Eloise's trip to the Highlands maybe a great way to start her correspondence with Sir Phillip.

Francesca is tongue-tied at meeting Michaela like her mom described being tongue-tied in meeting her husband.

I noticed that when watching the episodes you keep thinking only a few days has elapsed between the events. When in fact weeks have passed between the events. If you remember Colins little speech in the carriage that he been trying to suppress his feeling for weeks. The entire series takes place over the entire summer. You are also correct it's supposed to be Micheal. You're not wrong about Benedict being so prevalent in this episode. Just FYI Tilly isn't in the books.

uuhhhh i LOVE a monday upload, cause I usually work weekends and mondays are my sundays! :D
once again a great reaction, like watching it with a pal!! I jumped (metaphorically, cause i'm actually just sloshed on a couch and didn't really move) at 4:10 when you said "please penelope, stand up for yourself!". RIGHT??? i think though that's the sign that she's a good person... I agree that many people needed to stop and LISTEN TO HER, but she has tried many times to explain herself and isn't given a chance. And when she thinks it might come out wrong or harsh, she just shuts up and takes the blame, cause I don't think she really wanted to hurt anyone with the column either. You see it in the conversation with Portia, when she realizes she stole the money they've been living on. "I was protecting myself", "From whom?" and you pointed to Portia... we all know that's what she meant, but Pen doesn't say it. And she's quick to forgive and self reflect, while no one did that for her upon hearing about Whitledown!
Cressida is quite despicable here and she might also deserve some sympathy for her situation, two things can be true at the same time. But coming from a reputable family, tall and beautiful, she shouldn't have had such trouble finding a husband... it was her personality that f*cked it. And i'm glad here to see you don't give her more grace than to Penelope. I've seen reactors giving Pen such a hard time and excusing Cressida... pisses me off! The cool detail (and probably a sign that at least someone knew what they were doing in the writer's room) is that it's Cressida that gives both Colin and Eloise two truth bombs that they don't believe right away but that end up clicking in their brains after. She tells Eloise (last episode i think, outside the church, after Pen and Colin dance in the church) that "all you ever do is talk" referring to Eloise's self-righteousness (she finally says here in the finale that she wants to go to scotland cause she can't save the world without knowing the world first). And to Colin, it's the envy towards Lady Whistledown that you clocked here.
Definitely my favorite season. And I also like they gave Violet a couple comedic bits here too! I also ADORE Nicola Coughlan, she carries this whole season... I agree some plotlines took too much space and some private conversations were in order but they wanted to save it to the grand gesture in the end, Bridgerton style!
All in all, lovely seeing Polin's story finally told (and I love the alterations they did in relation to the book. this is the only one I read but it's fun to know the differences ) and watching you react to it. :) just one question: are you ever DRUNK after recording these? Specially two episodes back to back? 😅 cause i'd be!

Pen had also pointed out to Eloise that all she ever did was talk during the fight at the end of season 2. She was even less receptive to hear it then as she was when Cressida said it.
There are a lot of things that Pen has said that turned out to be more true than even she realized. At the beginning of season 2, she said that she could tell how serious a suitor was by how he looked while the lady was dancing with another. At the time, I was thinking of that scene when Simon was watching Daphne dance with the prince, but it also applies to the scene when Colin watched Pen dance with Debling.

Penelope did sort of start the convo when she and Eloise were in the room and she decided to write another issue (she explained why she started it, because she had no voice) but it wasn't a true convo yet she did tell Eloise. Benedict better be next or I think people will revolt, lol. Personally, I would have rather they released one a week over 4 and 4 with a month between (if they want to drag it out). I think Colin might have been able to pull Cressida's mercy except he couldn't read the room and didn't stop when he should have. As soon as he brought up her family--especially a family's love--and any effect his speech had on her went out the window. I think most of the Bridgertons do take for granted that families are like theirs. Yes, the direction they took Francesca has been a huge sticking point for a lot of fans (especially those who have read the books). Cold Moors, lol. Brrr for Eloise. I do wish they had had more ROMANCE for Colin and Penelope...especially after watching her yearn for him for the past two seasons.

I agree with you, I think Colin's approach to talk to Cressida with compassion and ask for mercy instead of getting mean with her or threatening her shows how good of a person he is. Cressida wouldn't listen to Pen or to Eloise, she was already too angry with them, so it was logical for him to have a chat with her. I think Colin was sooooo close to changing Cressida's mind, but he didn't realize how terrible her family life was. I know it makes people think that Colin is foolish to not see how bad Cressida's home life is and to think everyone's life is like his, but honestly don't we all come with our own biases? Those who have a bad home life and those who have a good home life use those experiences to color our perceptions on things. I also wish Colin came back to Cressida with a whole "chosen family" thing and offered her support through friendship and financial assistance, but at the same time, Cressida has been nothing but a bully to Pen and was actively threatening her and the whole Bridgerton family. All in all, I truly think that it was time for Pen to come out of the shadows, take responsibility and accountability for her actions, which was the major thing keeping Pen and Colin apart...so if Cressida didn't threaten her identity reveal Pen would never have been pushed to come forward and let go of all the lies and secrets.

