rained here. This was last week. The rain included wind and lots of muddy dust. Storm cleared and my truck was covered in lots of little muddy water spots. I washed the truck again, the truck generally looks like shit. I will wax the truck tomorrow with regular Meguiar's liquid wax. Maybe the undercoat of ceramic will help the wax layer last longer I'll find out in the coming months.

I been a big fan of Meguiars since I got my first car 3 years ago ever since then, I also used CG, I have to say, CG Hydroslick failed after a month so it was not worth it, I even ran tests after polishing and on 3 other cars, not a good hold up. The Meguiars looks great but I’d have to tip my hat to the Turtle Wax Seal N Shine, it’s about $7 at my walmart and all my customers and I myself love the way it works on my car too especially windows, it’s held up longer too

it says on the bottle you don't have to prepare the panel to that extent and can be used over other sealants so where did you get its a waste if time if you dont perfectly prep the panel. it may lessen the lifespan but it's not a waste if time. but if you believe it is do you have empirical data and evidence proving that it's a waste of time if you dont perfectly polish the panel before hand. most people who buy this are not doing it to that extent thanks

Chemical Guys Hydro Slick - impressed at the moment. Used on my BMW i8 and it looks like glass. I will say you bright lights if you're using this on a dark car. It is tough to see if you have the product completely polished off. I caught a few darker spots on my final walk around. No telling what would have happened if I went out in the sunlight leaving that how it was. I have a Jeep that I use in harsher environments and I'll have a better comparison to update after a couple months.

Is it possible that one product will work better than another on the type of clear coat that is OEM to the car? Seal n shine seams to get streaky to the point I dont like using it on my range rover (metallic speckled black base color). However, no issues on a glossy black base colored ford focus. It's not just seal n shine, the range rover gets streaky with other sealants like Adam's H2O guard and gloss. I am wondering if you, or anyone that cares to comment, has had similar issues on either metallic black paint or on a specific clear? Or is it more likely it could be other factors that are just coincidental to which car I happen to be detailing like temperature and humidity?

Meguiars Fast Finish has performed well in my experience. It also does a good job of keeping my Wrangler cleaner longer. Plus application is a breeze. What has been ya'll's experience?
Oh and P.S. my experience with TW seal and shine has been less than stellar. I decontaminated and clayed my wife's brand new car then applied seal and shine and surprisingly after less than a month the sides of the car seemed as though there was no protection at all... no sheeting, no beading just flat. I applied two separate coats on the car. Just my experience for what it's worth. The car is a 2019 Honda Pilot.

Obviously these won't compare to true ceramic coatings. But I have a bottle of HydroSlick that I didn't end up using on my car. I changed my mind and will be applying the Adam's UV Ceramic Spray. Would HydroSlick be a good topper for the Adam's coating?

been testing/using a wide array of CG for a few years with three different black vehicles. They have a newer glaze that is the best I have used yet, for filling in the fine scratches. I'm more of a get the major stuff - leave as much clear coat as possible guy. Clear coat is limited resource, so polishing it for perfection very many times isn't too wise. CG GlassWorkz Ultimate Glaze is an amazing product - and topped with a good sealant and/or wax. CG Blacklight worked well in this vein, but this product is even better. I top with a sealant for protection and wax for depth and gloss. Just like the old days - more layers, more depth - if one has the time and likes the results. I get lots of complements on Corvette, Audi, and old F150 that looks better than most trucks 10-15 years newer.

As for ultimate polish it's a great glaze, not a great polish one thing that confuses alot of people is Meguiars calls glazes polishes and actual polishes "cleaners" not sure why but it's just what they do. This took me a long time to figure out 😂 If you want a true Meg's polish the ultra pro finishing polish is what I would recommend. As for other brands car pro reflect is a comparable option. Me I love the distribution bottles and the new design of the meguiar's M27 !, even other meguiar's products for that matter. They made a big effort on the presentation I think, more professional! I also like the visual of the brand, this is just as important to me. Strongly also the tests of the coating M788 ceramic paint coating of meg's, I hope you will give it a try !?, and even why not a match of coating meguiar's M188, M688 and M788, to see the real improvements. but maybe I ask a lot 😉

