But in reality they have been friends for about 14/15 years. So she has loved him for a very long time and he has always had a soft spot for her. So his feelings had a foundation. They didn’t really marry until she was 28 and he was 33. He just needed a spark(their kiss) to put his feelings into words. It gave him the push he needed.
@@tjn21rawr I was always under the impression that Pen and the Bridgertons have known each other since childhood. Pen is 20, meaning she came out at 17, I don't think they've only known her 1 or 2 years. 4 or 5 or more seems more like it, especially since Pen was allowed to hang out there unchaperoned.
In addition to be a flawless Pen/Colin first time - that mirror scene was a masterclass in ongoing, enthusiastic consent. (EDIT: also, yes this is what they broke - Nicola posted a picture of it on her insta yesterday, lol.)
„Before they were officially wed“ happened far more often back in the day than one might think. I wonder how many 6-7 months pregancies ended with a very healthy baby. A lot! What I mean is: these pregnancies did not happen just by accident. The couples just want get their way, not way through a cruel long engagement. Passion+love is a strong force as we all do know. At least I hope for that.
I feel deeply sad that Penelope couldn't bring herself to tell Colin before having sex with him. This act was as good as marriage in Colin's mind. For reasons of propriety and possible pregnancy, there must be a wedding now, and it makes me so sad that they've entered into this without honestly between them.
Eloise is making me so mad this ep. She somehow missed the fact that her best friend had been in love with her brother for years. Great friend there. Then she gives her this stupid ultimatum at her ENGAGEMENT PARTY. Way to ruin Pen's happy moment. She couldn't give her until the next day?? How on earth can Pen find a moment to tell them when she and Colin are the focus of attention?? And then finally steamrolling right over Pen when she's trying to tell him in the middle of a panic attack?? Eloise needed a slap this ep. As do the writers for this whole plot line; Eloise in the books literally didn't care that Pen was LW. The drama was all about how Colin felt and Cressida being her nasty self.
Eloise is hurt. I get it. She redeemed herself in the end. I think Pen needed to hear, "you won, Colin, the happy life; let Cressida have this because her life sucks worse than yours" hahaha
Yes, I do believe the book version was a little better and also in the book Colin announced it to the Ton and saved her, and it was a fabulous moment in the book, because Anthony and The Duke helped Colin, in the Netflix show she announced it and saved herself.

That's their ages in the books. In the show Penelope is only 20 in season 3. But they still have known each other since she was like 15-16
Yes, I know, I’m just giving some more context to their relationship.

I love how colinnnnnnn stood up for Penelope and gave her mom a reality check
PORTIA DESERVED ITTTT
Yep, they did it before they were officially wed, and in the house his family had given him for his future wife and family!
I cackled when you poured your drink again when Penelope and Colin was doing the nasty. Before they are married!!

Ironically, they did, in fact, break the foot off that chaise lounge while filming. @15:28
"The featheringtons support one another" 😂 🧐
Anthony plying charade was like the best hahhahaha😊

There future home has already been christened 🔥💜
As much as I dislike Cressida, her move to claim to be Whistledown frees her from marrying the old goat, live with independence.
The only thing I am stuck on is, how did she get that damn corset back on?? lol😂

In the book they are intimate the night of their engagment party. So it does make sense in the show. The show version was better though!!!!
The most important night for Colin and Penelope
They’re celebration of love
And Eloise is so selfish deciding to ruin it all for Penelope
So sad
I've never clicked so fast in my life.

I like the drama

@robinchipman6746 oh I'm good with her by ep 8, she's just p!ssing me off THIS ep.