I love the books .the first 2 series fleshed out the characters giving back story to the love interests
But Polin the back story did not need to be told.
Much of their book is taken up with Colin’s thoughts and growing awareness of Penelope.
The first kiss was after pages of dialogue about him wanting to kiss her and pages of dialogue about the actual kiss.
On screen 3 minutes. They added the dream scene and wedding scenes. and probably could have added more with the main characters, but I feel just including the iconic scenes and doing them well is enough for me.
But I admit to the following.
I feel cheated that we did not get the announcement by Simon introducing lady t as Penelope.
    I would have liked that.
Miss him I think the6 could have easily recast him.

29:43 not just flattery.😈 Besides buttering up the queen. She first tugged on the publics heartstrings to get them on her side. She choose to ask for the queens judgement in public to use the public as her shield instead of getting judged behind the scenes at the mercy of the queen. Who would have found out from cressida anyways but this way cressida gets nothing and pen can do d*mage contr*l. The only reason she is asking your mercy in the first place is to take contr*l of the cressida situation. She doesn't want mercy she is playing cressida and the queen out against one another. 😂 It takes away cressida's leverage and removes the bounty on her head with one simple move.
She was strategic about all of it. Throwing a dance gets her mother off the hook and secured their/HER SONS title as well. Also the featherington sister didn't have a seat for the queen cause they didn't know she would come. But it was varley and pen who arranged the dance and pen sure knew the queen would come and she didn't arrange a seat to keep on the same level as the queen. Instead of the queen looking down on pen. Also the annulment talk to colin gives him the illusion he has a choice. But considering little lord featherington is on the way, she had him right where she wants him. 😂 Well played.

    • @vegavnc
      @vegavnc 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It wasn't an illusion
      He did have the choice
And he could've exercised it despite any objections raised by Pen, if only to protect his family
The risk to Bridgertons was the only problem she could not fully solve on her own
Hence, we see her suggesting the only solution she could think of & the only one that was entirely up to Colin to decide on, even if it meant serious personal consequences for her
      Love does exist btw
Being smart & strategic does not automatically make one a sociopath

Colin just taking over the issue without Pen's input, then mansplaining loneliness to Cressida caused plenty of people on Twitter to say, "If I was Cressida, I would have doubled my demand too." What an idiot for not recognizing that her unsupportive family is what's been driving her unpleasantness THE WHOLE TIME.

40:23 "what happened to lord debling?". Well considering that passage wasn't successfully used at that time and those birds went extinct around that time. Lord debling didn't save the birds and probably died on his way there leaving someone a wealthy widow or leaving the family he can't stand his money. 😬

34:15 michaela is fran’s love interest. she is genderbent from michael in her book. they are making francesca gay in the show which is likely why she never felt a spark with a man including her new husband. it’s wild to me that straight people don’t immediately realize that… heteronormativity is a powerful thing.

Also that last LW article was sure something. Its very sarc*stic. She first mentions she is at a lose for words, before she adds a lot of words. She calls herself a humbled writer, she is a lot of things humbled isn't one of them. She actually man*pulated the queen to bend to her will publicly while she stood on equal footing to her. She also covered up a cr*me for her mother and secured her sons title. And she man*pulated her husband to not just accept her career but be proud of it.
And her saying she is sorry for those she h*rt. Before she stood behind her words/actions. And this dance is her sticking it to cressida on purpose. That article was pen sticking up her middle finger to cressida in public. "I am sooooo sorry my actions h*rt you, I wish you all the best". While cressida gets stiffed, royaly humili*ted and shipped off". Its a bit sarc*stic there pen.
Pen tried to have her cake and eat it too. She remains LW just with the publics support. And somehow got her husband to be ok with that and was even proud of it. Oh sweet summer child, he isn't the brightest is he. 😂 LW will continue as she did before but by not calling it LW she gets her husband off of her back, gets cressida off of her back and pacified the queen. She also gets the public recognition for her work now. 😂

I think the whole point for coming forward and Pen's discussion with Eloise about using her pen to do good, indicates that Pen is not going to continue being the harsh gossip writer she once was. I think there will be an element of gossip but it won't go so far as to hurt others. I think she is going to start writing more about societal rules, events of the world, changing political landscapes, etc.....use her words to open peoples minds. Much like Colin stated that Pen's letters and discussion with him often led to him seeing the world in new ways. I think Pen is truly sorry for the hurt she caused and she dealt with serious repercussions...and now that she has maturity and confidence and a supporting husband and family, I think her words will reflect that. She is no longer the sad, lonely girl who was a self-proclaimed wallflower that is angry at the world....she is a woman who is loved unconditionally and sees hope for her life. At least, that is my take on where the whole LW arc is going in the next few seasons.

@@CKeel88 I agree with you. I think she will be giving a voice to the voiceless. Which might still upset others though. And I doubt it will be smooth sailing from now on. LW upset many who now have a person to voice their negative feedback towards.

@maaiker2977 oh I totally agree! I think they alluded to it when Pen was telling Colin that LW made alot of people upset and the future might not be smooth sailing....I think there might be some fallout from her actions that Colin and Pen are going to have to deal with!

    • @maaiker2977

@CKeel88 Exactly. For example if someone anonymous starts to thr**ten pen, its a role reversal. There is karma there.
And I think marina might have an opinion about not just pen being the one that scr*wed her. But pen married colin as well. 😬
Also during Benedicts season. If he is trying to find her, pen knows a thing or two about women who hide. You can't f*rce her to reveal herself but you can try to seduce her into wanting to. Pen's writing can be the go between between Benedict and the mystery girl. Just a thought.