From my experience Adam's is a premium product that has superior nuances (eg great smell, ease of use), if not appreciated, isnt worth the full MSRP. Nor have I ever bought an Adam's product at full MSRP and often has at least a 20% discount. Chemical guys has a very good line of water based products that are actually safe to work with and safe for materials they are being applied to. Granted you should expect less performance from water based products, but you will live long enough to keep enjoying detailing your car. You get what you pay for, generally in life. Nothing wrong with trying to get the best bang for the buck, but price and longevity should only be part of deciding on a product. If you want the cheapest for nice longevity, go for turtlewax. If you want a pleasant experience with premium products, then pay a few extra dollars and go for Adams , CG, or try one of the boutique manufacturers and pay an arm and leg. I suggest people be more open minded and honestly look at pros and cons of different products, not just decide to hate an entire line because you can get a cheaper product at Walmart. You can get running shoes at Walmart too, but I bet you spring for something a little more quality, comfortable, and stylish despite the financial cost. Nor is it wise to stereotype an entire brand because of one product or anecdotal bad experiences, think for yourself. I'm not saying one brand has superior product over another, but they certainly have different products at different price points based on manufacturing difficulty and raw material cost. There is a reason Adam's CS3 spray costs more than Eagle One spray and shine, if you appreciate those reasons is another thing.

Hi Brian, Thanks for getting back to me about the burn through (can't always trust meters). While waiting for the body shop, I went through the rest of the car. Used lvr 503 with 50/50 pad, then lvr 403 with a white polishing pad and it came out like glass. Now protection... was thinking of TW ceramic spray but hear more about Seal and Shine. Really liked the green Vette and thought on the Hydro slick...until today. Do not have the facilities for an actual ceramic coating (just a carport). Will I have to polish the 403 to prep it for a coating or is it ok after it cures? Can't see it looking much better than it does now so dont want to take a step back on gloss. Any ideas or suggestions welcome. We appreciate your input since we are bombarded with brands "latest and greatest" constantly and cannot afford to try everything that comes out. Thank you for everything you do for us and stay safe.

Then I like to top it with a sealant and a wax or two. I find CG products better than Griots. @@wileec5939I am about to get long winded, warning. griots heavy duty wheel cleaner is good, they have quality sprayers too. I actually bought my dad that cg glaze you're speaking of for a deep red truck he has, I but haven't tried it myself, yet. I was at walmart recently and they had a very nice selection of cg stuff. That's what I am interested in, the widely available products that work well. I am fortunate enough that Adam's Polishes has a warehouse/store under an hour drive with heavy traffic, from me. Adam's Polishes certainly makes quality product. It certainly costs more than stuff at autozone. If you get it on sale its totally worth it, no question. If you pay full price for Adam's, then you better be appreciating the fine nuances within their product that most would fail to appreciate. However, I asked really nice, just today, they made me a special 15mm swirl killer mystery box - gave me a few towels, polish, clay bar, a few pads, wash, spray wax, wheel cleaner, iron remover, and more that I am forgetting - along with the 15mm throw DA machine for $200. So, Adam's customer service is fantastic which is worth paying a little more, especially since Adam himself is their asking me if I need help about half the time I happen to go shopping there. However, it's a trip across the metro passing dozens of auto part stores or ordering online which fails my need for instant gratification. Sounds like I should look at Meguires more closely.

      @wileec5939 4 ปีที่แล้ว

@@scottmattern482 I know how to get long winded, too - but will resist the urge. I learned from CG early on and have tried far too many of their products. Now I only get the ones I like - and by the gallon. Same for Mequair's. That said, while I like some of the Meguiar's pro products, I'm working to use them up, and settling on fewer products. Cool that Adam's has taken care of you. In truth, I've learned the most from Larry C, from AMMO NYC and his products are quite good, too. That said, I find myself using more CG than any other, then the best of what has worked for me from other brands. I get all my CG from big sales with them, or on Amazon, for a single item - often that is discounted. The CG MicroFiber wash has done wonders for keeping all of those in tip top and soft shape. Ultimately, I think it's better to find a brand system and run with it, especially in terms of protection. One can't know that mixing brands will have good adhesion among the different brands. We have three very different vehicles - but all black, so I figure out how well something works quickly. And we have real winters with snow and ice and a vehicle that is always outside, so lots of practice on my end. Cheers! P.S. My favorite detailer is CG Synthetic Quick Detailer - it provides more pop and depth and slickness than any other detailer I have tried. In the winter, I prefer to only use a local manual car wash, and with high pressure soap, rinse and their wax, then finished with the CG after dry - I don't have to touch vehicles with a brush at all. Less contact, less chance of fine scratches. Larry C AMMO vids really helped me to develop best practice for keeping my clear coat in best shape as long as possible.

Oh - and I love the Griot foam sprayer (not the hose kind). I load it up with Optimum's ONR and it's great for a quick removal of fine dusting on car. We have lots of agriculture and development in our area, so just sitting outside for a few days can have our black vehicles hazed up. This works great - then I follow it with the CG Synthetic Quick Detailer and then wait for the complements. ;-)
